1.1Summary
DVR-1670Bnetworkdigitalvideorecorderisanexcellentdigitalsurveillanceproduct.It
usestheembeddedMCUandrealtimeoperatingsystem,combiningthemostadvanced
technologyinInformationIndustrysuchasvideoandaudioencoding/decoding,harddiskrecord
and TCP/IP. Thefirmwareisburnedintheflash,morestableandreliable.
DVR-1670Bdevicehasboththefeaturesofdigitalvideorecorder(DVR)and digitalvideo
server(DVS).Itcanworkstand alone,alsobeusedtobuildapowerfulsurveillance network,
widelyusedinbank, telecommunication, transportation, factories, warehouse, irrigation, etc.

2.2HDD Installation
Installationnotice
TheDVRhasnotHDD whenleavingfactory.Basedontherecordschedule,youcan
calculatethetotalcapacityyou need(refertoAppendixA).Pleaseaskthespecialistto
disassemblytheDVRandinstall HDD.

1. OpentheDVRbox.
2. If youwanttoinstall 2HDD foroneIDEinterface,pleasesetmasterand slaverHDD.If
youwanttoinstall 4 HDD, pleaseremoveCD-R/Wmountbracket.
3. Place theHDD on thesoleplateandfix it withscrew.
4. ConnecttheATAdatacablecorrectly.Thecablehasthree connectorsforDVRmain
board,masterHDD and slaverHDD.
5. PlugtheHDD powerconnector.
6. Coverandfix theDVRbox.
Note:Afteryouinstall theHDD, youmustformatthem. Pleaserefertosection6.4.

correctly.BeforeswitchDVRon,pleaseconnectonemonitorwithVOUTorVGAinterface.
Otherwise, youcannotsee graphicuserinterface andcannotoperate.
If【POWER】lampisoff,pleasedoasfollowing:
Step1:ConnectACcablecorrectly;
Step2:Switchonthepowerbutton ontherealpanel.
If【POWER】lampisinred, justpress【POWER】buttontostartDVR.
WhenDVRisstarted,【POWER】lampisingreen. OnthemonitororVGAdisplay, DSPand
HDD initialization process will beshown.
ThefirstlinerepresentsDSPinitialization.If theDSPiconis“×”,it meansthattheDSPis
initializederror,pleasecontactadministratoratonce.
ThesecondlinerepresentsHDD initialization.IconsofIDE1masterand slaverHDDs,IDE2
masterandslaverHDDs,etcaredisplayed.IftheHDD icon is“×”,it meansthecorresponding
HDD isnotinstalledornotdetected. IfHDD isnotdetected,pleasecontactadministrator.
Note:IfHDD isnotinstalledornotdetected,DVRwill beepforalarm.Youcandisablethe
alarmoptionin“Exceptions” menu.
4.2Preview
DVRwill enterintopreviewmodeafterit isstarted.
Onpreviewscreen,you canseedate, time,cameranameandcamerastatusicon.
Setsystemdateandtimein“Display”menu,referring to5.2.9;Changecameranamein
“Image”menu, referringto5.3.2.
Inthescreen,it will displayrecordandalarmstatusofeachcamera.Thesetwokindsof
statuswillswitchoverautomatically.
