PRODUCT SET-UP
1. Unpack all of the contents of the X-Tronic 9050-PRO unit.
2. Inspect the unit and accessories for any damage. If damage
is detected, please contact X-Tronic immediately (see back of
manual for contact information).
3. Connect the vacuum tube from desoldering gun to vacuum port
on the front panel of the main unit.
4. Verify the filter chamber tube, spring filter, fiber filter, & vacuum
port filter are all installed.
5. Place the desolder gun in the holder.
6. Plug in the power cord to the back of the unit.
7. Plug the 3-Prong AC cord into a 110/120V grounded outlet to
prevent electric shock or injury.
8. The unit is now ready to be powered on with the switch located on
the front of the unit.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Operating the X-Tronic 9010-PRO desoldering station incorrectly may
cause damage to the equipment or the operator. When using this
product, the following basic measures should be strictly followed to
avoid hazards of electric shock, bodily injury, or fire.
1. When powered on, the suction tip temperature can exceed
752°F(400°C) -
2. Do not use near flammable or explosive objects
3. This unit is to be used for desoldering purposes only
4. Turn off power to unit when not in use
5. Unplug unit from AC wall outlet if it will not be used for an
extended period
6. The proper three-wire grounded plug must always be used to
ensure proper operation
7. The units desoldering gun is delicate. Do not tap it against any
surface to remove residues
8. This unit may smoke when powered on for the first time. Powering
up in a well-ventilated area is recommended

OPERATING GUIDELINES
General Set-up & Use
1. Before turning on the unit, choose the nozzle that will be used and
install it on the gun. (see page 9 for how to change nozzles).
Note: All new nozzle tips have solder in the tip hole to prevent
oxidation during first use. Once the unit heats up, the solder
will melt and reveal the hole.
2. Ensure that the desolder gun is in the holder.
Note: The desolder gun needs to be in the holder EVERY TIME
the unit is started.This is a saftey feature and the unit will not work
correctly if this is not followed.
3. Ensure there are no obstructions or blockages in the desolder gun
and/or attachments.
4. Turn on the the switch on the front of the unit.
5. Set the desired temperature by pressing the Temperature
Increase or Decrease Button until the desired temperature
displays on the screen.
6. IMPORTANT: After the Desoldering Gun has reached its set
temperature, PLEASE ALLOW another 2 minutes to fully preheat
before using the desoldering gun. Failure to do so may cause
clogging.
7. When the desolder gun is in the holder and inactive for 1 minute
(the default setting or whatever the sleep timer is set at) the unit
will go to into “Sleep Mode” and cool down to 392°F / 200°C.
8. To activate the desolder gun after it has been in “Sleep Mode”
pull the trigger and then allow it to warm back up to the set
temperature.
9. After using the desoldering gun, place it back into the holder.
10. When finished using the unit, the power can be turned off.
Note: If the unit will not be used for more than 12 hours, the unit
should also be unplugged from the wall as a safety precaution.

FUNCTION SETTINGS
Setting Sleep Timer
1. Turn on the power switch.
2. Ensure the desoldering gun is in the holder.
3. Press the * button. The LCD will read “L01”. The “01” indicates the
current sleep time is set at 1 minute.
4. Press the increase/decrease button to set the desired sleep time.
It can be set anywhere from 1 minute to 99 minutes.
NOTE: If you select “00”, this will turn off the Sleep Timer
Option. If the Sleep Timer is turned off, the unit will NOT
go into Auto-Shut Off Mode.
IMPORTANT: This is a safety feature and turning it off is NOT
recommended. Keeping your desoldering gun at the set
temperature when not in use will negatively impact the heating
element life.
5. The unit will automatically save the setting and exit the function
menu after six seconds.
6. The Sleep Timer has now been set.
Setting Auto-Shut Off Timer
1. Turn on the power switch.
2. Ensure the desoldering gun is in the holder.
3. Press the * button twice. The LCD will read “P01”. The “01”
indicates that the auto-shut off time is set to 1 minute.
4. Press the increase/decrease button to set the desired shut off
time. It can be set anywhere from 1 minute to 30 minutes.
NOTE: If you select “00”, this will turn off the Auto-Shut Off
option. This is a safety feature and turning it off is NOT
recommended.
IMPORTANT: The Auto-Shut Off timer starts when Sleep Mode
activates and the unit starts to cool down.
5. The unit will automatically save the setting and exit the function
menu after six seconds.
6. The Auto-Shut Off timer has now been set.

Temperature Calibration Offset
1. Turn on the power switch.
2. Ensure the desoldering gun is in the holder.
3. Press the * button three times. The LCD will read “R00”. The “00”
indicates that the current calibration offset temperature is 0°.
4. Press the increase/decrease button to set the desired temperature
offset.
5. The unit will automatically save the setting and exit the function
menu after six seconds.
6. The Temperature calibration offset has now been set.
Temperature Conversion
1. Turn on the power switch.
2. Ensure the desoldering gun is in the holder.
3. Press the * button four times. The LCD will read “C”. This indiates
that the current temperature measurment is in °C.
4. Press the increase/decrease button to set the desired temperature
output mode.
5. The unit will automatically save the setting and exit the function
menu after six seconds.
6. The will now display the temperature in the desired unit of
measure.

MAINTENANCE
Main Unit
1. Keep the unit plugged into a GROUNDED outlet at all times
during operation.
2. Keep the unit and all components free from dirt, debris, and liquid
at all times.
3. Make sure the power cord is plugged in correctly and safely off
the floor to prevent accidents.
4. Keep all cords in the immediate workspace and avoid letting them
hang off the side of a table or bench top.
5. Wipe the unit down with a dry, static-free cloth, as needed.
Desolder Gun
The pressure indicator on the side of the desoldering gun indicates
the suction pressure of the unit. The indicator must be read only when
the unit is at operating temperature and the tip is clear of obstruction.
Observe the indicator while holding the trigger and perform the below
steps if needed.

Nozzle Tip Maintenance
Clean-up: Regularly cleaning the desolder tip on the supplied sponge
(dampen before use) will help keep oxidation and flux off of your
desoldering tip. Flux is a corrosive substance.
When Not In Use Make sure to set your Sleep Timer in the steps above.
Keeping your desoldering iron at set temperature when not in use
negatively impacts heating element life.

With the desoldering unit powered on and at a working temperature,
take the cleaning shaft included in the package contents and run it
through the desoldering tip. This will help maximize the units desoldering
efficiency.
Cleaning the Heating Element
1. With the unit cooled, remove the retaining nut on the end of the
heating element cover.
2. Power the unit on and wait until it comes up to working
temperature.
3. Clean the inside of the heating element with cleaning shaft
included with the unit.
4. Turn off the unit, wait until cool, and reassemble the desoldering
gun.
Note: The solder inside of the heating element must melt before
the excess solder can be cleaned out. If you cannot get the
heating element clean, please replace the heating element.

Cleaning the Filter Tube
1. Turn off the power to the unit and allow the desoldering gun to
cool prior to removing the filter.

2. Flex the spring filter to break up its contents and dispose of the
waste.
CAUTION: The filter chamber may be very hot. Use caution to
avoid accidental burn.

Filter assembly components need replacing when any of the following
occur:
• The front seal should be replaced when becomes stiff or cracked
• The fiber filter should be replaced if there is too much flux or
solder build up on the filter surface
• The spring filter should be replaced if it becomes more than two-
thirds of the way blocked and are unable to clean it

All X-Tronic Products come with 3-Year Guarantee, valid only in the 48
Contiguous United States. If you purchase this product and ship it to
a destination outside of the 48 Contiguous United States this warranty
becomes null and void. This Guarantee covers the main unit itself.
Consumable parts such as soldering tips, heating elements, nozzles, etc.
are not covered by this warranty.
The first 30 Days are covered by a Money Back or Replacement
Guarantee from the date of the receipt of the product. If your product
becomes damaged in shipment or is found to be defective in any way
during this period, we will replace or issue a complete refund for your
product upon return. We will pay all shipping involved during this first 30-
day period.
The remainder of the 3 Years (after the first 30 days) is covered by a
FREE REPAIR Guarantee (parts and labor included). If anything becomes
defective during this period we will fix the issue and provide a full service
inspection to your product, shipping (to & from) will be paid by the buyer.

If you have Buyer's Remorse and decide that you do not want the product,
it must be returned NEW & UNUSED in the original box and you will pay

product cannot be returned.
