Thank you for choosing "YAKOYA S1" color screen GSM/GPRS digital
phone.
This is a GSM/GPRS phone. In addition to common call functions, it also
provides you with a variety of practical functions including phone book,
64-chord ring, ringing or image alert for incoming calls, MP3 player,
recorder, calculator, timed power on/off, handsfree call, JAVA, WIFI. With
this manual, you can acquire a full understanding of the usage of this phone.

ATTENTION AND PRECAUTIONS
Please read these brief rules. Violation of these rules might cause danger or
break laws.
1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1.1 Road safety comes first
When driving, care must be taken for using phone; if driving conditions
are poor, please pull up at road side to use phone.
1.2 Switch off your phone in hospitals
Please abide by relevant regulations or rules. Please switch off when
close to medical equipment.
1.3 Switch off your phone in aircrafts
Wireless phones can cause interference. Using phones in aircraft is both
dangerous and illegal.
1.4 Switch off your phone when refueling
Do not use the phone at a refueling station or near fuels or chemicals.
1.5 Switch off your phone when close to blasting area
To avoid interfering with blasting operations, turn your phone OFF
when in a “blasting area” or in areas posted: “turn off two-way radio”.
Obey all signs and instructions.
2. PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING PHONE
2.1 Interference
All phones are subject to interference, which will affect their
performance.
2.2 Use sensibly
Use phone only in its normal position. Please do not touch antenna area
unless necessary.
2.3 Use qualified servicing
Only qualified maintenance staff can assemble or repair the equipment.
2.4 Waterproof
Your phone is not waterproof, please keep it dry.
2.5 Emergency calls
Make sure the phone is switched on and in service. Input emergency
service number and press Dial key, give your location and do not end

the call until told to do so.
3. PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING BATTERIES
3.1 Keep the batteries away from fire; do not dispose of batteries in a fire
lest there should be danger.
3.2 Do not dispose of used batteries in rubbish, and they should be sent to
designated recycling center.
4. PRECAUTIONS FOR CHILDREN
Keep the phone out of the reach of children, lest children treat it as toy
and cause personal injury.
5. KEYPAD DEFINITION
The general keypad is defined as follows. For keyboard definitions of
specific input method,
Left Soft Key: Usually means OK.
Right Soft Key: Usually means exit or cancel.
Trackball: Usually use for curser move and selection.
Dial key: Have two dial keys; SIM1 dial key and SIM2 dial key
Camera Key: This phone has a key for taking a photo at the side of phone
Home key: Usually use to enter main menu, except special situation.

6. BASIC FUNCTION
1. Menu function
1.1 Idle screen function:
On the Idle screen, there are some interaction function, you can touch the
monkey on the left to slip the function out of the screen you like，or slip
the function you do not like inside it. Also you can touch the screen to feed
the fish and so on.
1.2 Usage of menu function:
Enter the Function main menu by pressing HOME key.
In the main menu，you can slip the screen or roll the trackball to
scroll to the function you need, with pressing Left Soft Key or
Trackball to enter the function and pressing Right Soft Key to quit
the main menu. In any submenu, roll trackball to scroll to the
function you need, with pressing Left Soft Key or Trackball to
enter the function and pressing Right Soft Key to quit current
menu.
Exit the Menu
Generally, you can press the Right Soft Key to exit any menu in function
menus. Press the End Key to back to the standby screen.
2. Detail of Function Menu
2.1 Call center
Enter call center submenu, SIM1 or SIM2 can be choose and changed
settings.
2.1.1. Call history
Your phone can store the latest calls missed, calls received, and calls
dialed, 20 entries for each, and you can view these records through menu.
Enter the submenu Missed Calls to view the missed call list by
pressing OK or Trackball.
Enter the submenu Received Calls to view the received call list by
pressing OK or Trackball.

Enter the submenu Dialed Calls to view the dialed call list by
pressing OK or Trackball.
In the call record list interface, press Trackball to view the details of
the record, including number, starting time and date of the call.
In the call record list interface, press Options to practice the following
operations on the piece of record selected:
View: view the details of the record.
Call: Dial the phone number
Send text message: Go to the Write Message to create a message and
then can be sent to the current number.
Send multimedia message: Go to the Write Message to create a
multimedia message and then can be sent to the current number.
Save to Phonebook: Save the number in the SIM card or the handset.
Add to Blacklist: to add the selected phone number to the incoming
blacklist.
Edit before call: Edit the current number before making a call.
Delete: Delete this record.
Enter submenu Delete call log to delete the call history.
Auxiliary Menus: In call record, your mobile phone is with
functions like saving call timing, cost calculating and counting.
2.1.2 Call Settings:
SIM1/SIM2 Call settings: To set options like Call ID, Call
waiting, Call divert, Call barring, Line switching for all calls.
Advanced settings: You can set the call volume to you desired
level, set the blacklist numbers for non-wanted incoming calls, set
background sound which will play which making a call, set the
call reject message which will be sent to a rejected call number,
also you can set other common options in this menu.
Call Vibrate Settings: to set the vibration option to ON/OFF when
you make a call and the other party open.

2.2 Phonebook
You can store the names, mobile phone numbers and other name-card
information of important persons in your phonebook. Choose the Phone
Book in the main menu to enter the phone book.
Quick search：In the phonebook menu, you can quickly search for
a contact.
Add new contact: Add a new item of record to the phonebook.
You can choose to save in Phone or SIM card.
Option：Press left soft key to enter to option, you have many items
you can set：View, Edit, Delete, Phonebook settings, Send text
message, Send multimedia message, Call, IP dial, Copy, Move,
Import phonebook, Export phonebook, Delete all contact, Copy
contact, Move Contact, Send Contact, Add to Blacklist, Mark
Several, Print.
In the phonebook menu, you can touch the center SIM1/SIM2 call icons to
quickly call the number.
2.3 Dialing
This menu is for making a call. Also you can save a number to your SIM
or phone directly from here by pressing “Save”.
2.4 Messaging
If network supports and you have subscribed this service, you can freely
send and receive short messages. When a new message is coming, your
phone will ring (if ring function is activated) or vibrate (if vibration
function is activated) to inform you of it and New Message will be
indicated on the screen together with the number of the messages received.
If you don’t want to read it at once, the new messages will also be
indicated in standby interface and automatically stored in the SIM card.
The number of messages that can be saved in the SIM card (including the
messages received and those locally saved) relies on the capacity of the
SIM card. Once the storage is full in the SIM card, “SIM card inbox is
full” will be displayed on the screen.

To read new message, you may: enter the Inbox in submenu and press
Read icon, or press the trackball to view the new message.
2.4.1 Write message
Enter this submenu to write a text message.
2.4.2 Inbox
Enter this submenu to view the messages received; When viewing
the message list of the Inbox, the date and time when the message
was received and the name and number of the message sender will
be displayed (if the number exists in the phonebook).
Use trackball to move Up/Down to select the above message or the
next one when viewing the message list.
Press Read icon, or press the trackball to read the content of the
message after the message list of the Inbox appears.
Now you can practice following operations by pressing Options:
-Reply: Send a message to the sender of the current message.
-Call Sender: call the sender of the current message.
-Forward: Send the message to another mobile phone
-Delete: Delete the current message
-Delete All: Delete all messages in inbox
-Save number: if number of sender not already saved in the
phonebook, you can save it to SIM or Phone memory.
-Mark several: mark several messages to you can delete them,
Copy or Move them from SIM to phone or vice versa.
-Mark as read/unread: to mark the message as if read/unread
message.
-Advanced:
Use Number: Extract the number of the sender so that you
can make a call, add to the phonebook or send SMS
Use URL: Extract URL from the message to connect to it via
internet.
Use Email: Extract email from the message to save to the
phonebook or to send email to.
Copy: Copy messages to phone/SIM from SIM/phone.

Move: Move messages to phone/SIM from SIM/phone.
Copy All: Copy all messages to phone/SIM from SIM/phone
Move All: Move all messages to phone/SIM from SIM/phone
2.4.3 Drafts
To store edited messages without sending. You can practice following
operations by pressing Options:
Send: To send current message.
Edit: To edit current message.
Delete: To delete current message.
Delete All: To delete all messages in the draft box.
Mark several: to mark several draft messages to delete, copy, or move
them.
Advanced: to copy/ move draft to phone/SIM from SIM/phone, or
copy all/ move all drafts to phone/SIM from SIM/phone.
2.4.4 Outbox
Save the sent message, and the message edited will be stored in the
Outbox too.
Enter Outbox to view the saved messages.
Press Read icon, or press the trackball to read the content of the
message when the message list of the Outbox appears.
Now you can practice following operations by pressing Options:
-Resend: Send this message to multi-numbers or to group from
SIM1/SIM2.
-Forward: Send the message to another mobile phone
-Edit: Edit the current message.
-Delete: Delete the current message
-Delete all: Delete all messages in outbox
-Mark several: mark several messages to you can delete them,
Copy or Move them from SIM to phone or vice versa.
-Advanced:
Use Number: Extract the number of the sender so that you
can make a call, add to the phonebook or send SMS
Use URL: Extract URL from the message to connect to it

2.4.5 MMS (Multimedia Message Service)
Writing Messages: To create a multimedia message, you should
input the Receiver, Duplicate, Confidential Duplicate, Subject and
Content.
Inbox: Enter this submenu to view the messages received.
Outbox: Save the sent message and the message edited will be
stored in the Outbox.
Drafts: To store edited messages without sending.
Templates: Some common templates used can be kept in Template
to avoid repeated entering when sending messages.
MMS Settings: set the MMS profiles, and common settings like
(Compose, Send, Retrieve, and filter settings, also to know the
memory status).
2.4.6 EMAIL
Select EMAIL function to enter submenu，contain Items below:
send & receive, write Email, Inbox, outbox, Sent, Draft，Clear
mailbox, Delete marked emails, Email accounts, and templates. You
must change settings before write or send Email.
SIM card must be has activated GPRS before using Email function.
SETUP Email setting:
-Enter “EMAIL\ MAIL ACCOUNTS\ OPTIONS\ NEW
ACCOUNT”MENU.
-Enter “Email Address”, Select protocol (POP3, or IMAP4),
select data account, enter the Incoming server, enter the outgoing

server, enter username, then password, finally enter account
name.
After setup, activate mail account and enter “send and receive” or
"create a new Email"，can send or receive Email.
2.4.7 SMS settings
You must set up necessary SMS information before using message
functions.
Access SMS Settings submenu.
-Profile Settings: Select a proper profile. Each mode has Profile
name, SMSC address, Validity period, and Message type.
-Voicemail server: set your voicemail account’s name and
number.
-Common Settings: Select on/off of status of delivery report,
reply path, or save sent message.
-Memory Status: Check the status of occupied space in SIM card
or handset.
-Preferred Storage: Select handset or SIM card
Set show style to mixed or divided.
2.4.8 Template
Some sentences commonly used can be kept in Template to avoid repeated
entering when sending messages. Select Edit or Delete when finish
entering.
2.4.9 Broadcast Message
Receive mode: Select Enable to enter receiving mode, and Disable
to reject cell broadcast.
Read message: Enter this menu to read cell broadcast you have
customized.
Languages: To set the receiving language of cell broadcast.
Channel Settings: To set channels of cell broadcast.
Note: Services of both Cell Broadcast and Voice Mailbox depend on the
network provider, and please contact your network provider for details.

2.5 Multimedia
2.5.1 Camera
Press left soft key to enter camera preview (or use the Camera key from the
idle screen) to enter Camera preview. By pressing left key “Options” you
can see the following items:
Front Camera: set the camera preview to front camera to ON or
OFF.
Flash: set the camera flash to ON or OFF.
Image hide setting: to hide/unhide the settings on the camera
preview.
Photos: to open images list.
Camera Settings: set the Shutter sound, Exposure value, Contrast,
Anti-flicker, Delay time, Cont. shot.
White balance: Available options including: auto, daylight,
tungsten, fluorescent, cloudy and incandescent.
Scene mode: You can select or close the night shot mode.
Effect settings: You can select from a number of special effects.
Storage: set the default storage to phone or to memory card.
Restore default: Select this operation to resume the factory
parameters of the camera.
2.5.2 Image Viewer:
The shot photos are stored in the image viewer. Use the trackball left/right to
move between images, press the trackball to automatically move between
images, By pressing left key “Options” you can see the following items:
Use as: To use the image as wallpaper, Screen saver or Caller picture.
Send: To transfer a photo to the desired application.
Print: To Print the image via Bluetooth or PicBridge.
Edit: To edit and resize the selected image.
Image information: view detailed information about the selected
image.
Settings: to set the play speed to be (Slow, Medium, Fast)
Help: see the full help about image viewer and its functions.

2.5.3 Video player
You can enjoy the video player provided by the mobile phone. After
accessing to the video play function, you can carry out the following
operations:
Play: Play a designated video file.
Use as: Set the current video to a caller video.
Send: Transmitting the video file to Bluetooth or Email.
Rename: Rename a selected video file.
Delete: Delete a selected video file.
Delete all files: Delete all the video files.
Sort by: Arranging the sequence of all video files by name, type, time,
size and none.
Storage: set the default storage to phone or to memory card.
2.5.4 Video recorder:
Under the video shooting preview status, press up and down of trackball key
to adjust the focal variation multiple (zooming), press left and right of the
trackball to adjust the exposure compensation, and press the trackball to start
shooting. After you enter the digital video function, press the left soft key to
use the following operations:
Camcorder settings: Set Exposure value, Night mode, and
Anti-flicker.
Video settings: Set video quality, Size limit, Time limit.
White balance: Available options including: auto, daylight, tungsten,
fluorescent, cloud and incandescence.
Effect settings: You can select from a number of special effects.
Restore default: Select this operation to resume the factory
parameters of the camera.
2.5.5 Audio player:
In the Audio Player menu interface, Press up of the trackball to play, pause
or resume the music. Press left and right of the trackball to go to
next/previous audio file in the play list. Press the up/down on the volume
icon on the screen to increase/decrease the volume level. Press the left soft

key to enter the play list, and press the option soft key to providing the
following functions:
Play: Playing a designated song.
Details: Listing the detailed information of a song.
Add to ringtones: With it, you can choose an MP3 song and set it as
your incoming call ring tone.
Refresh list: Updating the music file list under the [My Music] folder
of the external storage. When the automatic play list generation is set
at ON, it is available.
Settings: Set the player settings, Display settings, Sound effect, and
BT stereo settings.
2.5.6 FM radio:
This option allows you to listen to FM radio. You should plug in an
earphone before accessing the application. In the FM radio menu interface,
scroll the trackball (Down) to turn on/off the FM radio, press the trackball to
record, scroll the trackball (Up) to turn on/off the auto search. Press left soft
key, you can select following functions:
1) Channel list: list or edit all user saved or predefined channels.
2) Manual input: enter the numbers of one channel and play it directly.
3) Auto search: auto-search all the valid channels and update them to the
channel list.
4) Settings: user can set ON or OFF to background play (if OFF is
selected, the radio will be turned off when exiting the radio interface) and
loud speaker, and set the record format, audio quality and record storage
here.
5) Record: record the current FM radio program.
6) Append: append current playing FM program to the existed file.
7) File list: select it to access the recorded files list.
2.5.7 Sound Recorder:
Three recording formats are supported: WAV, AMR and AWB. Users can
select a format with the setting function of the option to record. Recording is
stored in the [Audio] directory under the file management directory. The
sound recording can be stored in memory card.

2.5.8 Schedule FM record:
You can use this function to set the time and record a FM radio program.
2.5.9 Slide Show:
Select folder which contains photos which you want to slide show it, set
slide show settings like type of play, speed, effect, background music, etc.
2.6 Settings
2.6.1 DUAL SIM settings:
There are four modes can be selected to use for your convenience: Dual
SIM open, Only SIM 1 open, Only SIM 2 open and Flight mode.
2.6.2 Phone setup:
Time and Date: Set time and date
-Set time/date: Set current time and date
-Set format: Set the display format of time
-Set home city: Select a city for setting the time of this handset
-Set foreign city: Select a foreign city for setting the time of
foreign city in handset.
Schedule power on/off: Set a auto power ON/OFF time of the
handset
Language: Select a display language of handset menu
Touch vibration: set vibration to on/off if touch the trackball.
Trackball Speed: Change trackball sensitive speed.
ACC turn settings: Open/close add turn setting for wallpaper, MP3,
MP4.
Greeting Text: Select to set standby greetings ON/OFF, or select
Greeting text submenu to edit the greetings.
Handwriting: Set handwriting speed，handwriting pen color and
full-screen handwriting switch.
UART setup: Select SIM1 or SIM2 to use for UART.
2.6.3 Display:
Set standby interface wallpaper, the screen saver, the interactive screen

mode, LCD backlight, and the main menu theme.
2.6.4 Number location:
This feature allow you to know the location of a specific phone number;
by entering search menu and input the phone number, then search.
2.6.5 Network settings:
SIM 1/2 Network settings:
Network selection: Set the method of selecting networks to
Automatic or Manual.
Preferences: Pre-save some favorite networks.
2.6.6 Security settings:
2.6.6.1 SIM1/2 security settings:
SIM Lock: You can set security settings in this menu to prevent
your mobile phone from being used illegally.
Fixed Dial: You can dial only the allowed number if this function is
supported by SIM card. In case the function is on, you can only dial
numbers in the list, or some numbers of which with the same
beginning numbers defined in the form.
Change Password: Change the Password of the SIM 1 and SIM 2
including PIN, PIN2.
2.6.6.2 Phone lock: The phone lock can prevent your mobile phone
from being used illegally. Selecting phone lock can activate handset
code-protected function, next time when you power on your mobile
phone, handset code will be requested. Press it again to deactivate this
function. Default handset lock code is 1234, please change it to be
your own code.
2.6.6.3 Auto keypad lock: Set the waiting time for locking the keypad.
After setting, keypad will be locked automatically
2.6.6.4 Change Password: Change the Password of the phone. The
default password of phone is 1234.

2.6.6.5 Certificate Manager：Manage certificate
2.6.7 Sound effects:
Adjust sound effect of the player. Also set the equalizer frequency;
available frequency equalizers are Normal, Bass, Dance, Classical, Treble,
Party, Pop and Rock.
2.6.8 Pen calibration:
Enter touch-screen calibration
2.6.9 Restore factory setting
You can reset the settings to factory defaults. Default password is 1234
2.7 Java
You can install java program you like, and use it. Java settings and
network settings are also included in the menu, you can set them.
There is some java programs already included in the headset like: Google
Maps, PDF Reader, Office Mobile, eBuddy, Real player, Winrar, Opera
browser, and Facebook.
2.8 User Profiles
Users can select different profiles or personalize them. This phone is with
many profiles: General, Meeting, Outdoor, Indoor, Headset, Bluetooth,
Silent, Power saving.
For user profiles you can find common settings like Activate and
Customize:
Activate: Select the item to activate the selected profile.
Customize: Select settings to enter user-definition of normal profile.
Available operations are including Tone Setup, Volume, Alert
Type, Ring Type, Extra Tone, and Answer Mode.

Note:
Headset: This mode is turned automatically while plugging in earphone.
Bluetooth: This mode is turned automatically while Bluetooth is activated.
Power Saving: This mode is turned automatically while battery is low.
2.9 Organizer
In this menu, have many useful applications like:
2.9.1 Calendar
When you enter the options, there are some submenus:
- View: view the event that you add.
- View all: view all events that you add.
- Add event: you can add event by this function.
- Delete event: you can delete event by this function.
- Jump to date: jump to the data that you want.
- Go to weekly view: you can choose “Go to monthly view” or “Go to
weekly view” mode.
2.9.2 Tasks
Press the left soft key to select “Tasks” menu, enter the task interface,
select an affair to be handled, and press “option” to perform a number of
operations, including view, add, edit, delete, delete overdue, delete all and
other options.
If no task has been added, press the left soft key to select the “add” option
to add a task.
2.9.3 Alarm
Press the left soft key to select the alarm clock entering the alarm clock
interface. Five alarm clocks in total, and the default value of each alarm
clock is off. Select an alarm clock, edit the alarm clock by pressing the left
soft key, and carry out relevant settings.
2.9.4 Azaan alarm
Azaan alarm function shows the prayer times and can alert you using the
Azaan at each prayer time. From options menu, you can activate/deactivate

the alarm, and set the Azaan time.
2.9.5 World clock
It enables you to check the current local time in different regions throughout
the world.
2.9.6 Stopwatch
You can set two type of stopwatch: Typical stopwatch and nWay stopwatch.
2.9.7 Calculator
We provide the headset with a scientific calculator, so you can do all your
complex calculations easily.
2.9.8 E-Book reader
You can read the text files in TXT format saved in the Memory Card or in
Phone memory. Press the left soft key “Options” to operate as below:
-Open E-Book: to read the selected file.
-Clean up bookshelf: Re-arrange the files saved in this folder.
-Global settings: Set the display settings of the electronic book like
fonts, page scroll and auto page scroll, full screen, encoding,
alignment etc.
