PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Please keep thismanual in asafe place for future

WARNING
Always follow the basic precautions
listed below to avoid the possibility of

precautions include, but are not limited

If you notice any abnormality
•Ifany of the following problemsoccur, immedi-
ately disconnect the Ethernet cable from this
product.
- The Ethernet cable becomesfrayed or dam-
aged.
-Unusual smellsor smoke are emitted.
- Some object, or water has been dropped into
the product.
- There isasudden loss of sound during use
of the product.
-Cracksor other visible damage appear on
the product.
Then have the product inspected or repaired by
qualified Yamahaservice personnel.
Power supply
•Use aCAT5e or higher grade cable.
Failure to observe thisprecaution could result in
afire or malfunction.
Do not open
•Thisproduct containsno user-serviceable parts.
Do not attempt to disassemble the internal parts
or modify them in any way.
Water warning/Fire warning
• Do not expose the product to rain, use it near
water or in damp or wet conditions, or place on
it any containers(such as vases, bottlesor
glasses) containing liquidswhich might spill into
any openings.
•Neverinsert or remove an electric plug with wet
hands.
• Do not place any burning itemsor open flames
near the product, since they may cause afire.
Hearing loss
• Before connecting the product to other devices,
make sure that all volume levelsare set to the
minimum. Failing to do so may result in hearing
loss, electric shock, or device damage.
• Do not use headphonesfor along period of time
at ahigh or uncomfortable volume level, since
thiscan cause permanent hearing loss. If you
experience any hearing loss or ringing in the
ears, consult aphysician.
•Use headphoneswith an impedance of 40Ωor
more. Using headphoneswith an impedance of
less than 40Ωmay cause oscillation, extremely
loud noisesor hearing loss.

Location and connection
• Do not place the product in an unstable position
where it might accidentally fall over and cause
injuries.

NOTICE
Handling and maintenance
•Do not use the product in the vicinity of aTV, radio, or other electric products. Otherwise, the
product, TV, or radio may generate noise.
•Do not expose the product to excessive dust or vibration, or extreme cold or heat (such as in
direct sunlight, near aheater, or in acar during the day), in order to prevent the possibility of
panel disfiguration, unstable operation, or damage to the internal components.
•Do not install in locationswhere temperature changesare severe. Otherwise, condensation
may form on the inside or the surface of the product, causing it to break.
•If there isreason to believe that condensation might have occurred, leave the product for
several hourswithout turning on the power until the condensation has completely dried out,
in order to prevent possible damage.
•Do not place vinyl, plastic or rubber objectson the product, since thismight cause alteration
or discoloration of the panel.
•When cleaning the product, use adry and soft cloth. Do not use paint thinners, solvents,
cleaning fluids, or chemical-impregnated wiping cloths, since thismight cause alteration or
discoloration.

Part names and functions
Front panel
q[MAIN] jack/[DUO] jack
Connect amicrophone headset or
headphones. When used by one
person, use only the MAIN jack.
w[MY VOL.] knob
Adjust the volume of your instrument or
microphone. The more the knob is
turned to the right, the louder your
volume will be. When the knob is
turned to the 3 o’clock position, your
volume will be the same as that of other
instruments.
e[MASTER VOL.] knob
Adjust the overall volume.
NOTE
A faint sound may be heard even when
the [MY VOL.] knob (w) and [MASTER
VOL.] knob (e) are set to “MIN”.
r[MIC] button
Turn on/off the microphone of the
microphone headset. When turned on,
the button lightsup. Automatically
turned on during conversationswith the
instructor.
t[CALL] button
Press to call the instructor. When the
button ispressed, the instructor is
called, and the button flashes. While
the instructor isbeing called, press the
button again to stop calling. When the
instructor answersand during the
conversation, the button lightsup. The
conversation isended from the
instructor'sapplication.
y[STATUS] indicator
Displaysthe operating status of the
MLA-200. Lightsup during normal
operation. Flashesor goesoff if an
error occurred. In that case,
immediately contact the instructor or
person in charge of the system.
Side panel
u[Dante] port
Connect to anetwork. The MLA-200 is
supplied power from the PoE Ethernet
switch or injector.
In order to prevent electromagnetic
interference, use STP (Shielded
Twisted Pair) cables.
NOTE
Unplugging and plugging in the Ethernet
cable in rapid succession may cause a
malfunction. After unplugging the Ethernet
cable and turning off the MLA-200, wait at
least 5 secondsbefore plugging in the
cable again.

Set the unit ID for the MLA-200. Also
use to initialize the MLA-200.
Be careful not to change the DIP switch
settingsexcept when configuring or
changing system settings.
Be sure to consult with asystem
installer before operating the DIP

Installation conditions
•Install so that the cableson the side
panel face downward.
•Install so that there isno interference
with headphonesor connectorson the
instrument.
•Be sure to use the included screwsfor
the installation.
•Install the screwsat least 15 mm inside
the edge of the leg or stand of the
instrument onto which the MLA-200 is
mounted.
