Conventions
For better legibility, the following terms and expressions are used in this manual.
Terms and expressions Operation
Press Use your nger to press a hardware button on the vehicle.
Touch Use your nger to touch a button, an icon, or other item on the screen.
Bluetooth®device
The term Bluetooth device is used in many explanations within the manual. However, in
general, we assume you will use a smartphone. Other devices, such as a tablet, can also
be paired with the vehicle and related audio and phone functions can be used.
[Audio]
A term enclosed in brackets indicates a button, title, or screen name used within the audio
and navigation system.
Example: [Audio] indicates
Touch [COMMS]
[Phone].
The arrows represent button touch order to arrive at the desired menu.
Example: touch , [COMMS], then the [Phone] button.
Go to [Setting] menu. Touch the button, then the [Settings] button to
open the [General] setting menu.

WARNING
Failure to pay attention while riding
could result in death or serious in-
jury.
Always concentrate on riding by
keeping your eyes and mind on the
road.
Safe riding and operation tips
Set up the audio and navigation
system (audio sources, volume
controls, destination, etc.) before
starting off.
Stop the motorcycle in a safe area
when making adjustments to the audio
and navigation system. Some features,
like keyboard input, are disabled when
the vehicle is in motion. Check vehicle
messages and take corrective action
as necessary. (See page 8-9.)
Set volume setting levels low enough
that trafc noise (sirens, horns, other
vehicles) can still be heard.
When using the navigation system,
always give precedence to current
road and trafc conditions.
WARNING
It is dangerous to operate the au-
dio and navigation system controls
while riding.
Never take your hands off the han-
dlebars while riding.
WARNING
The displayed speed limit is taken
from information registered in the
navigation system.
The actual speed limit may be dif-
ferent. Always ride according to
current trafc conditions.

System outline
The audio and navigation system (the
system) allows you to perform a variety
of operations via the touchscreen,
handlebar-mounted controls, or voice-
activated commands.
You can, for example:
play back audio sources such as
an FM broadcast, Pandora®Music,
etc.
make and receive phone calls,
receive SNS text messages, and
make CB communications. (Some
features require accessory parts
and compatible phones.)
use the unit as a navigation device
(for GPS-equipped models) and
look up destinations throughout
Canada and the USA.
make customized settings according
to your preference
NOTICE
Do not use the audio and navigation
system for an extended period of time
with the engine off. Otherwise, the
battery may discharge.
Handlebar switches
Navigation controls / / /
Press these buttons to change the
currently highlighted object on the
screen.
Press / to rotate among the
preset stations. Press to perform
seek function and search for the next
receivable frequency.
Select button
Press this button to select the currently
highlighted object on the screen.
Press and hold this button to turn off
the display (the audio source will not
be turned off).

Home button
Press this button to return to the
HOME screen at any time; or when on
the HOME screen, to cycle between
the Audio, Information, and Map
HOME screens.
Pressing and holding this button sets
the currently displayed HOME screen
as the default HOME screen.

Volume switch /
Press to increase the volume and
to decrease the volume.
Press and hold to mute the system.

Talk button (rider)
This button is used to open the
[Teleprompter] screen and to activate
the CB or intercom.
Press and release .
The [Teleprompter] screen appears.
For details, see “Voice recognition
function” on page 4-10.
To start and end intercom
When the intercom function is
activated, press and hold . While the
button is held pressed, you can have
a conversation with the passenger via
optional headset and microphone.
To end intercom, release the button.
See “Using the intercom” on page 8-5.
When a CB (citizens band) radio is
connected and activated
Pressing and holding starts CB
radio communication. Releasing the
button ends CB radio communication.
See “CB (citizens band) radio” on
page 8-6.
TIP
When a CB radio is connected to the
vehicle and is activated and the inter-
com function also is activated, press-
ing and holding starts CB radio
communication.

Talk button
Talk button (passenger) ( )
When the intercom function is
activated, press this button to start
intercom.
To end intercom, press the button
again.
When a CB (citizens band) radio is
connected
Press this button to start CB radio
communication.
Press again to end CB radio
communication.
Audio connectors
One USB 2.0 connector and one 3.5
mm mini audio jack are supplied for
the rider, and one USB 2.0 connector
for the passenger.

UP/DOWN buttons /
Pressing will decrease the volume
and will increase the volume.
REV/FWD buttons /
These buttons control the playback of
the currently selected audio source.
When listening to FM, AM or weather
band broadcast
Pressing starts search for the
stations with lower frequencies.
Pressing starts search for the
stations with higher frequencies.
When playing back music stored in a
Bluetooth device
Pressing starts playback of the
previous track.
Pressing starts playback of the
next track.
When playing back music stored in a
USB device
Pressing starts playback of the
previous track.
Pressing starts playback of the
next track.
When listening to Pandora Music
Pressing starts streaming of the
next track.
When listening to SiriusXM®Radio
Pressing searches for lower
channels.
Pressing searches for higher
channels.

Press this button to change the audio

It is dangerous to operate the au-
dio and navigation system controls
while riding.
Never take your hands off the han-
dlebars while riding.
TIP
Con rm audio and navigation
system volume levels, route infor-
mation, and other settings before
starting off.
Keep the volume at a low enough
level to be aware of traf c conditions
and ensure safety.
Stop the vehicle as necessary to
operate the audio and navigation
system.

HOME screen buttons
Touch this button to open the
[Menu] screen.
This is called the home right button.
You can assign here one of the fol-
lowing buttons. (See page 11-7.)

This button changes the audio
source.
Additionally, the passenger can
press the SRC (source) button
to change the audio source.

Touch this button once to change
the Information screen.

When route guidance is activated,
turn-by-turn guidance will appear.
TIP
* Street names, speed limits, and route
guidance-related information will only
appear for GPS-equipped vehicles.

erating the touchscreen.
Using the touchscreen
The touchscreen allows you to perform
a variety of operations.
Simply touch an object on the screen,
and the corresponding operation is
made.
For example, to open the [Menu]
screen from the HOME screen, touch
.
The [Menu] screen appears.
Using the handlebar switches
Generally, press the navigation controls
/ / / so that the target object
is highlighted yellow, and then press
the select button .
On the HOME screen
Press / so that the upper two
buttons or the lower two buttons are
highlighted.
When you want to call up the [Menu]
screen, for example, the upper two
buttons should be highlighted, then
press .
The upper two buttons are highlighted.
Alternatively, you can press to select
the home right button (and call up the
Audio screen in the above example).

On the [Menu] screen
Press to go to the audio screen.
Press to open the [Setting] menu.
Press to open the [Communication]
menu.
Press to open the [Navigation]
menu.
Press to open the [Function]

Moving back to the previous
screen/HOME screen
Touch this button to return to the
previously displayed screen.
Touch this button to return direct-
ly to the HOME screen.
Pressing the home button also
returns you to the HOME screen.
Map screen
TIP
The navigation function requires a
GPS antenna and must be activated
prior to use.
Compass icon
Touch this icon to change the
map style. The icon changes ac-
cordingly.
: Heads up display; the map
rotates as you change direc-
tion.
: North up display; the map is
fixed with north to the top.

(Menu button)
This button opens the [Menu]
screen.
Heading icon
Shows your location and heading.
You can call up screens for
destination search directly from
the map screen by touching or
selecting the heading icon. See
page 9-10 for details.
Home right button
One of the following four buttons
appears here.

To change the assigned button,
see page 11-7.
Zoom out/zoom in buttons
Touch to zoom out, and touch
to zoom in.
TIP
, the home right button, and
the zoom out/zoom in buttons
will automatically collapse after a
while. To expand and use the but-
tons, touch one of the four partial-
ly visible portions of them, or use
the handlebar switches to select
them.
When riding in the city, parking
garages, tunnels, or wherever
else the system cannot receive
GPS signals; your location on the
map may not be displayed prop-
erly. Also, repeated circling, such
as in a parking garage or parking
lot, may upset the navigation sys-
tem. Should either occur, go for a
cruise in open spaces!
On the Map screen, you can also see
POI (point of interest) icons, such as
and .
You can select the POI icons that will
be displayed on the map.
For details, see page 11-21.
Map styles
Touch the compass icon to change
the map style. There are three display
styles.
Heads up map
This is a 2-dimensional map with the
running direction always on the upper
side.
