YamahaMotor Corporation, U.S.A. and YamahaMotor
CanadaLtd. (“Yamaha”) hereby warrant that new
Yamahasnowmobileswill be free from defectsin
material and workmanship for the period of time stated
herein, subject to certain stated limitations.
WARRANTY PERIOD:
All new Yamahasnowmobilespurchased from an
authorized Yamahadealer in the customer’s country of
residence (United Statesor Canada) and registered
with Yamahashall be warranted against defectsin
material and workmanship, subject to the exclusions
stated herein, for the following stated period of time:
• All Yamahasnowmobilesshall be warranted for aterm
of one (1) year from the date of purchase, plus a
special early-season extension (if applicable).
• All Yamahasnowmobile clutch componentsare
warranted against normal wear for aperiod of three
(3) months, or 1250 miles(2000 km), whichever
comesfirst.
•All Yamahasnowmobile batteriesare warranted for
thirty (30) daysfrom the date of vehicle purchase.
DURING THE PERIOD OF WARRANTY any
authorized Yamahasnowmobile dealer, shall, free of
charge, repair or replace, at Yamaha’s option, any part
adjudged defective by Yamahadue to faulty workman-
ship or material from the factory. Partsused in warranty
repairswill be warranted for the balance of the warranty
period. All partsreplaced under warranty become the
property of Yamaha.
GENERAL EXCLUSIONSfrom thiswarranty shall
include any failuresto the machine caused by:
1. Lack of proper setup and/or pre-delivery service by
an authorized Yamahadealer.
2. Competition or racing use.
3. Operation on surfacesother than snow or ice.
4. Installation of partsor accessoriesthat are not
qualitatively equivalent to genuine Yamahaparts.
5. Abnormal strain, neglect, or abuse.
6. Lack of proper maintenance.
7. Accident or collision damage.
8. Modification to original parts.
SPECIFIC EXCLUSIONSfrom thiswarranty shall
include partsreplaced due to normal wear or routine
maintenance including oil, spark plugs, clutch drive
belts, slide runners, and tracks.
THE CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITY under this
warranty shall be to:
1. Operate and maintain the snowmobile as specified in
the appropriate Owner’s Manual. It isrecommended
that the customer keep recordsto show proof of
proper maintenance and off-season storage having
been performed.
2. Give notice to an authorized Yamahasnowmobile
dealer of any and all apparent defectswithin ten (10)
daysafter discovery, and make the machine available
at that time for inspection and repairsat such dealer’s
place of business.
EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM WARRANTY
(U.S.A. ONLY)
Yamahaalso warrantsto the ultimate purchaser and
each subsequent purchaser of each applicable model
Yamahasnowmobile covered by thiswarranty that the
vehicle isdesigned, built, and equipped so as to
conform at the time of sale with all U.S. emissions
standardsapplicable at the time of manufacture and that
it isfree from defectsin materialsand workmanship
which would cause it not to meet these standardswithin
the period listed immediately below. Failuresother than
those resulting from defectsin material or workmanship
which arise solely as aresult of owner abuse and/or
lack of proper maintenance are not covered by this
warranty.
All Models
Thirty (30) monthsfrom the original purchase date.
WARRANTY TRANSFER: To transfer any remaining
warranty from the original purchaser to any subsequent
purchaser, it isimperative that the machine be
inspected and registered for warranty by an authorized
Yamahasnowmobile dealer in the country of residence
of the original purchaser. In order for thiswarranty to
remain in effect, thisinspection and registration must
take place within ten (10) daysafter ownership transfer.
A reasonable dealer-imposed fee may be charged for
thisinspection.
