temperaturehas dropped, thenwrapa clotharoundthecapandloosenitslowly.
#After inspection, refastenthefillercapfirmly.Ifthecapisnot secure, steamor
scalding watermaybeemittedduringoperationcausingburns.

Proper Ventilation ofthe Battery Area
#Besuretheareaaroundthebatteryiswell-ventilatedandthere is nothingwhich
could starta fire.Duringoperationand charging, hydrogengasisemittedfrom
thebatteryandcanbeeasilyignited.

# Be suretousethecorrecttypeoffuelwhenrefueling.
Mistakenly filling with gasolineorthelikewillresultinignition.

Moving Parts
#Donottouchthemovingpartsoftheengine(propellershaft,V-belt,PTO-pulley,
etc.)duringoperationorletyourclothinggetcaughtinthémasthiscanresultin

# Check beforestartingtheenginetosee that anytoolsorclothsusedinmainte-
nance havebeenremovedfromthe area.

Inthe case of 4LHA-HTE/-DTP/-STP engines with marinegear (HSW450A2, HSW630A1), con-
nectthepropellershafttothemarinegear output shaft. Also the 4LHA-HTZP/-DTZP/-STZP
engineareconnectedthesterndriveBravo.
Inordertoobtain full performancefromyourengine,itisimperative that youcheckthe
size andstructureofthehullandusea propelleroftheappropriate size.
The enginemustbeinstalledcorrectly with safecoolingwaterandexhaustpipingand
electrical wiring.
To handlethedriveequipment,drivensystems(includingthepropeller)andother
onboardequipment,besuretoobservetheinstructionsandcautionsgiveninthe
operationmanualssuppliedbytheshipyardandequipmentmanufacturers.
The lawsofsomecountriesmayrequirehullandengineinspections,dependingonthe
use,size andcruisingareaoftheboat.
The installation, fitting andsurveyingofthisengineallrequirespecializedknowledgeand
engineeringskills.
