OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The Remote Keypad Unit (RKU) is a portable, hand
held accessory for use with the York Variable Speed
il Pump Drive (VS P). When connected to a VS P
Drive it provides the ability to view the different con-
trols within the VS P Drive. Typically, the RKU will
be used to determine what condition is causing the VS P
Drive to fault. The RKU is powered by a 9 volt alkaline
battery (supplied). Auto Power-Down and backlight con-
trol features conserve battery life by automatically turn-
ing the RKU off after a specified time period and by
allowing selected use of the display backlight.
The Remote Keypad Unit has the abil-
ity to program many different controls
within the VSOP Drive DO NOT
change any of these controls, they are
programmed at the factory and do not
require any adjustment Problems as-
sociated with modifying any of these
controls WILL NOT be covered by war-
ranty

INITIAL INSPECTION
Upon receipt, unpack and carefully inspect for any dam-
age sustained in transit (depression in the enclosure,
damage to parts, missing parts). If damage is apparent,
the shipping agent should be notified. If there are parts
missing, consult the Baltimore Parts Center.
The Remote Keypad Unit option consists of the follow-
ing components:
REMOTE KEYPAD UNIT SPECIAL PARAMETERS
The Remote Keypad Unit is an intelligent device con-
taining its own micro-computer, memory and special
parameters. Table 2 below lists these special param-
eters.
Ap Auto Powe Down
This special parameter sets the length of time, in min-
utes, before the Remote Keypad Unit turns itself off if
no keys are pressed. If a data code of 0 is entered, the
Auto Power Down feature is disabled and the RKU
will remain on indefinitely. Figure 8 shows a typical dis-
