General
The SCM-LAN i a TCP/IP module that i de igned to be DIN mounted in ide of a Smart Connect Multi-loop control
panel. It’ powered and i interfaced to the panel via a RJ45 connection. The module provide a Smart Connect
Multi-loop CIE with a TCP/IP connection that allow the panel to report event to an external monitoring y tem,
uch a Datalog or Zeta Remote.
Installation
1. En ure that the in tallation area i free from any cable or wire that may get caught, and that there i enough
pace on the DIN rail to mount the module. Al o en ure that the DIN clip underneath the module i in the open
po ition.
2. Place the module onto the DIN rail, hooking the metal earth clip underneath onto the rail fir t.
3. Once the earth clip i hooked, pu h the bottom of the module onto the rail o that the module it flat.
4. Pu h the pla tic DIN clip (located at the bottom of the module) upward to lock and ecure the module into
po ition.
5. Once the module i ecured to the DIN rail, imply connect the upplied CAT5E cable to the module’ RJ45 port.
6. Connect the other end of CAT5E cable to the neare t unoccupied RJ45 port on the termination PCB.
ATTENTION: THE PANEL MUST BE POWERED DOWN AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE BATTERIES BEFORE
INSTALLING OR REMOVING ANY MODULES.

Each RJ45 port on the Smart Connect Multi-loop termination ha it own unique port addre . Thi port addre i
important to keep note of a it i di played on Alarm/Fault me age and i u ed when configuring or etting up
cau e and effect on the panel (See SCM operation manual GLT-261-7-10).
Se uring the modules
The module are de igned to clip together to make them more ecure. In addition, the SCM panel i upplied with
Din rail topper . The e hould be fitted before the fir t module, and after the la t module on each rail.
Before Powering the Panel On
1. To prevent the ri k of a park, do not connect the batterie . Only connect the batterie after powering on the
y tem from it main AC upply.
2. Check that all external field wiring i clear from any open, hort and ground fault .
3. Check that all the module have been in talled properly, with correct connection and placement
4. Check that all witche and jumper link are at their correct etting .
5. Check that all interconnection cable are plugged in properly, and that they are ecure.
6. Check that the AC power wiring i correct.
7. En ure that the panel cha i ha been correctly earth grounded.
Before powering on from the main AC upply, make ure that the front panel door i clo ed

Power on Pro edure
1. After the above ha been completed, turn the panel on (Via AC Only). The panel will follow the ame power up
equence de cribed in initial power up ection above
2. The panel will now di play one of the following me age

during it power up check.
Power down the panel and check that the
expected module are fitted, and that all
module cable are correctly in erted.
Note that the panel will need at lea t one
module fitted to run.
The panel ha detected a new module added
to a port that wa previou ly empty.

1. Check that the module configuration i a expected u ing the 

2. The new module i now configured into the panel and i ready for u e.
3. Since the batterie are not connected, the panel will report them a removed, lighting the yellow “Fault” LED,
intermittently ounding the Fault buzzer, and di playing battery removed me age on the creen.
4. Connect the batterie , en uring that the polarity i correct (Red wire = +ve) & (Black wire = -ve). Acknowledge
the Fault event via the di play creen, and re et the panel to clear the battery fault.
5. The panel hould now remain in the normal condition, and you can configure the panel a normal.
