Product Description
Description
The ZP755R-2 is an addressable, so nder, designed
for se on Ziton analog e addressable fire detection
and alarm systems. Conforming to EN54 Part 3, the
ZP755R-2 is developed for applications in individ al
rooms, sleeping accommodation or small
compartments.
Application
Installed directly onto the wiring loop - the ZP755R-2
enables the system designer to offer a complete
analog e addressable system on a single pair of
wires. Installation costs are greatly red ced, whilst
system integrity, so nder options and programmed
alarm organisation are significantly increased.
The ZP755R-2 feat res the wide so nd distrib tion
design, with an 'all aro nd' so nd o tp t of 70 dBA.
The nits high efficiency aco stic design and so nd
transd cer, enables p to 60 Addressable Sensor
Base So nders to be connected to a one kilometre
loop of 1.5 mm
2
cable. A pl g-in base accepts all
loop and screen connections, prior to the room
so nder connection. A vol me control is incl ded for
areas where a red ced so nd o tp t is req ired, b t
this control m st be f lly clockwise to conform to
EN54 Part 3 so nd o tp t levels.
The ZP755R-2 range feat res a niq e self test
facility - a tomatically activated d ring ro tine
so nder testing. A b ilt in microphone circ it
meas res so nd o tp t level and a tomatically
signals the so nder address and location to the
control panel, sho ld vol me fall below the
expected test level.
In systems where loop lengths or c rrent
req irements are excessive, ZP755R-2 so nders can
be powered directly from an external power s pply.
All ZP755R-2 so nders incorporate switch settings
enabling them to be assigned a niq e address, which
is polled by the panel every two seconds.
Contin o s, intermittent and two-tone o tp ts are
available, from which any combination can be
chosen to provide alert and evac ate, two stage
alarms. All so nd types comply with BS 5839 Part
1:1988 recommended freq encies (in accordance
with EN54 Part 3).
Mo lded in high impact thermoplastic, the so nder
is available in either red or white.

Connecting Wiring
Loop wiring for the pl g-in base. There is no wiring
between the so nder and pl g-in base. See Fig re 1
in the adjacent col mn. Pl g-in base s pplied
separately.

Operating Power
The ZP755R-2 can be powered directly from its
address loop (setting 1), or externally from a 24 VDC
s pply (setting 2). See Fig re 3.
Setting the Address
The switch is sed to set the device address in binary
code. The switch may be set to represent all
addresses from 1 to 127. See Fig re 3.

Operating Modes
The ZP755R-2 so nder has 2 modes of operation,
which are selected sing switch 7 on dipswitch SW2.
This model is always operated as a dedicated room
so nder. See Fig re 3.
1. Operation as a Stand-alone Sounder
Own niq e loop
address
Switch 7 = ON
1.1 Navigate to the following men to tag the
so nders as SAB:
ZP3 Panel Men /Set p/So nders/SAB/Add
SAB.
The Planner program can also be sed.
1.2 To map an alert to evac f nction the first inp t
type m st be a fast flash inp t. The so nder
will so nd the alert tone in response to a fast
flash inp t. The so nder will so nd the evac
tone when the inp t config red as steady is
triggered, overriding the alert tone
Emulation
The ZP755R-2 can operate as a ZP755R-2 or em late
a ZP754. See Fig re 4.
1. ZP755 Mode
Set switch 6 (dipswitch SW2) to OFF. Provides
ser selectable 2-tone operation and f ll
monitoring.
Operates with ZP3 software 1.18 or higher.
2. ZP754 Emulation Mode
Set switch 6 (dipswitch SW2) to ON. Em lates
ZP754, provides 2 fixed tones. Use with ZP5
panels or ZP3 panels with legacy software.
Tone Settings
See Fig re 4 – Operating Modes.
Two different tones can be programmed to operate
from the panel. In ZP755R-2 mode these tones are
selected sing switches 1, 2 and 3 on the f nction
dipswitch SW2.
For mode selection, refer to Operating Modes.
Note: In the ZP panel I/O mapping men , o tp ts are
programmed as "steady" or "flashing". The link to the
table on the following page is as follows:
Tone A = Panel setting "fast flash/slow flash.”
Tone B = Panel setting "steady.”
