1.1 Overview
CANWiFi-200T developed by Guangzhou ZHIYUAN Electronics Co., Ltd. is a
high-performance industrial WiFi-to-CAN data conversion device, which is integrated
with 2-channel CAN-bus interfaces and 1-channel Ethernet interface as well as a
WiFi interface, and equipped with mature and reliable TCP/IP protocol stack. This
device helps users easily realize the connection between CAN-bus network and WiFi
network so that the CAN-bus network range can be further expanded.
CANWiFi-200T is an industrial product and operates in the temperature range of
-40℃~70℃. It is equipped with a 2.4G WLAN interface in compliance with IEEE
802.11a/b/g/n standard, 1-channel 10M/100M self-adaptive Ethernet interface, and its
maximum CAN communication Baud rate is 1Mbps. CANWiFi-200T includes three
operating modes - TCP Server, TCP Client and UDP mode. Each CAN interface
supports up to 200 TCP or UDP connections. Users can flexibly set relevant
configuration parameters through the configuration software. Figure 1-1 shows the
typical application.

1.2.2 Perfect Function
Supports static or dynamic IP acquisition.
Supports 64/128 bit encryption/decryption and 256 bit WEP, TKIP orAES key.
Supports wireless fidelity access (WPAandWPA2.0) and IEEE 802.11i, including
hardware acceleration AES.
Supports timeout interrupt function.
The operating port, destination IP and destination port can be set.
The link will be connected automatically if the network is disconnected, so that
the reliable TCP connections can be established.
TCP supports up to 200 connections, allowing 6 groups of users to manage a
CAN port simultaneously.
Each CAN port supports 6 groups of destination IP segments in the UDP mode,
allowing multiple users to manage a CAN device simultaneously.
Supports protocols including ETHERNET, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, DHCP, DNS and
TCP.
Complies with the SOCKET operating mode (TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP, etc);
the upper computer communication software should be developed according to
the standard SOCKET rule.
Bidirectional CAN data and Ethernet data transmission (see Appendix for the
format).
Flexible CAN port data sub-frame settings can satisfy various sub-package
requirements from users.
Each CAN port can be configured to operate in different operating modes so as
to apply in various fields flexibly.
Each CAN port also enable the diagnostics port, and the upper computer can

obtain the corresponding error status of the CAN port by connecting this port.
The Windows platform configuration software can be used to configure operating
parameters.
The Windows platform configuration software provides free function libraries,
including easy-to-use API function library, therefore users may develop their own
configuration software easily.
Supports local system firmware upgrade.
1.3 Specifications
1.3.1 WLAN
Integrated 2.4G WLAN interface, in compliance with 802.11a/b/g/n standard,
supports AP and Station modes.
1.3.2 LAN
10M/100M Ethernet, RJ145 interface and 2KV electromagnetic isolation. Note, LAN
and WLAN can not work at the same time. When a network cable is connected,
WLAN stops working and LAN begins to work; when the network cable is removed,
WLAN begins to work and LAN stops working.
1.3.3 CAN
Number of CAN ports: 2.
Interface type: 2EDG, 90°, terminal, 2.5KV electromagnetic isolation.
Signal line: CAN0H, CAN0L, CAN1H, and CAN1L.
Baud rate: 5k~1000kbps.
1.3.4 Software Features
Supported TCP/IP protocols: ETHERNET, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, DHCP and
DNS.
Tool software: ZnetCom configuration software (2.81 or later version), CANtest
test tool (2.25 or later version), TCP/UDP test tool.

This chapter introduces the hardware interfaces of CANWiFi-200T.
2.1 Appearance

2.2 Power Interface
CANWiFi-200T uses the 9~24V DC power supply which can be acquired easily in the
industrial field. 9~24V is the positive input of the power supply; GND is the negative
input of the power supply. If the connection of power supply is wrong, then the device
cannot be supplied. The interface is shown in Figure 2-2.
The power interface of CANWiFi-200T also has EARTH terminal, which is used to
connect with the ground for electrostatic discharge or surge release.

2.3 Ethernet Interface and WLAN Antenna
The appearance of CANWiFi-200T Ethernet interface (RJ45) and WLAN antenna are
shown in Figure 2-3, and each pin definition is listed in Table 2-1. There are two
indicators. The green light is LINK indicator, which indicates whether the Ethernet is
connected. The yellow light is data indicator, which flashes when there is Ethernet data
transmission.

2.4 Restore Factory Settings and Reset Button
The Reset button is used to reset the device manually, as shown in Figure 2-4. Press it
1 second to reset the device. The DEF button is used to restore the factory settings.
Press it and hold for 5-10 seconds until the system SYS extinguish, and then the device
restores factory settings automatically.

2.5 CAN Port
CANWiFi-200T has two CAN ports. The appearance is shown in Figure 2-5 and each
pin definition is shown in Table 2-2.

It is the CANL signal terminal of CAN0.
CAN0-G
It is the terminal through which CAN0 channel is
connected with the shielding layer.
CAN0-H
It is the CANH terminal of CAN0 and the connection

Another connection terminal of the CAN0 terminal
resistance (connected with CAN0-L internally)
Note: the corresponding terminal resistance is configured through using a wire to connect CANx-H and
CANx-R.
2.6 LED Indicator
CANWiFi-200T has three indicators, including POWER, SYS and WiFi/LAN, as shown
in Figure 2-6.

The description of the three LED indicators on the left is listed in Table 2-3.

Power indicator. It always lights after power-on.
SYS
System operation indicator. If the device is not ready or
has fault, the yellow light is always on. If the device
operates normally, the yellow light flashes.
WiFi/LAN
WiFi and LAN operation indicator. The green light is on
when WiFi is connected, and the yellow light is on when
the network cable is connected.
The two CAN ports of the CANWiFi-200T have one LED indicator respectively. The
description is shown in Table 2-4.

In this chapter, we will introduce the basic usage of CANWiFi-200T and the related
hardware and software installation settings. You can quickly grasp the usage of it and
have an intuitive understanding of the network and CAN device communication through
our introduction.
Before using the CANWiFi-200T device, we need to know the network parameters such
as device IP address. CANWiFi-200T device supports two ways to obtain the IP
address, including “Static Acquisition” and “Dynamic Acquisition”. “Static Acquisition”
means that the device uses “IP Address”, “Subnet Mask” and “Gateway” specified by
users; “Dynamic Acquisition”means that the device uses DHCP protocol to obtain the
information such as IP address, subnet mask and gateway from the DHCP server on
the network.
3.1 Device IP Factory Setting
The default IP address of CANWiFi-200T device is 192.168.0.178.
3.2 Connect and obtain Device IP
When users forget the device IP address or the device uses DHCP protocol to obtain
the IP address automatically, the current device IP can be obtained through ZNetCom
software.
ZNetCom software is the configuration software of CANWiFi-200T device running on
the Windows platform. No matter what the current CANWiFi-200T device IP is, you can
obtain the current device IP through ZNetCom software and configure the IP. Use
ZnetCom software to obtain the CANWiFi-200T device IP as follows:
1. Connect the hardware to power up the device with 9~24V DC power supply, and
use a crossover cable to connect the LAN port of the device to the PC network port.
In addition, when the WLAN of CANWiFi-200T operates in the AP mode and the LAN
port is not connected, users can search and find the “CANWiFi-200T”device via the
network interface card of PC, as shown in Figure 3-1. The PC wireless network
interface card is set to automatically obtain IP, and input the password of "12345678"
when connection.

2. Install ZNetCom (2.81 or later version). Figure 6-1 shows the installation method of
the ZNetCom software.
3. Double-click to run ZNetCom software (if the system is WIN7 or later version,
you should right-click to run it as an administrator), and the interface is shown in
Figure 3-2.

4. Close the firewall and anti-virus software on the PC.
5. Click , and the interface shown in Figure 3-3 appears, and then you
can obtain the device IP address.

3.3 PC and Device Network Segment Detection
Before using PC to communicate with the CANWiFi-200T device, users should ensure
that there is an Ethernet card in the user's PC. Moreover, PC and the CANWiFi-200T
device must be in the same network segment.
A default IP address (192.168.0.178) and network mask (255.255.255.0) are set for a
CANET device in the factory. Users can check whether the device and the PC are in the
same network segment according to the process shown in Figure 3-4. If they are in the
same network segment, you do not need to read the following PC network setting
information. If not, then the information of this network setting is very important for you.

The following information explains how to make the PC and CANWiFi-200T device in
the same network segment.
If users use the operating system of Windows2000/XP/7, then there are two ways to do
it, one is to add local IP address and the other is to modify local IP address.

1.Add local IP address
Assuming that the IP address of the PC is 192.168.2.3, and the default IP address of
CANWiFi-200T device is 192.168.0.178.
After login the operating system, users right-click Network Neighborhood to select
Properties. At this time, the network connection window is opened, then select Local
Area Connection icon (Note, this connection is to connect the CANWiFi-200T device
network. If users use multiple network interface cards, there may be several local
connections, please pay attention to select), then right-click Local Area Connection to
select Properties. The pop-up window is shown in Figure 3-5.

Select the “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”item of “This connection uses the following items
(D):”on the “General”page. Click Properties to pop up the window, as shown in Figure
3-6.

Click “Add…” button of the “IP addresses (R)”on the “IP settings”page, and then the
pop-up window is shown in Figure 3-8.

Fill in values according to above figure, and then press “Add (A)”button, finally press
OK to exit. Now, the CANWiFi-200T device can communicate with the PC.
2. Modify local IP address
After login the operating system, users click “Start” “Setting” “Control Panel” on the
taskbar (or, directly click the “Control Panel”in the “My Computer”), then double-click
“Network and Dial-up Connection” (or “Network Connection”) icon, and then click “Local
Area Connection”of the network interface card corresponded to the CANWiFi-200T
device. Right click to select “Properties”, and then select “Internet protocol (TCP/IP)”on
the pop-up “General” page to check its “Properties”, as shown in Figure 3-9. Please
select “Use the following IP address”according to the figure, then fill in the IP address of
192.168.0.55, Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and default gateway of 192.168.0.1 (the

DNS field can be ignored). Click OK on this page as well as on the “Local Area
Connection Properties” page, and wait for system configuration completion.

Now, the CANWiFi-200T device can communicate with the PC.
3.4 Communication between CANWiFi-200T and USBCAN
Interface Card
We need a device with CAN port to help demonstrate how the CANWiFi-200T device
implements bidirectional transparent conversion of CAN network data and Ethernet
data. Here we use the USBCAN-II interface card, which is very convenient to use, and
its related information can be found on the website http://www.zlg.cn/.
First, connect the CANWiFi-200T device to a PC with the cable, and connect the
CANWiFi-200T CAN0 port to the USBCAN-II CAN0 port with the twisted pair (the CANH
terminals are connected; the CANL terminals are connected; pay attention to configure
a 120 ohm terminal resistance). And then use the USB cable to connect the USBCAN-II
interface card to the PC, and finally power up the USBCAN-II interface card and
CANWiFi-200T device. Then run the CANtest software on the PC (as shown in Figure
3-10). The CANtest test software can be found in the product CD (need to install).
