1. Logintothe4GMobileHotspotcongurationpage.
2. Select Settings > Wi-Fi Settings > Basic Settings.
3. Changethe Network Name (SSID)orthe Pass
Phrase( Password)in the MainSSID/Guest SSID
area.
4. Click Apply.

Connection Scenarios
The device can access the Internet in two ways and it
allowsmultipleclientstosurfon theInternetatthesame
time.Thefollowingguresareforyourreferenceonly.
• 4G Mode: A(U)SIMcard canbeused toaccess the
Internet.
• Internet Wi-Fi Mode: Yourdevicecanbeconnected
toaWLANdevice(suchasahotspotdevice or
wirelessrouter)throughWi-Fitoaccessthe Internet.
TheWLANdevice mustbealreadyconnectedto the
Internet.
NOTE: YourdeviceandtheWLANdevicemustbein
differentsubnets.
1. Openthe(U)SIMcardcover.
NOTE:
Donotremovethecover rudely,becauseitisconnected
withthedevice.
2. Installa(U)SIMcardtothe(U)SIMcardslot.
WARNING! Yourdevicedoes notsupport themicro-
SIMcard andnano-SIM cardor anyothernon-standard
SIM cards. To avoid damage to the device, do not use
thosecardsoranycardholders.
3. Closethe(U)SIMcardcover.
Using Wi-Fi
1. Poweronyourdevice.
2. Make sureyour computeror otherclientdevices
haveenabledWi-Fi,andsearchforavailable
wir ele ss net works.
NOTE: Referto yourWi-Fi-enabled clientdevice
manualforfurtherdetailsonhowtosearchfor
wirelessnetworks.Ifyouuseacomputer,you
need to set your computer to obtain anIP address
automatically.
3. Select the Wi-Fi name (SSID)of your device, and
click Connect.
4. EntertheWi-Fipasswordifnecessary,andclickOK.
NOTE:Refertothe chapter Getting to Know the
Wi-Fi SSID and Passwordto get the default Wi-Fi
SSIDandpassword.
5. Waituntilthe clientdeviceisconnectedtoyour
devicesuccessfully.
Using a USB Cable
1. Connectacomputertoyour devicewithaUSB
cable.
2. Poweronyourdevice.Theoperatingsystemdetects
andidentifiesnewhardware,andautomatically
installsthehardware.
NOTE: If the system does not automatically launch
installation, you can run the installationprogram in
the My Computer / Smartbro PocketWipath.
3. Waituntil the computer is connected to your device
successfully.
YoucanusethefollowingmethodstogetthedefaultWi-
FiSSIDandpassword.
• Viewthelabelonthedevice.
• PresstheWPS Key.TheWi-FiSSID isdisplayedon
thescreen.
NOTE: Yourdevicedon’thave Wi-Ficonnection
password,itwillkeepturningon.

5. ConnecttotheWi-Fihotspot.
Thefollowingtwomethodsareforyourreference.
u Selecta Wi-Fi hotspotlisted in theWi-Fi Hotspot
area, enter a passphrase in the Pass Phrase text
boxandclickApply.
uClick Add,enter theWi-Fi hotspotinformation inthe
AddWi-FiHotspotarea,andclickApply.
Afterthe clientdeviceis connectedtothe Wi-Fihotspot
successfully,youcanaccesstheInternet.
Thefollowing procedure describeshow to congurethe
InternetProtocol inthe Windows7 operatingsystemfor
yourWi-Ficonnection.
1. Right-clickNetworkandselectProperties.
2. Select Change adapter settings.
3. Right-clickWireless Network Connectionand
select Properties.
4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4),and
click Properties.
5. Select Obtain an IP address automatically and
Obtain DNS server address automatically, and
click OK.

• Ifinadequately shielded,some electronic devices,for

powered on. Power offthe device if necessary. Consult
aphysician orthe manufacturersof medical instruments

• Beaware of the usagelimitation when using thedevice
atplaces such as oil warehouses or chemicalfactories,
where there are explosive gases orexplosive products
beingprocessed.Poweroffthedeviceifnecessary.
• Do not use electronic transmission devices in aircrafts,
atpetrolstations orinhospitals. Observeandobey
allwarningsigns, andpower offthedevice inthese
conditions.
• Do not touch the inner antenna area unless necessary.
Otherwisetheperformanceofthedevicemaybe
affected.
• Donot use thedevice in an enclosedenvironment or
where heat dissipation is poor.Prolonged work in such
spacemaycause excessiveheat andraiseambient
temperature, which may lead to automatic shutdown of
thedeviceforyoursafety.Inthecaseofsuchevent,cool
thedeviceina well-ventilatedplacebeforeturning onfor
normaluse.
• Keepthedevice out of the reach of smallchildren. The
devicemaycauseaninjuryifusedasatoy.
• Whenthe device is operating, do not touchthe metallic
parts.Failingtodosomaycauseburns.

• Useoriginalaccessoriesoraccessoriesthatare
authorized.Using any unauthorizedaccessories may
affecttheperformance ofthe deviceandviolate the
relatednationalregulationsabouttelecomterminals.
• Avoidusingthedevicenearorinsidemetallic
constructionsorestablishmentsthatcanemit
electromagneticwaves,becausesignalreceptionmaybe
affected.
• The device is not waterproof. Keep the device dry and
storeitinashadyandcoolplace.
• Donotusethedeviceimmediatelyafterasudden
temperaturechange, because dew may begenerated
insideandoutsidethedevice.Donot useituntilit
becomesdry.
• Handlethe device carefully.Do not drop, bend orstrike
it.Otherwisethedevicemaybedamaged.
• Only qualifiedpersonnel can dismantle and repair the
device.
• Anoperatingtemperaturebetween-10°Cand+45°Cand
humiditybetween5%and95%arerecommended.
Using Battery
Donotchange thebuilt-inrechargeable batteryin your
devicebyyourself.The batterycanonly bechangedby ZTE
orZTEauthorizedserviceprovider.
