Go-Panel Use & Operation
Mounting the Go-Panel: The integrated friction hinge has a 5/8” receiver and can
be mounted to a light stand or C-Clamp. Double check that all knobs and bolts are
tightened securely after each time the fixture is aimed or installed. If used overhead
on a grid, truss, or batten, please secure the fixture and barn doors with a safety
cable in accordance to local regulations.
To adjust the tilt of the fixture, firmly hold the light stand and push on the top of the
Go-Panel. The tension on the friction hinge is not adjustable. It is rated to tens of
thousands of cycles. Do not attempt to loosen the screws on the friction hinge as this
will weaken the stability of the fixture and create a safety hazard. Should your friction
hinge need service, please contact the Zylight service department.
The Go-Panel has an integrated twist-and-lock ball mount receiver plate. This
plate may be used with existing lollipop style mounting systems and doubles as an
optional battery or AC adaptor mounts for the Go-Panel. (See the next section
regarding power mounting options.)
Power Connection
All cord connections from the Power Supply to the fixture should be done prior to
connecting to mains power!
Use GFCI surge protectors whenever possible to protect your equipment against
voltage spikes and for your safety.
Power Supply: The Zylight Go-Panel is powered through a 4-pin XLR connector by
either the included Worldwide AC Adapter (Part # 1002555), or by Zylight Go-Panel
Battery Plates (14.4V). First, insert the 4-pin XLR connector to the DC-Input jack on
the fixture before connecting the power supply to main power!
AC Operation: Use only the included Worldwide AC Adapter (Part # 1002555).
During use, the AC Adapter can be held by either the AC Adapter Bag (Part # 19-
02042) or directly mounted to the fixture back plate utilizing the optional Go-Panel AC
Mounting Plate (Part # 1005148).
The AC Adapter Bag (Part # 19-02042) securely holds the AC Adapter to hang on a
light stand or another secure location via the attached quick release strap. The AC
cord passes through the bottom of the bag with the 4-pin XLR exiting at the top. Be
sure to tighten the cinch cord to secure the Power Supply.
The AC Mounting Plate (Part # 1005148) works on a twist and lock principle. Match
the four pins on the AC plate to the four holes on the back of the fixture and turn
clockwise until the pull pin clicks into place. Mount the power supply via the hook
and loop strap and then connect the 4-Pin XLR to the DC Input on the fixture before
connection to main power.

Page 6
Power Connection Cont.
Battery Operation: The Go-Panel accepts DC voltage between 10-20 Volts. Input
voltages of more than 20 volts will cause damage to the fixture! For battery operation,
use only the Zylight Go-Panel Battery Plates:
1005080 - Gold-Mount Battery Plate with Cable
1005081 - V-Mount Battery Plate with Cable
First insert the 4-Pin XLR connector to the DC-Input Jack on the rear of the fixture
before attaching the battery to the plate!
Failure to provide recommended power to the fixture may result in failure of the
fixture or power sources. Please also observe correct polarity. For reference, pin #1 is
negative and pin #4 is positive.

Mode knob to the right to increase the diffusion level and to the left to decrease
diffusion level. A value between 0D (Clear) and 100D (Full Diffusion) may be set.
Note on diffusion: All types of diffusion (silk, plastics, cloth, metal screens) are proven
to cause color shift. This especially holds true for daylight sources. The Go-Panel
automatically compensates for this color shift by adjusting its built-in colored
LEDs over the full range of diffusion. You may notice the colored LEDs during the
adjustment of Active Diffusion. This is normal and part of our proprietary color
balancing process.

DMX Control
Operating the Go-Panel from a DMX controller gives users the option to remotely
control all features of the Go-Panel. The Go-Panel has two RJ45 connections for
DMX IN and OUT when linking lights in a DMX chain. They are normally covered by
a silicone protector on the bottom right side of the panel.
DMX512 cables must be used for DMX data transmission (not microphone cable)
and should follow the standard pin-out. The maximum DMX data run from any DMX
source to the last fixture in a chain is 1000 feet (300m).
DMX-512 Pin-Out:
1. Common (Shield)
2. Data –
3. Data +
4. Not Connected
5. Not Connected
To enable DMX Mode on the Go-Panel, press and hold down the Mode knob for
5 seconds. The fixture will enter DMX mode and display “DMX”. Entering DMX
mode will turn off the LEDs if they were previously on in Manual Mode. Release the
button and turn the Dimmer knob to select a start address number for the fixture. A
start address of 1 to 508 can be selected for each light. The Mode knob will now be
disabled while in DMX mode. All control of the fixture will happen on your DMX
console, including turning the fixture ON and OFF as well as all dimming, color, and
diffusion controls.

Maintenance
From time to time, your fixture may need a drop or two of oil at the friction hinge
to keep your Go-Panel operating at its optimal condition. A few simple drops of a
3-in-1 or Teflon based lubricating oil at each pivot seam will keep the friction hinges
operating smoothly and quietly.
Go-Panel can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. In case of heavy soiling,
moisten a cloth with soap solution, then dry the fixture with a dry cloth. DO NOT USE
DETERGENT, ALCOHOL OR SOLVENT.
This fixture has an IP rating of 64 which protects it from reasonable exposure to
dust and rain. It is not waterproof and cannot be exposed to extended heavy rain,
moisture, or submerged in water. Please take care to avoid prolonged exposure to
moisture or water.
