Hardware Installation
1. Connect your HDMI sources to the HDMI input connectors.
2. Connect your HDMI enabled monitors into the device’s HDMI loop output port.
3. Connect your stereo S/PDIF AV receiver into the device’s RCA output port.
4. Connect your 7.1ch or 5.1ch speakers into the device’s RCA output ports.
5. Power up the EX-G040.
EDID Learning
1. Power up the EX-G040. Connect display to HDMI Output.
2. To learn EDID for HDMI Input #1 source, pull up-and-down the DIP switch 1 to ON to complete
the EDID learning process. You DON’T NEED to pull up the DIP switch again unless you want to
learn another EDID by pulling DIP switch 1 up and down once more.
3. To learn EDID for HDMI Input #2 source, pull up-and-down the DIP switch 2 to ON to complete
the EDID learning process. You DON’T NEED to pull up the DIP switch again unless you want to
learn another EDID by pulling DIP switch 2 up and down once more.
Notice
1. Depends upon the content of DVD, analog stereo audio output can support up to 7.1-channel
audio.
2. S/PDIF audio output supports main 2-channel audio output only.
3. The main purpose of lower the HDMI 1.3 resolution to HDMI 1.2 is to increase the transmission
distance without creating noticeable video quality distortion.

Limited Warranty
The SELLER warrants the EX-G040 2x1 HDMI 1.3 Switch & 7.1ch Audio Decoder to be free
from defects in the material and workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase from the SELLER
or an authorized dealer. Should this product fail to be in good working order within 1 year warranty
period, The SELLER, at its option, repair or replace the unit, provided that the unit has not been
subjected to accident, disaster, abuse or any unauthorized modifications including static discharge and
power surges.
Unit that fails under conditions other than those covered will be repaired at the current price of
parts and labor in effect at the time of repair. Such repairs are warranted for 90 days from the day of
reshipment to the BUYER. If the unit is delivered by mail, customers agree to insure the unit or
assume the risk of loss or damage in transit. Under no circumstances will a unit be accepted without a
return authorization number.
The warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, including without limitations,
any other implied warranty or fitness or merchantability for any particular purpose, all of which are
expressly disclaimed.
Proof of sale may be required in order to claim warranty. Customers outside Taiwan are
responsible for shipping charges to and from the SELLER. Cables are limited to a 30 day warranty and
cable must be free from any markings, scratches, and neatly coiled.

electronic equipments, EX-G040 should be used with care. Please read and follow the safety

Introduction
The EX-G040 2x1 HDMI 1.3 Switch & 7.1ch Audio Decoder offers the highest compatibility to
HDMI 1.3 in the market. This unique device supports the separation of high quality audio such as
DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD from the incoming HDMI signal and make HDMI audio more friendly to
your expensive audio systems. Plus, the high bit rate HDMI 1.3 data can be scaled down the color
depth, which is compliant to HDMI 1.2 and DVI 1.1, to ease the limitation of the transmission distance
and gain higher compatibility to the display without noticeable video degradation. To broaden the
spectrum of HDMI audio output, high quality 7.1-channel analog audio outputs come with this mini
converter. Furthermore, stereo S/PDIF with Toslink and RCA connectors are also seamlessly
integrated into this adapter.
EX-G040 is designed to enrich your full digital video and audio experiences at the least expense in
a smoothest way. With built-in HDMI switch, this adapter is able to easily switch between HDMI home
theater devices and PC DVI devices.
