Software Upgrade SOP
1. Install USB Driver
1.1 Run “Install.bat” Which in Driver_Auto_Installer_V1.352.00
2. When you upgrade the FW, you can see the follow item if the driver is install ok

3. Upgrade Phone SW
3.1 Open “Flash tool”
3.2 Load “Scatter File”, Tap scatter loading choose “MT6582…TXT” and loading

3. Choose ”Firmware Upgrade” and then click the “Download”.
Note：step1~3，the device is Power off and not connect the computer

**If MB changed or repaired, please do CID Modification** after flash
image
If you don’t execute “CID modification”after flash, there might be
some APP or function not workable.
**CID Modification SOP**
1. Dial #2237243# (Its meaning is #CID#) to enter main menu.
2. Put the value of CID for the country region as the indicated location No.1.
3. Press the “Set”button as the indicated location No.2.
4. Select “Backup to NVRAM”as the indicated location No.3.

5. Press ok button as the indicated location No.4.
SW (SD Card) full upgrade SOP
1. Go to Settings —> About phone.

2. After you record down “Build number”, power off the device.
3. Copy the upgrade file to root path of externalSD card, and insert to the device.
Normally, the upgrade file would be
update-Acer_AV0L0_Z530_0.012.00_EMEA_GEN1-user-sd.zip
But if we need to upgradefrom/to DIFFERENT SKU, please select the “sds” upgrade file
update-Acer_AV0L0_Z530_0.012.00_EMEA_GEN1-user-sds.zip
Please notice the difference between update-xxx-sd.zip and updatexxx-sds.zip. And make sure
there is enough free space (at least 2G) AFTER you put the update file to SD card.
4. Keep press Volume up and power button for 10 seconds and you will entering “Recovery Mode” as
the Figure 2. Use Volumeup/down to move highlight; Use power key to select.

5. Press Volume down to “apply update from sdcard” and press Power key to trigger next step.
6. PressVolume up/down to select the updatefile and press Power key to triggernext step. After you
presspower key, you should see the device works like Figure 5. Please wait for few minutes for

7. Once theupdate success, you can see some information from the screen. You should see the “Install
from sdcard complete” like below.
8. Please choose “reboot system now” to boot to Android OS. Double confirm the build version from
Settings —> About Phone. Compare the Build number to step 2, it should be different and match the

image version of the update file.
FAQ:
Some possible update fail reason:
(1) If the screen shows install fail. If could be possible that you are trying to apply a wrong update
package. Please makesure you use the correct update-xxx-sd.zip for correct SKU.
If you are trying to update from SKU A to SKU B, pleasemake sure yourupdate file is SKU B’s
update-xxx-sds.zip
(2) There is another possible that the update file is corrupted when you copy it to the SD card from PC
for some reason. Please delete the corrupted file on SD card and copyfrom an appropriate
PC resource or even use another SD card for test.

PPPPPPPPPP: Acer KC PN (2-5-3 code) which is from the BOM by PM, 10 characters, without dots.
YWW: 1 digit of year and 2 digits for week code.
Y is for the last digit of year. For example: 9 if for 2009, 0 is for 2010, 1 for 2011, etc.
WW (week code) is counted from 01 to 53, and the definition of week 01 follows ISO 8601.
SSSSS: 5 unique hexadecimal codes, by manufacturer/factory base and reset every week.
Hexadecimal has 16 digits, they are 0~9,A, B, C, D, E and F.
First digit of SSSSS can not be F, so the maximum value of SSSSS is Hex (EFFFF) = 983039.
MM: Manufacturer code of original supplier or vendor herself, two digits defined by Acer.
VV: Engineering version code, two characters defined by ODM/vendor or original supplier.
