Disposal of Waste
Safety Precautions and Maintenance
Safety precautions
Do not place any heavy objects on the power cord. Damage to the cord may
cause shock or fire.
When operating the LCD monitor with its AC/DC power supply, use a power
supply cord you use must have been approved by and comply with the interna-
tional safety standards.
Do not bend the power cord.
DO NOT OPEN THE MONITOR. There are no user serviceable parts inside and
opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous shock hazards or
other risks. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Do not place this product on a sloping or unstable cart, stand or table, as the
Monitor may fall, caus- ing serious breakdown.
Do not spill any liquids into the cabinet or never use your monitor near water.
Do not insert any kinds of objects into the cabinet slots, as they may touch dan-
gerous voltage points, which can be harmful or fatal or may cause electric
shock, fire or equipment failure.
Do not cover vents on the Monitor.
Do not place any objects onto the Monitor and do not use the Monitor outdoors.
The inside of the fluorescent tube located in the LCD monitor contains Mercury.
Please follow the bylaws or rules of your municipality to dispose of the tube
properly.
Do not use a monitor in very hot, humid, dusty or oily areas.
If a monitor or glass is broken, handle with care. Do not come in contact with the
liquid crystal.
Only use 120 Volt in North America area with UL Listed detachable power cord
with NEMA configu- ration 5-15P type (parallel blades) plug cap.
This marking shown on the product or its literature, indicates that it
should not be disposed with other household waste at the end of its
working life. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human
health from uncontrolled waste disposal, please separate this from other
types of wastes and recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable
reuse of material resources.
Household users should contact either the retailer where they
purchased this product, or their local government office, for
details of where and how they can take this item for environmen-
tally safe recycling.
Business users should contact their supplier and check the terms
and conditions of the purchase contract. This product should not
be mixed with other commercial waste for disposal.

When the power supply cord or plug is damaged.
If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the Monitor.
If the Monitor has been exposed to rain or water.
If the Monitor has been dropped or the cabinet damaged
If the Monitor does not operate normally by following operating instructions.
Allow adequate ventilation around the Monitor so that heat can properly dissi-
pate. Do not block ventilated openings or place the Monitor near a radiator or
other heat sources. Do not put anything on top of the Monitor.
The power cable connector is the primary means of detaching the system from
the power supply. The Monitor should be installed close to a power outlet which
is easily accessible.
Handle with care when transporting. Save packing for transporting.
Safety
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if
not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to other devices in the vicinity. However, there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does
cause harmful interference to other devices, which can be determined by turn-
ing the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the inter-
ference by one or more of the following measures:
1. Reorient or relocate the receiving device.
2. Increase the separation between the equipment.
3. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the
other device(s) are connected.
4. Consult the manufacturer or field service technician for help.
Keep away from a window
Do not place your LCD Monitor near a window to protect the Monitor from being
exposed to rain, water, moisture or sunlight that can severely damage it.
Caution! IMMEDIATELY UNPLUG THE MONITOR FROM THE WALL OUTLET
AND REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE POWER PER-
SONNEL UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
Warning! High Voltage
The AC/DC inverter where high voltage current flows has the following
'CAUTION mark against high voltage' and you should never open the
monitor to access the inverter. Please refer to a technician for the ser-
vice, if it is necessary.

Safe storage
Safe storage of the LCD Monitor is in a range of minus 20 to plus 60 Celsius
(68°F - 149°F). Storing the LCD Monitor out of this range could result in perma-
nent damage.
Image Persistence
Image persistence is what a residual or ghost image of a previous image
remains visible on the screen. Unlike CRT monitors, LCD monitors' image per-
sistence is not permanent, but constant im- ages being displayed for a long
period of time should be avoided.
To alleviate image persistence, turn off the Monitor for as long as the previous
image was displayed. For example, if an image was on the Monitor for one hour
and a residual image remains, the Monitor should be turned off for one hour to
erase the image.
Placement and Adjustment of the Monitor
For optimum performance of the system, one hour warm-up is recommended.
Adjust the Monitor height so that the top of the screen is at or slightly below eye
level. Your eyes should look slightly downward when viewing the middle of the
screen.
Rest your eyes periodically by focusing on an object farther away and blinking
often.
Position the Monitor at a 90 degree angle to windows and other light sources to
minimize glare and reflections. Adjust the Monitor tilt so that ceiling lights do not
reflect on your screen.
You can use an antiglare filter to have a better view out of the reflected light.
Clean the LCD monitor surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Avoid using
any cleaning solution or glass cleaner.
Adjust the Monitor's brightness and contrast controls to enhance readability.
Avoid displaying fixed patterns on the Monitor for long periods of time to avoid
image persistence (residual image).
Battery Related
When you remove the batteries from the remote control, keep the batteries out
of the reach of children. If a child swallows the battery, consult your doctor
immediately.
When replacing the batteries, insert the batteries with the correct polarities (+, -
). If the batteries are inserted incorrectly, the batteries may implode or the inter-
nal chemicals may leak, which may result in fire, injury or contaminate the envi-
ronment.
Note! As with all personal display devices, Advantech recommends using a
moving screen saver at regular intervals whenever the screen is idle or
turning off the Monitor when not in use.
Note! For optimal view, 508 mm (20 inches) distance from your eyes to the
screen is rec- ommended.

Used batteries including rechargeable batteries must be disposed of separately
and collected for recycling. Used batteries and rechargeable batteries can be
handled by a nearby recycling center or agency that deals in batteries or
rechargeable batteries.
Use only designated standard batteries. Do not use new batteries with old
one(s). The batteries may implode or the internal chemicals may leak, which
may result in fire, injury or contaminate the environment.

1.1 Introduction
The Medical LCD Monitor is intended to use in various types of medical image appli-
cations for which the device complies with the performance specified by the manu-
facturer of the system. The LCD monitor KT-E320FEE contains a 32-inch color TFT
LCD monitor designed for the needs of high-resolution medical image display.
1.2 Features
Pixelworks DNX™ (Digital Natural Expression) technology for video format

2.1 Unpacking
Before you unpack the LCD monitor, prepare a suitable workspace, which should be
a stable, flat, dust free surface, near a wall outlet. Set up the LCD monitor in a place
that ensures sufficient airflow and is away from direct sunlight.
When unpacking, make sure the following items are included in the box.

If you find any of these items are missing or damaged, contact your dealer or the

2.2 Using The Stand (Optional)
