Installation
• Any installation work must be undertaken by a
qualified electrician or competent person.
• T is ood must be installed in accordance wit
t e installation instructions and all measurements
ad ered to.
• If t e cooker ood is installed for use above a gas
appliance t en t e provision for ventilation must
be in accordance wit t e Gas Safety Code of
Practice BS.6172, BS.5440 and BS.6891 (natural
gas) and BS.5482 (LP gas) 1994, t e Gas Safety
(Installation & Use) Regulations, t e Building
Regulations issued by t e Dept. of t e
Environment, t e Building Standards (Scotland)
(Consolidated) Regulations issued by t e Scottis
Development Department.
• T e fan motor of t e cooker ood incorporates a
cut-out device, w ic will operate if t e cooker
ood is installed below t e minimum eig t
recommended in t e Tec nical Information
section, or if t e motor becomes over eated. If
t e cut-out device is activated, switc off t e motor
and allow t e ood to cool. T e cut-out device
will reset itself w en t e fan motor as cooled.
• It is dangerous to alter t e specifications or modify
t is product in any way.
• W en installed between adjoining wall cabinets,
t e cabinets must not over ang t e ob.
• If t e room w ere t e ood is to be used contains
a fuel burning appliance suc as a central eating
boiler t en its flue must be of t e room sealed or
balanced flue type.
• If ot er types of flue or appliances are fitted ensure
t at t ere is an adequate supply of air to t e room.
• W en t e ood is used in conjunction wit
appliances supplied wit energy ot er t an
electricity, t e negative pressure in t e room must
not exceed 0.04mbar to prevent fumes being
drawn back into t e room by t e ood.
• T e ducting system for t is appliance must not be
connected to any existing ventilation system w ic
is being used for any ot er purpose.
• Do not install above a cooker wit a ig level
grill.

• Never leave frying pans unattended during use
as over- eated fats and oils mig t catc fire.
• Never do flambé cooking under t is cooker ood.
• Do not leave naked flames under t is ood.
Maintenance and Service
• T is appliance can be a fire azard if t e grease
and c arcoal filters are not cleaned or replaced
as recommended.
• Under no circumstances s ould you attempt to
repair t e appliance yourself. Repairs carried out
by inexperienced persons may cause injury or
serious malfunctioning. Refer to your local Service
Force Centre. Always insist on genuine spare
parts.

YOUR APPLIANCE
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
T is cooker ood is designed to extract unpleasant
odours from t e kitc en, it will not extract steam.
To obtain t e best performance it is advisable to switc
on t e ood a few minutes before you start cooking and
leave it running for approximately 15 minutes after
finis ing.
Coo er Hood Controls
V1. Pus to engage t e low speed, for use wit one
burner or simmering.
V2. Pus to engage t e medium speed, for normal
cooking up to four pans.
V3. Pus to engage t e ig speed, for use w en
frying or cooking foods wit strong odours.
L. Pus to switc on t e worktop illumination lamps.

T is cooker ood can be used to recirculate or extract
contaminated air.
Recirculation
T e cooker ood is supplied specified for use in t e
recirculation mode wit t e c arcoal filter fitted.
T e contaminated air is cleaned by passing t roug t e
filters and t an back into t e kitc en.
T e activated c arcoal filter absorbs odours arising from
cooking. In use it will slowly become saturated in grease
and less effective. T e filter normally requires c anging
after at least every t ree mont s or more frequently if
t e ood is used for more t an t ree ours per day.
Extraction
T e contamined air enters t e cooker ood passing
t roug t e grease filter and out t roug t e ducting into
t e atmosp ere.
W en used in t e extraction mode t e c arcoal filter is
not required and must be removed.
Never do flambé cooking under this
cooker hood.
Take extra care when frying and never
leave frying pans unattended during
use, as over-heated fats and oils can
catch fire.
Do not leave naked flames under the
cooker hood.
nsure the hood is switched on
before using the hob.
nsure heating areas on your hob are
covered with pots and pans when using
the hob and cooker hood
simultaneously.
nsure not to damage the charcoal filter
when cleaning or replacing as the activated
charcoal inside is saturated with grease,
which will stain if it comes into contact
with clothing or furnishings.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Before carrying out any maintenance or
cleaning isolate the cooker hood from the
mains supply.
The cooker hood must be kept clean, a build
up of grease or fat can be a fire hazard.
External Cleaning
T e metal casing, grille and c imney s ould be cleaned
at least once a mont to keep it looking like new. Wipe
over t e ood wit a soft clot wrung out in mild
soapy water and t en dry t oroug ly.
Never use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners as t ey
may scratc or damage t e surfaces.
Always wear protective gloves when cleaning
the hood.
Never use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
Never use excessive amounts of water when
cleaning particularly around the control panel.
Metal Grease Filter
T e metal grease filter s ould be cleaned at least every
mont . T e filter may be was ed by and using mild
soapy water, or can be mac ine was ed in a
dis was er.
To Remove the Grease Filter
Remove t e metal grease filter cassette by pus ing
inwardly on t e two steel andles; replace, making sure
t e andle as sprung back into position and is
completely visible.
Charcoal Filter
T e c arcoal filter cannot be cleaned, it s ould be
replaced approximately every t ree mont s or more often
if t e ood is used for more t an t ree ours per day.

To Remove the Charcoal Filter
Pus inwardly on t e two retaining clips to disengage
t e security fixing and remove.
This appliance can be a fire hazard if the
grease and charcoal filters are not
cleaned and replaced as recommended.
Wor top Lighting
T e lamps s ould be replaced wit a 220-240V 20W
alogen spot lamp.
To Remove the Lamps
Unscrew t e two screws to release t e metal surround.
Remove a lamp from t e older by pulling t e lamp
downwards.
W en fitting t e new lamp ensure t e two pins are
correctly inserted into t e slots in t e lamp older.
Charcoal filters, grease filters and lamps can be
obtained from your local Service Force Centre.

SOMETHING NOT WORKING
SERVICE AND SPARE PARTS
If, aving followed t ese instructions carefully, your cooker ood fails to work properly please carry out
t e following c ecks.
Symptom
The coo er hood will not start
The coo er hood is not wor ing effectively
The coo er hood has switched off during
operation
If after all t ese c ecks, t e problem persists,
contact your local Service Force Centre,
quoting t e model and serial number.
Please note t at it will be necessary to
provide proof of purc ase for any
in-guarantee service calls.
Solution
• C eck t e ood is connected to t e electricity supply.
• C eck t at t e fan speed control is set to 1, 2 or 3.
• T e fan speed is set ig enoug for t e task.
• T e grease filter is clean.
• T e kitc en is adequately vented to allow t e entry
of fres air.
• If set up for recirculation, c eck t at t e c arcoal
filter is still effective.
• If set up for extraction, c eck t at t e ducting and
outlets are not blocked.
• T e safety cut-out device as been tripped.
• Tum off t e ob and t en wait for t e device to reset.
In-guarantee customers should ensure
that the above chec s have been made as
the engineer will ma e a charge if the fault
is not a mechanical or electrical
brea down.

We, AEG, undertake t at if wit in 12 mont s of t e date of t e purc ase t is AEG built-in appliance or any part
t ereof is proved to be defective by reason only of faulty workmans ip or materials, t e company will, at our option,
repair or replace t e same FREE OF ANY CHARGE for labour, materials and carriage on condition t at:
• T e appliance as been correctly installed and used only on t e electrical supply stated on t e rating plate.
• T e appliance as been used for normal domestic purposes only, and in accordance wit t e manufacturer’s
operating and maintenance instructions.
• T e appliance as not been serviced, maintained, repaired, taken apart or tampered wit by any person not
aut orised by us.
• All service work under t is guarantee must be undertaken by an AEG Service Force Centre.
• Any appliances or defective parts replaced s all become t e property of t is company.
Home visits are made between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Visits may be available outside t ese ours

EXCLUSIONS
This Guarantee does not cover:
• Damage or calls resulting from transportation, improper use or neglect, t e replacement of any lig t bulbs or
removable parts of glass or plastic.
• Costs incurred for calls to put rig t appliances improperly installed or calls to appliances outside t e United
Kingdom.
• Appliances found to be in use wit in a commercial environment, plus t ose w ic are t e subject of rental
agreements.

EUROPEAN GUARANTEE
If you move to anot er country wit in Europe t en your guarantee moves wit you to your new ome subject to t e

local Electricity Board regulations. For your own

electrician e.g. your local Electricity Board, or a

Inspection Council for Electrical Installation
Contracting (NICEIC).
Electrical Connection
Before connecting to t e mains supply ensure
t at t e mains voltage corresponds to t e
voltage on t e rating plate inside t e cooker
ood.
T is appliance is fitted wit a 3 core mains
cable and must be permanently connected to
t e electricity supply via a double-pole switc
aving 3mm minimum contact gap on eac
pole. A Switc ed Fuse Connection Unit to
BS1363 Part 4, fitted wit a 3 Amp fuse, is a
recommended mains supply connection
accessory to ensure compliance wit t e Safety
Requirements applicable to fixed wiring
instructions.
T is appliance conforms to BS 800: 1988 and
EEC Directive No. 78 308 regarding
suppression of radio and television

INSTALLING THE COOKER HOOD
Please ensure that when the appliance is installed it
is easily accessible to an engineer in the event of a
brea down.
All installations must comply with the
local authorities requirements for the
discharge of exhaust air.
Incorrect installation may affect the
safety of this cooker hood.
Installation Requirements
Before installation check the wall to
which the cooker hood is to be fitted for
electric cables, water pipes or gas.
T e cooker ood is designed to be fixed to any rigid
vertical surface over a cooking area, and can be used in
t e extraction (ducted to t e outside) or recirculation
(internal recycling) mode.
T e Installation work must be undertaken by a qualified
and competent person. T e manufacturer disclaims any
responsibility to damages due to incorrect installation of
t e cooker ood or if t e cooker ood is not installed in
compliance wit relevant regulations controlling t is type
of installation.
Unpac ing
Before unpacking t e cooker ood position t e carton
wit t e arrows pointing upwards as illustrated on t e
carton.
The canopy is supplied with the following
components for installation:
1 No. Canopy including controls and worktop illumination (C).
1 No. Telescopic c imney stack complete wit fan motor (A).

Hob
Clearance Heights
T e cooker ood is designed to be fitted over a cooking
appliance at t e clearance eig ts stated, provided t e
maximum output of t e appliance beneat does not
exceed t e maximums quoted in t e Tec nical
Specifications.
If t e output of t e appliance below t e cooker ood
exceeds t e maximum outputs quoted, please refer to
t e cooker manufacturer’s installation instructions.
A minimum clearance eig t of 650mm (25 1/2 ins) is
required w en installed above a built-in electric ob, or
700mm (27 1/2 ins) w en installed above a built-in gas
ob.
A minimum clearance eig t of 685mm (27 ins) is
required w en installed above a slot-in electric oven, or
787mm (30 1/2 ins) w en installed above a slot-in gas
oven.
W en installed between adjoining wall cabinets, t e wall
cabinets must not over ang t e ob and t e distance
beetween t e underside of t e cabinet and t e worktop
must be 450mm. If t e eig t of t e wall cabinet is less
t an 450mm a gap of 50mm must be maintained
eit er side of t e ob.
This cooker hood must not be installed
above a cooking appliance with a high
level grill.
Selecting the type of installation:
T e extraction unit at t e top of t e c imney can be
installed in one of t ree ways.
1. Air outlet turned upwards recirculation only (fig.
2a).
2. Air outlet turned towards t e wall -extraction only
(fig. 3).
3. Air outlet turned left or rig t -extraction only (fig.
4a and 4b).

Fixing the Chimney to the Canopy
1. Remove t e metal grease filter cassette by
pus ing inwardly on t e two steel andles.
2. To remove t e c arcoal filter pus inwardly on
t e two retaining clips to disengage t e security
fixing and remove.
3. Align t e fixing points on t e c imney wit t e
corresponding fixing points on t e canopy. Ensure
t e guide in t e two c imney sections is
positioned at t e back to face t e wall.
4. Fixing t e c imney stack :
Insert gasket G1 (found in t e accessory bag) on
t e base of c imney stack A, so t at it ad eres
perfectly to t e s ape of c imney stack A. T en
fix c imney stack A to t e ood unit C using four
of t e screws provided E.
5. Connect t e supply cable from t e canopy
(marked wit ad esive tape), to t e cable from
t e fan motor by pus ing toget er t e two (male
and female) connectors.
The metal grease filter and charcoal filter should not
be refitted until after the hood has been fixed to the
wall.
If the hood is to be fitted in conjunction with wooden
shelves or cornice see the separate installation
instructions before fixing the hood in position.
Fixing the hood to the wall:
W ic ever type of installation is to be carried out, if t e
ood is to be fitted in conjunction wit wooden s elves
t ese will require drilling before t e ood can be
installed.
Drilling the shelves:
Bottom Shelf
1. Use t e cardboard template provided to mark t e
ole positions on t e s elf.
2. Using ole ‘B’ as a reference point, drill t e s elf
along t e centre axis, for t e c imney to pass
t roug .

3. Slide t e c imney t roug t e ole in t e s elf
before fixing it to t e canopy.
Top Shelf
T e top s elf only requires drilling if t e ood is to be
installed wit t e air outlet turned upwards.
1. Use t e cardboard template provided to mark t e
ole position on t e s elf.
2. Using t e ole ‘B’ as a reference point, drill t e
s elf along t e centre axis for t e c imney to pass
t roug .
Installation in the recirculation mode:
T e cooker ood is specified for installation in t e
recirculation mode wit t e c arcoal filter fitted.
1. Draw a vertical line on t e wall from t e centre of
t e cooking appliance, using a spirit level and
marking pen. T is is to ensure t e correct vertical
alignment of t e appliance.
2. Using t e cardboard template provided mark t e
ole position (1) on t e wall 100mm eit er side
of t e vertical line ensuring t ey are level and
t at t e distance between t e lowest point of t e
ood and t e cooking appliance beneat meet
t e clearance requirements quoted in t e
paragrap titled ‘Clearance Heig ts’.
3. Using t e cardboard template mark t e ole
positions (to be used for fixing t e c imney)
30mm eit er side of t e vertical line. T e oles
must be drilled at a distance of (X) from t e
orizontal line running t roug t e centre of t e
canopy fixing oles (1), w ic is calculated by
measuring t e leng t of t e c imney required for
t e installation plus 15mm equal (Z).
4. Using a 8mm masonry bit, drill t e oles for t e
canopy and t e fan assembly and insert t e rawl
plugs provided ready for t e fixing screws.

5. Fix t e round eyelet screws provided tig tly into
t e oles (1).
6. Fix bracket (S) to t e fan assembly.
7. T e ood is supplied in t e recirculation mode,
wit t e recirculation grille (G) fitted over t e outlet
in t e top of t e fan assembly ready for use.
8. Insert t e 4.2x44.4mm screws to be used for
fixing t e fan assembly into t e rawl plugs and
tig ten about two t irds. Lower t e fan assembly
and c imney onto t e fixing bracket (S). Ensuring
t e screws locate into t e fixing bracket, t an
tig ten t e screws fully.
Installation with the air outlet turned
towards the wall:
1. Draw a vertical line on t e wall from t e centre of
t e cooking appliance, using a spirit level and
marking pen. T is is to ensure t e correct vertical
alignment of t e appliance.
2. Using t e cardboard template provided mark t e
ole positions (1) on t e wall 100mm eit er side
of t e vertical line ensuring t ey are level and
t at t e distance between t e lowest point of t e
ood and t e cooking appliance beneat meet
t e clearance requirements quoted in t e
paragrap titled ‘Clearance Heig ts’.

positions (to be used for fixing t e c imney)

for t e canopy and t e fan assembly and insert
t e rawl plugs provided ready for t e fixing
screws.

5. Mark t e position on t e wall and drill t e ole
for t e ducting. To calculate t e centre of t e ole
on t e wall for t e ducting, draw a orizontal line
(D) t roug t e vertical line 80mm above line (X)
T e round ducting to be used must be Ø125mm.
6. Fix t e round eyelet screws provided tig tly into
oles (1) and ook on t e canopy (C) ensuring
t e ooks are located into t e eyelets before
releasing t e canopy.
7. Unscrew t e self tapping screws from t e back
of t e fan assembly and remove t e plastic
surround.
8. Fit t e ducting flange (F) onto t e fan assembly
utilising t e same fixing oles and self tapping
screws.
9. Insert t e 4.2x44.4mm screws provided, for fixing
t e fan assembly and c imney into t e wall and
tig ten about two t irds. Lower t e fan assembly
and c imney onto t e fixing bracket (S), t an fully
tig ten t e screws.
Installation with the air outlet turned
left or right:
1. Draw a vertical line on t e wall from t e centre of
t e cooking appliance, using a spirit level and
marking pen. T is is to ensure t e correct vertical
alignment of t e appliance.
2. Using t e cardboard template provided mark t e
ole positions (1) on t e wall 100mm eit er side
of t e vertical line ensuring t ey are level and
t at t e distance between t e lowest point of t e
ood and t e cooking appliance beneat meet
t e clearance requirements quoted in t e
paragrap titled ‘Clearance Heig ts’.

positions (to be used for fixing t e fan assembly)
107.5mm on t e left or rig t of t e vertical line.
T e oles must be drilled at a distance of (X) from
t e orizontal line running t roug t e centre of
t e canopy fixing oles (1), w ic is calculated
by measuring t e leng t of t e c imney required
for t e installation plus 15mm to equal (Z).

4. Using a 8mm masonry bit, drill t e oles for t e
canopy and fan assembly and insert t e rawl
plugs ready for t e fixing screws.
5. T e ood is supplied wit t e air outlet facing
t e rear. To rotate t e extractor to face left or rig t
proceed as follows:
(A) Loosen t e screws (V1), turn t e extractor 60° to
t e left or rig t as required, t en tig ten t e
screws.
(B) To fix t e bracket (S), select t e left or rig t and
screw oles and using t e screw (V2) secure t e
bracket.
6. Unscrew t e four self tapping screws and remove
t e plastic surround.
7. Fit t e ducting spigot (R) using t e four self
tapping screws and replace t e plastic cover.
8. Fix t e round eyelet screws provided tig tly into
oles (1) and ook on t e canopy (C) ensuring
t e ooks are located into t e eyelets before
releasing t e canopy.
9. Unscrew t e self tapping screws from t e back
of t e fan assembly and remove t e plastic
surround.
10. Fit t e ducting flange (F) onto t e fan assembly

t e fan assembly and c imney into t e wall and
tig ten about two t irds. Lower t e fan assembly
and c imney onto t e fixing bracket (S), t en fully
tig ten t e screws.

Final fixing and adjustment of the
hood:
Two adjustable connectors are provided at t e rear of
t e ood.
(a) Turn t e screws (V1), until t e screws (V2) align
wit t e screw oles (F2).
(b) Adjust t e vertical and orizontal alignment using
screws (V2).
(c) Turn t e screw (V1) to secure t e ood to t e
wall.
(d) Insert t e plastic grommets provided into t e
screw oles (F2).
(e) Tig ten t e screws fixing t e canopy (C) to t e
c imney (A).
Ducting and recirculation fitting:
Ducting
1. W en ducting to t e outside t e c arcoal filter is
not required and must be removed and destroyed.
2. W en ducting from t e rear outlet using 125mm
round ducting it will be necessary to fit t e 120-
125mm ducting collar onto t e spigot (F) before
connecting t e ducting, to ensure an air tig t fit.
T is appliance must not be connected to ducting
wit a smaller diameter t an 120mm.
3. W en ducted from t e left or rig t and side, it
will be necessary to fit t e 60x204mm adapter
(W) for use wit flat c annel ducting to t e spigot
(R).
Recirculation
1. T e ood is supplied in t e recirculation mode,
wit t e c arcoal filter and t e recirculation grille
(G) fitted (over t e outlet in t e top of t e fan
assembly) ready for use.
2. T e c arcoal filter will ave to be removed during
installation to allow for electrical connection.

Electrical connection and wor ing
test:
1. Remove t e metal cover by unscrewing t e four
self tapping screws.
2. Connect t e ‘Pus -Fit’ connectors coming from
t e fan assembly to t e canopy.
3. Position t e terminals as illustrated under t e
cover and replace t e cover wit t e four self
tapping screws.
4. Once t e electrical connection as been
completed, c eck t at t e worktop lig ting, fan
motor and t e speed selection is working properly.
5. Replace t e c arcoal filter (if t e ood is to be
used in t e recirculation mode) and t e metal
grease filter cassette.
