The Aeotec MultiSensor is a USB or battery-powered
Z-Wave mo t ion sensor, temperature sensor, humidity
senso r, and lighting sensor all in one package. The
sensor will send radio signals to up to 6 associated
Z-Wave devices within its own Z-Wave network when
the Motion Se nsor detec ts IR changes in front of its
viewing window.
Indoor/Outdoor functional tolerances allow th e Aeotec
MultiSensor to function under weatheri zed condition s.
Various sensitivity levels can be configured to avoid
unintentional triggering from small animals such as cats
and dogs.
By taking ad v an t ag e of the Z-Wave mesh network,
commands
ca n be routed to their destination via
intermediary "listening· Z-Wave produc ts. Products that
are Z-Wave ce
rt ified can be used and communicate with
other Z-Wave certified devices.

The Aeotec Mui!ISensor must be paired (Inc l uded) into a
Z-Wave netwoo before it can send Basic Se t Command ,
Temperatur
e, Hum1dity, and Light level reports to
assoctatton group 1, wh1ch is setup via th e Asso ci ation
Command dass . The Mult1Sensor can only communicate
to dev1 ce :S Within Its own Z- Wave network.
Note : The LED on the MulhSensor Will bhnk 1f it IS currently
not paired 1nlo a Z-Wave network when pressing the
Z-Wave Bullon

roubleshooting : If the MultiSensor was not successfully paired
110 any Z-Wave network , the MultiSensor 's LED Will blink when
ressing th e Z-Wave Button. If the MultiSensor was successfully
aired into a Z-Wave netwO<k, the LED will st ay solid for a few
3:conds when pressing the Z-Wave Button.
Removing /R esett ing the MultiSensor from your
Z-Wave N et work
Remove
Press the button labeled "Remove " on
the Aeotec Minimote to begin the
Z-Wave removal process.
Trouble s hootin g: If the MultiSensor was successfully removed
from the Z-Wave II Biwork, pressing the Z-Wave Button will cause the
LED to blink . If the MulliSensor was not su cce ssfully remo ved from
lhe Z-Wave netw o rk the LED will stay sohd for a few seconds
Monitoring M o tion
The MultiSensor cal send Basic Set Command to assooation group 1,
which
is setup via t he Association Command Class. when the Motion
Sensor detects mo\'ement to control the as soc iated de v1c es to · oPEN '"
state. After 4 minutJ s by default. 1f the Mo t1 on Sen s or 1s not triggered
aga~n , theMultiSens or will send Basic Set Command to these dev1ces to
set them to their "C LOSE " stale. How ever, 1f the Motion SensO< IS
tnggered again 10 4 m1nutes. the MultiSensor will reset the timing and
start liming aga1n
The 4 minutesdela) t1 me can be changed throught he usage of Z- Wave
command built 1nto Z-W ave certified controllers/gateways. (The specific
Z-
Wave command supporting th1s function is Conftguration Command
Class) Please con ·Ju lt the operation manual for these controllers I
gateways for spe ciftc 1n struct1ons on setting the MultiSensor.
Monitoring T~mperature , Humidity and luminance
The MultiSensor Ci;ln re port temperature, humidity , and luminance to
a Z-Wave gatewa y Of controller when requested. If this function IS
supported by th e g .J te way /conlroller, the da ta will be displayed in the
user interface of the gateway /controller. (The specific Z-Wave
comma nd support.ng the monitoring is the Multilevel Sensor
Command Class and Multi Channel Command Class. Automatic
reports are sent til association group 1, which is setup via the
Association
Comm 1nd Class .) Please consult t he operat i on manual
for these gateways controllers for specific instructions on se tti ng the
Multi

Warranty '
Aeon Labs warrants to the original purchaserof Products that f or the
Warranty Penod
(as defined below), the Products will be free from
materialdefects
in materials and workmanship.The foregoi ng warranty
is subject to the proper Installation, operation end maintenance of the
Products
1n accordance with installation instru9 ti ons and the operating
manual supplied to Customer. Warranty
cJatms must be made by
Customer 10 writing with1n th1rty (30) days of the mantfestat10n of a
problem. Aeon Labs' soleobligatK>n under the foregoing warranty is, at
Aeon Labs' opllon, to repair, replace or correct any such defectthat was
present at the
t1me of delivery, or to remove the Products and to refund
thepurchase price to Customer.
