1 INTRODUCTION
Wall-mounting thermostat for controlling either brushless fan coils motors for 2/4 pipe. In 2-pipe systems, the thermostat can control standard fan coils or twin delivery FCZI-D
(Dualjet).
2 POSITIONING AND INSTALLATION
Do not place the TX24 panel on a wall exposed to sunlight or heat from other sources.
The panel must be installed in a closed and dry environment, away from possible water splashes on a at surface.

(A) Speed selector:
— OFF: The fan coil is switched o. It may however start again in Heat mode (anti-freeze function) if the room temperature falls below 44,6 °F and the water temperature is
suitable, in this case the red LED ashes. To start the fan coil, turn the knob towards the operating mode required in the AUTO position or in one of the three ventilation
speeds.
— AUTO: The thermostat maintains the set temperature by changing the fan speed in Automatic Mode in accordance with the room temperature and the set temperature.
V1: In this position, the minimum ventilation speed stays active regardless of thermostat requests.
V2: In this position, the minimum ventilation speed stays active regardless of thermostat requests.
V3: In this position, the minimum ventilation speed stays active regardless of thermostat requests.
— Aux: In this position the minimum ventilation speed V1 remains active.
(B) Temperature selector:
Selection of the desired room temperature.
(C) Operating mode indicator light (RED/BLUE/FUCHSIA):
Displays the HOT/COLD operating mode required by the electronic thermostat and if the heating system is able to satisfy the request.
— Red: heating mode range
— Blue: cooling mode
— Fuchsia: insucient water level
(D) Ventilation request indicator light:
Indicates the ventilation request by the electronic thermostat. Flashing indicates the stand-by status.

8 CONTROL LOGIC
The TX24 thermostat can equip the fan coils with multi-speed asynchronous motors and brushless motors.
8.1 ADJUSTMENT LOGIC
There are follow options for the thermostat operating logic.
8.2 3LEVEL THERMOSTAT
The gure below shows the fan operating in Automatic mode (selector on AUTO) on the basis of the proportional error.
In Manual mode (selector on position V1, V2 or V3), the fan follows On-O cycles at the selected speed, whereas in Auto it follows On-O cycles according to the thresholds
of speed V1.
The dead band shown in the gure may be equal to 35,6 °F or 41 °F, depending on the setting of Dip 7.

8.3 THERMOSTAT CONTROL 0100%
Shows the fan operating in Automatic mode (selector on AUTO) on the basis of the proportional error.
In Manual mode (selector on position V1, V2 or V3), the fan follows On-O cycles at the selected speed, whereas in Auto it follows On-O cycles according to the thresholds
of speed VFAN.

8.4 THERMOSTATCONTROLLED VENTILATION
With adjustment on the basis of thermostat-controlled ventilation (dip 3 OFF), the ventilation function switches o when the set value is reached.

8.5 CONTINUOUS VENTILATION
Continuous ventilation is selected by setting dip 3 ON.
In this mode, ventilation continues at the selected speed even after the set temperature value has been reached. This function is disabled if the machine has no shut-o valve
(dip 1 OFF); in this case, ventilation is always managed via thermostat-control logic.
The following table shows the ventilation speed activated according to the position of the selector:

AUTO When the set value is reached, ventilation continues at the minimum speed (V1).

V2 In this position, the average ventilation speed V2 stays active regardless of thermostat requests
V3 In this position, the maximum ventilation speed V3 stays active regardless of thermostat requests
Aux In this position the minimum ventilation speed V1 remains active.
8.6 GRADUAL VENTILATION STARTUP
The thermostat oers gradual fan start-up control when the fan coil is enabled, to guarantee better environmental and acoustic comfort:

The start-up conditions may be as follows:
— Electrical activation of the fan coil with the operating mode selector in any position other than OFF.
— Activation of the fan coil by rotating the operating mode selector from OFF to AUTO, V1, V2, V3 or AUX
— Closure of the MS contact if used for external enabling (dip 4 OFF), and from the CE input
8.7 VALVE ON/OFF FUNCTION
If a shut-o valve is installed (dip1 ON), the position of the probe can be managed both upstream and downstream of the valve itself (on the standard position available in
the heat exchanger).
The dierence between the two options lies in how ventilation is managed. If the water probe is upstream of the valve (dip2 ON) or isn't installed, there is an exchanger
pre-heating function that enables the fan 2’40’’after the rst opening of the valve.
For this exchanger pre-heating function, the valve in question is Y1 in the case of a 2-pipe system (dip5 O) or Y2 with a 4-pipe system (dip5 On).
The fan inhibition time is then calculated automatically according to how long the valve has remained closed; in this way, it can vary from a minimum of 0’ 00’’to a maximum
of 2’40’’.
The gure below indicates the valve operating logic if the thermostat is used with thermostat-controlled ventilation logic or modulated logic.
As you can see, in HEATING mode the valve is used by exploiting the capacity of the terminal to dispense heat even when ventilation is disabled (stack eect).
On the one hand, this takes advantage of the stack eect, and on the other it avoids the continuous opening and closing of the valve (that takes a few minutes to respond),
which means the water in the terminal is always circulating during normal operation.
In COOLING mode, thermostat control of the valve is not synchronised with that of the fan. This helps take full advantage of the cooling capacity of the machine, and ensures
more precise room temperature control.

8.8 SEASON CHANGEOVER ON THE BASIS OF THE WATER
If the thermostat is congured to be used without a valve (dip 1 OFF) or with a probe upstream from the valve (dip 2 ON), the measured water temperature is the one eectively
available on the terminal so the season is forced to Heating or Cooling according to that temperature.
The season changeover thresholds are shown in the gure below, where you can also see the meanings of dip 4:

In this conguration, the indications of the left-hand LED correspond to the active mode (red for Heating, blue for Cooling, and blue/pink or red/pink in the disabled area).
Ventilation is only enabled if the water temperature is suitable for Heating mode or Cooling mode. This avoids unwanted cold ventilation during the winter, and controls the
activation and deactivation of all the terminals on the basis of the eective state of the water available (centralised control of the On-O and Heating-Cooling commands).
8.9 SEASON CHANGEOVER ON THE BASIS OF THE AIR
There are certain types of system in which the season changeover depends on the air:
— 2-pipe systems with a water probe downstream of the valve.
— all 2-pipe system without a water probe.
— All 4-pipe systems.
The season changeover takes place on the basis of the following criterion:
— Cooling mode: if the room temperature is lower than the set value and the dierence is equal to the dead band (35,6 °F o 41 °F), heating mode is activated.
— Heating mode: if the room temperature is higher than the set value and the dierence is equal to the dead band (35,6 °F o 41 °F), cooling mode is activated.
Attention: The dead band is dened via Dip 7 - i.e. if Dip 7 is OFF the dead band is 41 °F whereas if Dip 7 is ON the dead band is 35,6 °F.
9 ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
9.1 ENABLING VENTILATION
The gure showing season changeover (water side) and ventilation enabling indicates not only the season changeover (water side) thresholds but also the ventilation enabling
thresholds in Heating mode (Minimum value check) and Cooling mode (Maximum value check).
Depending on the setting of Dip 4, Normal band (heating enabling at 102,2 °F, cooling enabling at 62,6 °F) or Reduced band (heating enabling at 95 °F, cooling enabling at
71,6 °F) is selected.
The absence of a water probe for 2-pipe systems prevents not only season operating changeovers but also Minimum water temperature checks in Heating and Maximum water
temperature checks in Cooling, so ventilation is always active.
In the case of a 4-pipe system with just one water probe, the probe is only used to check the Minimum ventilation value in Heating mode.

9.2 ENVIRONMENT PROBE MANAGEMENT
TheTX24 thermostat is tted as standard with a built-in air probe. In order to improve the possible control of the room temperature, it is possible to install an external air probe
to be installed on the fan coil or in the environment.
The control manages the air sensors as follows:

9.3 ANTIFREEZE PROTECTION
The anti-freeze protection function makes sure the ambient temperature never falls to freezing values (even when the selector is OFF).
If the temperature falls below 44,6 °F, the thermostat works in HEATING with a set value of 53,6 °F and AUTO ventilation, as long as the water temperature allows it.
Attention: If there is no water probe, or continuous ventilation is enabled, the fan is always active. If there is a valve and an upstream water probe, or no water probe,
the heat exchanger undergoes a pre-heating cycle in any case.
The thermostat quits anti-freeze mode when the ambient temperature rises above 48,2 °F.
9.4 MICROSWITCH LOGIC
The microswitch can have several separate functions depending on the position of Dip 8 and Dip 9 (SW1):
DIP 8 into OFF (dip 9 into OFF)
The microswitch has the function of completely prohibiting the fan when it is in the open state, which mechanically corresponds to the closed n position.
DIP 8 into ON (dip 9 into OFF)
The microswitch has the function of change of season, this mode of use is necessary for i FCX / FCZ DualJet fan coils or in all the applications where you want to have the change
of season from external contact managed by a centralized system.

9.5 ECONOMY FUNCTION
The Sleep function on the TX24 thermostat is available if the thermostat is interfaced with a presence sensor (with normally open logic) connected to its CE input.
this function varies the fan coil adjustment setting if there is nobody in the room in question lowering the value if heating mode is active, or increasing it if cooling mode is
active. The purpose is to ensure energy savings.
More specically, if the TX/TXI thermostat board is connected to a presence sensor, the SP input logic is as follows:

On the basis of Table 7, the new adjustment setting will be dened by the following calculation:
Setpoint = Set value - ∆ (Equation 1: for stand-alone thermostats)
The input is inhibited if the thermostat is operating in anti-freeze mode or emergency mode due to the ambient probe.
N.B.: The season changeover (air side) is inhibited as long as the SP input is closed, to prevent any incorrect status changes caused by the variation in the setpoint.

10 ADDITIONAL CHECKS
The following fault situations are envisaged:
— No water probe
— No ambient probe (2 pipes)
— No ambient probe (4 pipes)
10.1 NO WATER PROBE
In this case, the thermostat behaves as follows:
— Ventilation is always enabled
— The season changeover is based on the dierence between the set value and the room temperature. If the room temperature is higher than the set heating value, and the
dierence is equal to the dead band, cooling mode is activated; if the room temperature is lower than the set cooling value, and the dierence is equal to the dead band,
heating mode is activated.
— There is a xed correction of the ambient probe, dened on the basis of type of thermostat congured (see the ambient probe corrections table).
10.2 NO AMBIENT PROBE 2 PIPES
In this case, the thermostat behaves as follows:
1. Selector on OFF - Aux:
— The valve is closed
— The fan is switched o
2. Selector on AUTO, V1, V2, V3:
— The valve is always open.
— Heating mode is always enabled.
— Ventilation follows On-O cycles. The length of the ON cycle is proportional to the position of the temperature selector (manual control of the power supplied by the

2 POSITIONNEMENT ET INSTALLATION
Ne placez pas le panneau TX sur un mur exposé à la lumière du soleil ou à la chaleur d'autres sources.
Le panneau doit être installé dans un environnement fermé et sec, à l’abri de possibles éclaboussures d’eau sur une surface plane.

(A) Sélecteur de vitesse:
— OFF: Le ventilo-convecteur est éteint. Il peut redémarrer en mode Chaud (fonction Antigel) si la température ambiante devient inférieure à 44,6 °F et la température d'eau est appropriée ;
dans ce cas, le voyant rouge clignote. Pour démarrer le ventilo-convecteur, tourner la molette vers le mode de fonctionnement souhaité en position AUTO ou dans l'une des trois vitesses de
ventilation.
— AUTO: Le thermostat maintient la température programmée en changeant la vitesse du ventilateur en mode automatique, en fonction de la température ambiante et de la température
programmée.
V1: Dans cette position la vitesse minimale de ventilation reste toujours active indépendamment des demandes du thermostat.
V2: Dans cette position la vitesse moyenne de ventilation reste toujours active indépendamment des demandes du thermostat.
V3: Dans cette position la vitesse maximale de ventilation reste toujours active indépendamment des demandes du thermostat.
— Aux: Dans cette position, la vitesse de ventilation minimale V1 reste active.

8 LOGIQUES DE CONTRÔLE
Le thermostatTX24 pourra équiper les ventilo-convecteurs avec des moteurs asynchrones à plusieurs vitesses et des moteurs brushless.
8.1 LOGIQUES DE CONTRÔLE
La logique de fonctionnement du thermostat peut être choisie entre les modes énumérés ci-dessous.
8.2 THERMOSTAT À TROIS NIVEAUX
La gure indique le fonctionnement du ventilateur en mode automatique (sélecteur sur AUTO) en fonction de l’erreur proportionnelle.
En mode manuel (sélecteur sur V1, V2, V3) le ventilateur utilise des cycles de marche/arrêt sur la vitesse sélectionnée, tandis qu'en mode Auto il eectue des cycles marche/arrêt au niveau des
seuils de la vitesseV1.
