2 REMOTE CONTROL
Attention:
— Some of the buttons of the remote control are not used for the required air conditioner and are therefore not described in these instructions. Pressing of these keys will
not aect the operation of the air conditioner.
— Check there are no obstructions between the receiver and the remote control.
— The maximum distance between the IR receiver and the remote control is 8 metres, to ensure the signal is correctly received.
— Position the remote control at least 1 metre away from TVs, radios, stereos, etc. There may be some audio and video interference.
— Do not drop or throw the remote control.
— Do not let liquids enter the remote control, and do not leave it in direct sunlight or in hot places.
— When the remote control sends a signal the symbol appears on the display, the receiver of the indoor unit emits a sound to conrm reception of the signal.

3 FUNCTIONS AVAILABLE THROUGH THE REMOTE CONTROL
3.1 SWITCHING THE INDOOR UNIT ON AND OFF
By pressing the
ON/OFF
button it is possible to switch the unit on or o. When
o some information is still displayed on the remote control: the operating setpoint
of the last operating mode used, and switch on timers programmed (ON) and any
icons tied to the function active during the last switch on of the unit (X-FAN func-
tion, enabling the display of the indoor unit, etc.) Once switched on the unit uses
the settings selected during the last operating session.

3.2 SETTING A SYSTEM TIME
These units are equipped with an internal clock which can display the current time;
by pressing on the
CLOCK
key the clock icon will start to ash; while the clock icon
is ashing it is possible to change the system time using the keys and
to increase or decrease the displayed time; once the desired value is set
you need to press the
CLOCK
key again to conrm the value (once conrmed the
clock icon will stop ashing).

3.3 SELECTING AN OPERATING MODE

If the unit is on, pressing the
MODE
button allows passing from one operating mode
to the next, in this sequence:
AUTO HEAT
COOL FAN
DRY
The various operating modes have dierent features and ranges:
— AUTOMATIC mode (AUTO): in this mode, the remote control does not display
any set-point value and the fans speed is set to AUTO;
— COOLING mode (COOL): in this mode the user must set the operating set-point
and a fan speed; if the room temperature is higher than the set value, which can
be seen on the display, the air conditioner will continue to cool the air until the
room temperature will reach the setpoint value;
— DEHUMIDIFICATION mode (DRY): in this mode the user must set the oper-
ating set-point but not the fan speed (which remains xed at minimum); if
the room temperature is higher than the set value, which can be seen on the
display, the air conditioner will continue to dehumidify the air until the room
temperature will reach the setpoint value;
— VENTILATION mode (FAN): in this mode the user must set only the fan speed.
This mode provides no heating or cooling but only uses the internal fan to ven-
tilate the space;
— HEATING mode (HEAT): in this mode the user must set the operating set-point
and a fan speed; if the room temperature is lower than the set value, which can
be seen on the display, the air conditioner will continue to heat the air until the
room temperature will reach the setpoint value.
3.4 SETTING THE OPERATING SETPOINT
All the operating modes (except the automatic one) require an room air tempera-
ture value to control to: this is called the operating setpoint.
If the unit is on (and the automatic mode is not selected), pressing the
and buttons allows decreasing or increasing the operating setpoint. The
setpoint value is displayed in the central part of the remote control’s display.
The range of temperature is 16°C - 30°C (61°F - 86°F).

Pressing the

button, If the unit is on (and the automatic or dehumidication
modes are not selected), allows the selection of the fan speed. Pressing the but-
ton allows changing the fan speeds as shown in the icons below, in the following
sequence:

Note:
1. When operation mode changes, fan speed is memorized.
2. Under dry mode, fan speed is low and cannot be adjusted.

If the unit is on, pressing the button allows the activation of the swing func-
tion of the motorised discharge n.This n varies the direction of the ow of air into
the ambient, on the basis of the selected position; With the unit on, pressing the
button allows the setting of the following sequenced steps, one by one:

Note: operate continuously up & down swing in 2 seconds, swing states will change
according to above-mentioned order, or switch closed state and " " state.
3.7 SETTING THE MOTORISED HORIZONTAL DISCHARGE

If the unit is on, while pressing the button it activates the swing of the mo-
torized supply air n. The n allows to change the air ow in the room depending
on the set position; When the unit is on, while pressing the button it’s possible to
set one by one the following steps:

according to above-mentioned order, or switch closed state and " " state.

3.8 ACTIVATING / DEACTIVATING THE TURBO FUNCTION
The unit allows the setting of the fan speeds during the various operating modes
(except the automatic mode and the dehumidication mode). There is an addition-
al speed called turbo.

When turbo function is on, the unit operates in super high speed to achieve quick
cooling or heating.

3.9 ACTIVATING / DEACTIVATING THE INDOOR UNIT’S
DISPLAY
The display on the indoor unit must be activated using the remote control; To acti-
vate the display on the front panel of the indoor unit press the
LIGHT
button on
the remote control.

3.10 DISPLAYING THE ROOM TEMPERATURE OR THE
OPERATING SETPOINT ON THE INDOOR UNIT

Through the use of the remote control it is possible to display the room tempera-
ture value read by the indoor unit, or display the current operating setpoint used by
the unit. This information is displayed on board the indoor unit’s display.
Under on status, receiver light board or wired controller is defaulted to display set-
ting temperature. Press "
TEMP
" button to view indoor ambient temperature.
When " " is not displayed, it means the displayed temperature is setting tem-
perature.
When " " is displayed, it means the displayed temperature is indoor ambient
temperature.
NOTE: setting temperature is always displayed in remote controller.
3.11 ACTIVATING / DEACTIVATING THE EXTENDED
VENTILATION XFAN
During the operation in cooling or dehumidication mode the condensate caused
by the humidity in the air is formed on the heat exchanger within the unit. This
function allows the ventilation to be extended after the unit is switched o, thereby
drying the heat exchanger.
If the unit is on (and the cooling or dehumidication mode is selected), pressing the

button for two seconds allows activating or deactivating of this function. On
the remote control the display the icon will appear or disappear to indicate if
the function is activated or deactivated.

3.12 ACTIVATING / DEACTIVATING THE NIGHTTIME
COMFORT FUNCTION
The night-time comfort function controls the air conditioner in an optimal way dur-
ing the night. The following logic is applied:
— In cooling: the temperature setpoint is gradually increased to guarantee maxi-
mum comfort combined with energy saving;
— In heating: the temperature setpoint is gradually decreased to guarantee max-
imum comfort combined with energy saving;
If the unit is on (except in automatic, dehumidication or ventilation mode), press-
ing the
SLEEP
button activates or deactivates the night time health function.
If the function is active the icon is displayed on the remote control.

NOTE: the night time health function is deactivated by switching o the unit, and
on restarting will not be active; this function can be activated at any time.
3.13 SET THE FUNCTION IFEEL
The user holding the remote close can precisely control the climate around him.
Press the button
I FEEL
to activate the IFEEL. The symbol on the display in-
dicates that the function is active IFEEL. The remote control by means of a probe
inside it detects the ambient temperature and sends it to the indoor unit. The re-
mote control must be within range of transmission, facing the indoor unit of the air
conditioner, do not store in drawers or cover. The remote update reading and send
it to the air conditioner every 10 minutes and after each keystroke to any change
in settings.

3.14 SETTING OR CANCELLING A PROGRAMMED SWITCH
ON TIMER ON
Attention: This button has two dierent functions that are activated by
pressing on the left and on the right side.
he units possess a timer used to program switching on by specifying the time that
you want the unit to start. By pressing the
T-ON/T-OFF
, on the left side, key you enter the
time programming mode (in this mode the ”ON”icon to the right of the time ash-
es) and by pressing the keys and it is possible to set the switch
on time; Pressing the

button, on the left side, again conrms the time and
activates the timer programme.
If you want to cancel a programmed switch on, just press the

3.16 SETTING OR REMOVING THE BUTTON LOCK
To lock or remove the lock of the buttons on the remote control, press the
and buttons simultaneously. The icon on the remote control’s display
shows that the keypad of the remote control is locked.
If the buttons are locked, the icon blinks 3 times when pressing the button and
any operation on the button is invalid.

3.17 SETTING THE UNIT OF MEASUREMENT

3.18 ACTIVATE / DEACTIVATE THE ENERGY SAVING
The power saving function is activated only during the cooling mode; This function
allows you to reach the set temperature with less energy consumption.
If the power is on and the cooling mode is selected, simultaneously pressing the
keys

NOTE: The energy saving and night-time functions can not be activated at the same
time; if the night-time wellness function is active and you want to activate the en-
ergy-saving function, the night-time wellness function will be disabled automati-
cally. Under energy-saving function, fan speed is defaulted at auto speed and set
temperature and speed can’t be adjusted. Press “TURBO” button and the remote
controller won’t send signal.

3.19 ACTIVATE / DEACTIVATE THE ABSENT FUNCTION
The Absence function can only be activated during the heating mode; this function
allows to maintain the work set to 8°C, to ensure that the ambient temperature
does not fall below this threshold.
If the unit is ON and the heat mode is active, press ”
TEMP
” and “

neously to active or deactivate the Absence function.

NOTE: The Absence and night-time functions can not be activated at the same time;
if the night-time wellness function is active and you want to activate the Absence
function, the night-time wellness function will be disabled automatically. Under
Absence function, fan speed is defaulted at auto speed and set temperature and
speed can’t be adjusted. Press “TURBO” button and the remote controller won’t
send signal. Under °F temperature display, the remote controller will display 46°F
heating.
3.20 REPLACING THE REMOTE CONTROL’S BATTERIES
To replace the batteries of the infra red remote control proceed as follows:
1. Open the battery cover by pressing the latch at the bottom of the cover;
2. Remove the old batteries;
3. Insert two new 1.5V alkaline high performance batteries, type LR03 (AAA), tak-
ing care that their polarity is correct;
4. Close the battery cover.
NOTE:
— When batteries are replaced use new batteries of the recommended type.
— Remove the batteries if the remote control is not used for extended periods.
— The remote control can emit a signal up to a maximum distance of 8 metres.
— The unit can be aected by signals transmitted by remote controls for televi-
sions, video recorders, or other devices used in the same room.
— If the remote controller does not operate normally, please take the batteries
out and reinsert them after 30 seconds. If it still can’t operate properly, replace
the batteries.
