PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Centra Lux, our complete central vacuum system, is a convenient solution to household pollution. Installed in either a basement or garage,
the main power unit can be linked to inlets in any room or hallway. Dirt and debris are carried out of the home to the main unit, unable to
reenter your home’s air. The canister contains a lter that captures 99.97% of pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, operating at HEPA standards.
Cyclonic suction prevents clogs and ensures consistent, powerful airow for better suction. Plus, installing a Centra Lux is considered a
permanent improvement that actually adds to the value of your home.

Read all instructions before using this product.
• Do not allow appliance to operate while unattended. Unplug from outlet before servicing
• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces
• Do not allow to be used as a toy; close attention is necessary when used by or near children
• Use only as described in this manual; use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug; if appliance is not working as it should, return it to a service center
• Keep cord away from heated surfaces
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord; to unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord
• Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands
• Do not put any object into openings; do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may
reduce airflow
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes
• Do not use without filters in place
• Turn off all controls before unplugging
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs
• Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in areas where they may be present
• Always turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting motorized nozzle
• The power unit is a grounded appliance; connect to properly grounded outlet only
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to
reduce the risk of shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. This plug
must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of re, electrical shock, or
injury, including the following:
WARNING:
Improper connection of the equipment-grounded conductor can
result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualied electrician or
service person if you are unsure as to whether the outlet is properly
grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance — if
it will not t the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualied
electrician.
This appliance is for use on a normal 120 volt circuit and has a
grounding plug that looks like the plug illustrated*. Make sure that
the appliance is connected to an outlet having the same conguration
as the plug. No adapter should be used with this appliance.

PRODUCT FEATURES
It is important to be familiar with the parts of the Centra Lux. If any parts are missing, call your local Aerus location for replacement.
Do not use glue to attach intake and exhaust pipe or ttings.

POWER UNIT ASSEMBLY
Install mounting brackets (attach to wall stud) and hang unit.
NOTE: Install filter before use. Place filter in position and rotate ¼ turn to seat. Firmly
push filter retainer upward into center of filter. Rotate retainer ¼ turn to lock
filter in place.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The power unit requires a separate 120-volt, 20 amp, grounded circuit. Once the
cord is plugged into a 120-volt circuit, the power is connected.
Attach 24 volt connectors.
Turn the unit OFF before assembling the unit.

OPERATION
The Centra Lux is equipped with electronics to help monitor the performance.
FILTER CHANGE 1
• The Filter Change LED is a yellow light and will come on to alert the user to empty the
bucket and clean or replace the foam filter
• Once the bucket has been emptied and the filter replaced, the Filter Change light can be
turned off by the New Filter Reset Button
NEW FILTER RESET BUTTON 2
The reset button must be depressed and held for approximately 3 seconds to turn o the Filter
Change LED.
FUNCTION SWITCH 3
The function switch is normally set to “o” when using a hose and accessories throughout the
house. The function switch is set to “on” when a hose is connected directly to the Centra Lux
(and the low voltage circuits not connected — see Installation Guide.
TO USE REMOTELY:
• Insert hose end into wall inlet
• Insert power cord into nearest electrical wall outlet
Refer to next section for operation.
Power switch is located on top of hose hand grip; see Accessory Manual for complete
instructions.
TO USE LOCALLY:
• Plug hose circuits into canister
• Flip Function Switch to "on" position

Always switch power to the OFF position before replacing the lter or disconnecting power cord.
CAUTION:
REPLACING THE FILTER
1. Unsnap latches.
2. Rotate lter retainer ¼ turn counterclockwise to remove lter.
3. Remove dirty filter and wash thoroughly in warm soapy water. Allow filter to completely
dry before reinserting into unit. DO NOT DRY IN SUNLIGHT. Allow up to 48 hours to dry
completely. Purchase new filter after 5 washings.
NOTE: Filter should be cleaned a minimum of every six months

To Empty Canister:
1. Remove motor unit housing and cloth filter. If paper filter is over rubber flange move to outside of
canister before removing cloth filter.
2. Grasp paper filter at the bottom and pull outside of cleaner.
3. Grasp canister on bottom of bumper guard and at top; lift, tilt, remove paper filter and empty. Pour
from side opposite hose connection.
4. For clean safe efficient operation of vacuum cleaner, always use a fresh disposable paper filter for
each cleaning job. This maintains maximum suction.
To reorder disposable paper filters, please contact Customer Service at [phone].
4. Empty dirt canister and reassemble.
• Clean canister twice per year
• Be sure to clean filter each time you empty the dirt canister
Unit will not operate without lter in place. To reduce motor wear, the Centra Lux Central Vacuum System is equipped with a“No
Filter Lock-Out Feature” that prevents the motor from operating without a lter installed.

CHANGING FROM STANDARD TO SUPERVALVE PLUG:
SUPERVALVE
Remove Plug Wire. Rotate Turret to Supervalve Position. Insert into wall inlet.
UNIT WON’T RUN
• Is the filter installed?
• Is the hose handle switch in either “I” or “II” position?
• Is unit plugged in?
• Press unit reset button
• Is 24 volt connection plugged in?
• Check home circuit breaker
• If all the above does not solve the problem, call your nearest Aerus location for service
NO SUCTION
• Check for clogged power nozzle
• Check for clogged hose
• Check for dirty filter
• Check for full canister
• Check wall plumbing for clogs
• If all the above does not solve the problem, call your nearest Aerus location for service
POWER NOZZLE WON’T RUN
• Is the hose handle switch set in “II” position?
• Press nozzle reset button
• Is hose fully engaged in the wall and/or is the cord plugged in?
• Are all hose handle and wand connections fully connected?

All power units of the Aerus Centra Lux are certified by the Canadian Standards Association.
Every effort is made to ensure that customers receive an up-to-date instruction manual on the use of Aerus products; however
from time to time, modifications to our products may be made without notice and make the information contained herein subject
to alteration.

LIMITED 5 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
WHAT IS COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY
Aerus warrants the Centra Lux (including any accessories purchased with
the Centra Lux) to the consumer, subject to the conditions below, against
defects in workmanship or material, provided that the products are
returned to an Aerus location within 5 years of date of purchase.
HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE
Upon contacting and returning, at consumer’s sole cost and expense,
the products with proof of purchase (including purchase date) to an
Aerus location within the above time periods, Aerus will repair the
product without charge within a reasonable period of time, subject to the
conditions in the above paragraph, if its examination shall disclose any
part to be defective in workmanship or material. If Aerus, in its discretion, is
unable to repair the product after a reasonable number of attempts, Aerus
will provide either a refund of the purchase price or a replacement unit, at
Aerus' option.
MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
Failure to use and maintain your Centra Lux in accordance with your
Owner's Manual will void this warranty, including but not limited to:
• Maintaining your unit in accordance with Aerus' Preventative
Maintenance Program.
Servicing your Centra Lux by parties other than an authorized Aerus
location and/or using parts other than genuine Aerus parts will also void
this warranty.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY
This product is intended for household use only. Ordinary wear and
tear shall not be considered a defect in workmanship or material. These
warranties do not apply for loss or damage caused by accident, re, abuse,
misuse, modication, misapplication, commercial use, or by any repairs
other than those provided by an authorized Aerus location. This warranty
is null and void if it is damaged as a result of vacuuming damp or wet
surfaces, or dirt leakage through a lter bag other than an Aerus lter bag.
MISSING SERIAL NUMBERS AND UNAUTHORIZED
CHANNELS
If a valid serial number is missing from the product, the warranty will be
voided. Aerus products are authorized for sale through Aerus Independent
Franchises only. Warranties are voided if a product is purchased through
unauthorized channels. This includes websites that are not authorized
to use Aerus' trademarked names, images and logos as well as Internet
auction sites (e.g. ebay and Craigslist). The only approved Internet presence
for Aerus products is www.aerushome.com. To conrm warranty coverage
prior to purchasing a product, contact Aerus at 800.243.9078 and Canada:
800.668.0763 with the serial number located on the back of the unit.
EXCLUSION OF OTHER WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS
EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN, AERUS MAKES NO REPRESENTATION OR
WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS
OR IMPLIED, ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
AERUS SHALL NOT IN ANY CASE BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL
OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM BREACH OF
EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS, GUARANTEES OR
REPRESENTATIONS, BREACH OF CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE OR ANY OTHER
LEGAL THEORY. Such excluded damages include, but are not limited to,
loss of prots or revenue and loss of the use of the products.

This warranty gives you specic legal rights, and you may also have
other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow
limitations on warranties, or on remedies for breach. In such states, the

applicable legislation, this warranty is not transferable. This warranty
gives you specic legal rights and you may also have other rights which

allow limitations on warranties, or on remedies for breach. In such
provinces or territories, the above limitations may not apply to you.
If any provision of this warranty or part thereof is held by a court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the
validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions or parts
thereof will not in any way be aected or impaired within the jurisdiction
of that court. This entire warranty shall continue to be valid, legal and
enforceable in any jurisdiction where a similar determination has not
been made.

INSTRUCTIONS DE MISE À LA TERRE
Cet appareil doit être mis à la terre. En cas de panne ou de dysfonctionnement, la mise à la terre permet au courant électrique d’emprunter
un chemin de résistance minimale pour réduire le risque de choc électrique. Le cordon d’alimentation de l’appareil comporte un conducteur
de terre et une che avec patte de mise à la terre. Cette che doit être insérée dans une prise de courant mise à la terre qui a été installée
conformément aux codes et aux règlements locaux.

L’utilisation d’appareils électriques nécessite des précautions de base qu’il faut toujours prendre pour réduire les risques

• Ne pas utiliser l’appareil sans filtre
• Arrêter complètement l’aspirateur avant de le débrancher
• Redoubler de prudence en nettoyant des escaliers
• Ne pas utiliser l’appareil pour aspirer des liquides inflammables ou combustibles, de l’essence, par exemple; ne pas utiliser
l’appareil dans des endroits où ces liquides pourraient être présents
• Toujours arrêter l’appareil avant d'installer ou de retirer un accessoire motorisé

ATTENTION :

INSTALLATION DE L’ASPIRATEUR
Mettre en place les supports de xation (les xer à un montant) et y suspendre
l’aspirateur.
REMARQUE : Installer le filtre dans l’aspirateur avant de l'utiliser. Mettre le filtre
en place et le tourner d’un quart (¼) de tour. Enfoncer fermement le
dispositif de retenue dans le trou central du filtre, puis le tourner d’un
quart (¼) de tour pour qu’il retienne bien le filtre.
EXIGENCES ÉLECTRIQUES :
L'unité d'alimentation nécessite un circuit mis à la terre de 120 V, 20 A. Une fois le
cordon branché dans le circuit de 120 V, l'appareil est sous tension.
Raccorder les connecteurs 24 V.
Mettre le commutateur de l'appareil en position « O » (Arrêt) avant de l'installer.

Le Centra Lux est équipé de circuits électroniques dédiés à la surveillance des performances.
REMPLACEMENT DU FILTRE 1
• La DEL de changement de filtre est un voyant (témoin lumineux) jaune qui avertit l’utilisateur
qu'il est temps de vider la cuve à poussière et nettoyer ou remplacer le filtre mousse
• Une fois que la cuve à poussière a été vidée et que le filtre a été remplacé, le voyant de
remplacement du filtre peut être éteint en appuyant sur le bouton de réarmement du filtre
BOUTON DE RÉARMEMENT DU FILTRE 2
Le bouton de réarmement doit être maintenu enfoncé pendant environ 3
secondes pour permettre l'extinction du voyant de remplacement du ltre.
BOUTON DE FONCTION 3
Le bouton de fonction est normalement en position « O » (Arrêt) lorsque le boyau et les
accessoires sont utilisés à travers la maison. L’interrupteur de fonction est en position « On »
(Marche) lorsque le boyau est branché directement au Centra Lux (et que les circuits basse
tension ne sont pas branchés - voir le guide d’installation).
UTILISATION DISTANTE :
• Insérer l’embout du boyau dans l’orifice de la prise murale
• Brancher le cordon électrique à la prise de courant la plus proche
L'utilisation de l’aspirateur est décrite à la section suivante.
L'interrupteur marche/arrêt se situe au-dessus de la poignée du boyau : se référer au manuel
des accessoires pour de plus amples renseignements.
UTILISATION LOCALE :
• Connecter les boyaux au réservoir
• Mettre le bouton de fonction en position « On » (Marche)

Toujours mettre le commutateur de l'appareil en position « O » (Arrêt) avant de remplacer le ltre ou de
débrancher le cordon d'alimentation.
ATTENTION :
REMPLACEMENT DU FILTRE
L’appareil ne fonctionne pas si le ltre n’est pas installé. An de réduire l’usure du moteur, l’aspirateur central Centra Lux est doté
d'une fonction de“désactivation en cas d’absence du ltre”qui empêche le moteur de fonctionner si le ltre n’est pas installé.
AVERTISSEMENT :

1. Détacher les loquets.
2. Tourner le dispositif de retenue d'un quart (¼) de tour dans le sens anti-horaire pour retirer
le ltre.
3. Retirer le filtre sale et le laver à l’eau tiède savonneuse. Le laisser sécher complètement
avant de l’introduire de nouveau dans l’appareil. NE PAS SÉCHER LE FILTRE AU SOLEIL. Le
filtre mousse peut nécessiter jusqu’à 48 heures pour sécher complètement. Remplacer le
filtre au bout de cinq lavages.
REMARQUE : Le filtre doit être nettoyé au moins tous les six mois.

• Comprend 7 filtres en papier
• Une toile filtrante double et un filtre en papier
• La toile filtrante se salit moins rapidement
• Maintient une puissance d’aspiration élevée
• Allonge l’intervalle entre chaque vidage du réservoir
Pour vider la cuve à poussière :
1. Retirer le réceptacle du moteur ainsi que la toile filtrante. Si le filtre en papier se trouve sur la collerette de
caoutchouc, la retirer du réservoir avant de retirer la toile filtrante.
2. Saisir le bas du filtre en papier et le retirer de l’aspirateur.
3. Saisir la cuve par le bas du rebord butoir et par le dessus; soulever, incliner, retirer le filtre en papier et
vider. Vider du côté opposé au raccord de boyau.
4. Pour un fonctionnement efficace, propre et sécuritaire de l’aspirateur, toujours utiliser un filtre en papier
jetable neuf pour chaque nettoyage. Cela permet de maintenir une puissance d’aspiration optimale.

4. Vider la cuve de son contenu et la remettre en place.
• Nettoyer la cuve à poussière deux fois par an
• S’assurer de nettoyer le filtre chaque fois que l’on vide la cuve à poussière
