RELEASE HIGHLIGHTS
FlowScout PON Optical Power Meter
AFL’s FlowScout PON Power Meter identies, measures, and qualies both
downstream and upstream signal levels in FTTx PON networks. It is perfect
for technicians responsible for activating and maintaining networks carrying
a mix of GPON/EPON, video, and next gen PON (XG/XGS-PON, 10GEPON)
wavelengths.
Unlike competing through-mode PON Power Meters, AFL’s FlowScout requires
no setup. Technicians simply plug in the ber under test to see results displayed
in seconds on the large color touchscreen. Storage and reporting options are
included to verify and document results from the eld.
FlowScout's rugged design makes it perfect for outside plant environments
where it can be dropped, get dirty or even wet. And because it is so easy to
use, FlowScout requires little, if any, training.

VFI4 Visual Fault Identier
AFL’s compact VFI4 injects high-powered red-laser light to provide exceptional
brightness and range for locating defects in single-mode and multimode bers.
During installation and activation, the VFI4 is used for quick continuity checks,
ber tracing, splice verication, and Pass/Fail validation for mechanical
connectors.
The VFI4 is also an essential troubleshooting tool to nd sharp bends, breaks,
faulty connectors, and other defects that “leak” light - enabling technicians to
quickly spot them.

The FlexScan FS300 OTDR enables both expert and
novice technicians to quickly and accurately locate,
identify and measure components and faults on either
single-mode or multimode optical networks.
The pocket-sized FlexScan FS300 includes an integrated
optical light source, power meter and visual fault
locater (VFL). It can be easily coupled with AFL’s
award-winning FOCIS inspection probes or optical ber
identiers (OFI) to give technicians everything they need
to locate and resolve any optical network issues.
FlexScan SmartAuto tests utilize multi-pulse acquisition
to obtain high-resolution without sacricing
measurement range. Test results are clearly displayed
on the large 5-inch touchscreen with color-coded
LinkMap®icons providing network conguration and
pass/fail status at a glance.
Professional reports can be generated using either
integrated Print-to-PDF or the included Windows-
compatible TRM®3.0 Test Results Manager software.
Results can be transferred from FlexScan by USB cable
or wirelessly using the free FlexScan App.

The FlexScan FS200 is a family of performance-packed
singlemode OTDRs which provide fast, accurate ber
characterization and fault location for point-to-point
and FTTH PON networks.
FlexScan FS200 OTDRs automate test setup, simplify
results interpretation, and shorten test time, all at
an affordable price point. AFL’s SmartAuto®mode
requires just the push of a button to test the network.
Results are clearly displayed on the large touchscreen
using color-coded LinkMap®icons that show network
conguration and pass/fail status at a glance. Our new
FleXpress®mode completes dual-wavelength tests in
under 5 seconds – 10 x faster than other OTDRs!
The integrated light source, power meter and VFL, along
with an optional connector inspection scope, provide
both expert and novice technicians everything they need
to locate and resolve optical network issues. Results
may be stored internally or externally and easily shared
via USB or Bluetooth. Included Windows-compatible
TRM®3.0 Test Results Manager software quickly
generates easy-to-understand reports. The results used
for TRM reports can be transferred from FlexScan by
USB cable or wirelessly via the FlexScan App.

AFL's FlexScan TS100 is a family of pocket-sized optical
troubleshooters for frontline service technicians to
enable them to quickly verify or diagnose GPON, video
and XG/XGS-PON or 10GEPON networks.
It features automated setup, ultra-fast fault location, and
color-coded icons that enable even novices to diagnose
and repair single-mode networks like experts.
TS100 measures downstream PON power, link length,
loss, and ORL in under three seconds with the push
of a button. Technicians then simply touch any failed

FlexScan®TS100 FTTH PON Troubleshooter
AFL’s FlexScan TS100 Optical Troubleshooter is an easy-to-use, all-in-one tool for detecting, identifying, locating, and resolving single-mode optical network
issues. The TS100 provides auto-congured settings to quickly measure received power, link length, loss, ORL and detect events with the push of a button.
Results are displayed within seconds using color-coded LinkMap®icons for easy analysis. The FlexScan TS100 automates testing, shortens test time, interprets
results, and recommends corrective actions, improving efciency of frontline technicians and reducing costs.
Higher performance TS100-70 FlexScans can test through splitters up to 1:64, measure splitter loss and compare it to user-settable min/max loss limits,
enabling technicians to detect dirty or damaged connections or macro-bends at the splitter.
The lower cost FlexScan TS100-60 will test to the splitter but not through the splitter. Consequently, it will not detect and report macro-bends or poor
connections at the splitter which cause excess loss through the splitter.
TS100s are available with a eld-replaceable connector, which accepts tool-free, interchangeable connector adapters. Users are able to replace the connector
in the eld if damaged when mating dirty or damaged connectors to the TS100. The eld-replaceable connector also allows users to convert the Troubleshooter
port from APC to UPC or vice versa.
All TS100s include an integrated Light Source, user-selected Broadband or optional Dual-wavelength Power Meter, Visual Fault Locator (VFL), USB and optional
Bluetooth interfaces. The Light Source generates CW, Wave ID and ber-identifying tones, while the Power Meter automatically detects Wave ID and tones.

AFL network simulators are custom-designed bench-top or rack mountable boxes intended to duplicate installed ber optic networks. Network simulators may
be ordered with customer-specied lengths of multimode or single-mode ber. Events such as connections, fusion splices, and mechanical splices can be added
at various points within the ber to duplicate installed networks. A variety of changeable panel mounted connector types are available.The bench top models

OTDR Launch and Receive/Tail Cords - Fiber Rings
To measure the insertion loss of the near-end and/or far-end connection of a ber optic link, an OTDR requires a launch and/or receive/tail test cord, which
essentially are test jumpers that can range from about 150 m to 1 km in length. AFL offers coiled lengths of 50 m and 62.5 m multimode, standard
single-mode ber (G.652) and bend-insensitive ber (G.657), packaged in compact rings for use as OTDR test cords. Fiber Rings of 150 m of ber are ideal
for premises ber network test applications. Fiber Rings of 500 m and 1 km of single-mode ber are designed for broadband, long-haul ber network test
applications and FTTH applications when testing through a splitter.
