Description of Parts
How to Change the Power Supply Fuse and the Power Supply Voltage
The power supply fuse for the N2775A unit, and the power supply voltage
selector, are housed in the power input socket on the rear panel.
•In order to prevent electric shock, always disconnect the power cord from
the receptacle before replacing the fuse.
• Always replace the fuse with a new fuse of the specified rating. Never use a
fuse of other than the specified rating, and never short circuit the fuse holder
to prevent an accident resulting in injury or death.
• 100 V, 120 V: F1.0 AL/250 V20 mm x 5 mm dia.
• 220 V, 240 V: F0.5 AL/250 V20 mm x 5 mm dia.
To change the fuse, or to alter the power supply voltage setting, use the following
procedure with reference to the figures.
1Turn the power switch off, and then remove the power cord.
2Using a slot head screwdriver or the like, bias sideways the catch which
holds the fuse box into the power input socket as shown in the figure,
and then remove the fuse box. When changing the power supply fuse:
3Change the power supply fuse for a new one of the same rating and
specification. When altering the power supply voltage setting:
1Remove the voltage selector from the fuse box, and reinsert it after having
rotated it so that the desired new power supply voltage setting appears
in the display window as shown in the figure. Be sure to recheck the
setting value shown in the window. (The voltage display is upside down
and backwards.).
2Change the power supply fuse for a new one whose rating and
specification are appropriate for the new power supply setting.
4Replace the fuse box by reinserting it into the power input socket.

Preparations
Before turning on the power, make sure that the voltage of the power supply
being used matches the supply voltage indicated on the rear panel of the unit.
1Turn the power switch off and connect the power cord.
2Connect the power plug of the sensor to be used to the power receptacle
of the N2775A.
3Turn the N2775A power switch on, and check that the front panel power
indicator lights.

Safety Considerations
Safety Considerations
Trained service personnel who are aware of the hazards involved (for example,
fire and electric shock) should perform maintenance on the instrument. When
maintenance can be performed without power applied, the power cord must be
removed from the instrument.
Preparations
To ensure safe operation and to obtain maximum performance from the unit,
observe the cautions listed below.
This unit is designed to be grounded through the three-wire power cord
provided. In order to prevent electric shock, etc., connect this power cord to a
grounded three-prong power receptacle.
• Do not subject the unit to vibration or shocks during transport or handling.
Be especially careful to avoid dropping the unit.
• Do not store the unit where it will be exposed to direct sunlight, high
temperature, high humidity, or condensation. If exposed to such conditions,
the unit may be damaged, the insulation may deteriorate, and the unit may
no longer satisfy its specifications.
• Before using the unit, inspect it and check the operation to make sure that
the unit was not damaged due to poor storage or transport conditions. If
damage is found, contact your dealer or Agilent representative.
• When unplugging the power cord from the power receptacle or from the unit,
grasp the plug, not the cord, in order to avoid damaging the cable.
• This unit is not constructed to be waterproof or dustproof, so do not use it in
a very dusty environment or in one where it will get wet.
• Gently wipe dirt from the surface of the unit with a soft cloth moistened with
a small amount of water or mild detergent. Do not try to clean the unit using
cleaners containing organic solvents such as benzine, alcohol, acetone, ether,
ketones, thinners, or gasoline. They may cause discoloration or damage.

Service Strategy
Service Strategy
To return the N2775A Power Supply to optimum performance requires factory
repair. All power supplies must be returned to the service group for service and
calibration. If the power supply is under warranty, normal warranty services
apply. If the power supply is not under warranty, you may exchange a failed power
supply for a reconditioned one at a nominal cost.
To return the Power supply to Agilent Technologies for Service
Call [phone] for further details and the location of your nearest Agilent
Technologies Service Office.
1Write the following information on a tag and attach it to the power
supply.
• Name and address of the owner
• Power supply model number
• Description of service required or failure indications
2Retain all accessories.
3Return the power supply in its case or pack the power supply in
foam or other shock-absorbing material and place it in a strong
shipping container. You can use the original shipping materials or
order materials from an Agilent Technologies Sales Office. If neither are
available, place 3 to 4 inches of shock-absorbing material around the
instrument and place it in a box that does not allow movement during
shipping.
4Seal the shipping container securely.
5Mark the shipping container as FRAGILE. In all correspondence, refer
to the instrument by model number and full serial number.

Performance Verification
This procedure verifies the electrical characteristics of the N2775A Power
Supply. The recommended calibration performance calibration interval for the
N2775A is one year.
Perform the complete performance verification procedure as the first step of
annual certification. The performance verification is to be done without removing
the supply covers.

Preliminary Procedure
Avoid short circuits and accidents that could result in injury to the user or damage
to the equipment.
Shielded test leads are used in this test to minimize pickup from electrostatic
and electromagnetic fields.

Performance Verification
Measurements to be made and recorded in Performance Test record
1Connect the BNC of the Shielded Test Lead to the BNC T on the
Voltmeter.
1Connect shielded test lead (Pomona 5292-48) to Left Hand supply
output via LEMO connector.
2Measure the loaded DC voltage of the LH supply output. Record the
voltage in the LH output Voltage section of the Performance Test
Record.
3Measure the loaded AC (the AC mode of the voltmeter must be selected)
output voltage. Record the AC voltage in the LH AC output Voltage
section of the Performance Test Record.
4Connect shielded probe to RH supply output via LEMO connector.
5Measure the loaded DC output voltage of the RH supply output. Record
the voltage in the RH output Voltage section of the Performance Test
Record.
6Measure the loaded AC (the AC mode of the voltmeter must be selected)
output voltage. Record the AC voltage in the RH AC output Voltage
section of the Performance Test Record.
