Q. What happens if the camera loses power during the
upgrade?
A. If power is lost during the upgrade, please unplug the
power to the camera, wait 5 seconds, then replug the
camera. Then you will restart the program, follow the same
steps and start the process again.
Q. The COM port is not showing up?
A. If you do not see the camera in device manager, that
means you will have to manually install the drivers. Please
look under the “other devices” or “unverisal serial bus
controller” for the camera. You can simply find it by
unplugging the USB, and checking which device dissapears.
If it is showing up as a error sign like this: then you will
need to install the drivers. First try installing the drivers
automatically. If that doesn’t work, you can find them here:
https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
Please select your correct Windows download, and
download the file to your desktop. From there, go back to
device manager and right click the failed camera device,
head to properties, driver, and update driver. Then select
browser my computer for drivers, and double click on the
downloaded file on the desktop. If it does not take that, you
might have to extract the downloaded file first, then try
again with that folder.
