1. PREFATORY NOTES
Buying your AIRPRESS compressor installation, you have become the owner of a
compressor installation with a high performance and reliability level. Correct use
and regular maintenance will increase the life of the compressor.
In this manual you will find operation and maintenance instructions. Read it
carefully and keep it as a guide to your compressor.
The compressor has been built to supply compressed air. In particular the
appliance cannot be used to produce air to be breathed by humans or used on
direct contact with foodstuffs. The appliance must be used only for the purpose for
which it was specifically designed. All other uses are to be considered incorrect
and therefore unreasonable. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any
damage resulting from improper, incorrect or unreasonable use. This machine is
not suitable for external installation.

2.0 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Important: please read and observe the following safety instructions before
using the machine.
•Nobody must be allowed to use the compressor unless they have read the
instruction manual and have been instructed in the regulations to follow for
correct and safe use.
•The machine must be used by adults only. Use of the compressor by
apprentices of not less than 16 years of age must be supervised by an adult
authorised to use the machine.
•Keep children and visitors away from the working area.
•Be cautious when using compressed air. Never aim the air flow at people or
animals. Do not use compressed air to clean clothing.
•Compressed air is not suitable to inhale.
•Do not wear loose clothing or neckties that can get caught in moving parts.
Preferably wear safety goggles, nonslip footwear and wear protective hair
covering to contain long hair.
•Only use the compressor outside in dry, well-ventilated surroundings and do not
expose the machine to rain.
•The compressor should be placed in such way that all points, destined to carry
it will really do so. Take also care of a horizontal position.
•This machine is not fit for continuous running, but service for 30% per 60
minutes.
•The working parts of the machine can become hot during operation. Let the
machine cool down after use.
•Keep your work area clean and well lighted.
•Do not use the machine in areas where fumes from paint, solvents or
flammable liquids pose a potential hazard.
•Do not exceed the maximum operating pressure and only use the machine in
an ambient temperature between +5ºC and +40ºC.
•Never attempt to tamper with the protections of the machine or to operate the
machine without these.
•After each use the tank must be vented and the moisture collected in the tank
must be bled. Not bleeding the tank can lead to leakage and may cause a
dangerous situation.
•Check that the electric circuit is adequately protected and that it corresponds
with the power, voltage and frequency of the motor. Check that there is a
ground connection and a regulation differential switch upstream.
•Use cables with an adequate section and avoid use of free and inadequately
insulated connections.
•Never open the pushbutton box on the motor. Should this be necessary,
contact a qualified electrician.
•Make sure that the machine and the cable never come in contact with water.
•Treat the power cable with care. Do not attempt to move the machine by pulling
the cable. Do not yank the cable to unplug it; keep the cable away from

excessive heat, oil and sharp objects.
•Never leave the machine unattended with the power supply "on". Also
disconnect the power cable when:
- you leave the machine, even for a short time
- not in use
- carrying out maintenance work
- changing attachment or moving the machine.
•WARNING: the warnings, cautions and instructions discussed in this
instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that
may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and
caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be
supplied by the operator.
•Only those persons who are aware of how to use the compressor by having
read this manual, should use the machine. Injudicious use may cause danger.
Danger plates
The plates fitted on the compressor unit are part of the machine; they have been
applied for safety purposes and must not be removed or spoiled for any reason.
CAUTION
The air compressor should be operated on a dedicated 16 amp circuit.
Always use more air hose before utilizing extension n cords. All extension
cords used must be 1,5 mm2with a maximum length of 10 meters. The
circuit fuse type must be a time delay. Low voltage could cause damage to
the motor.
3. WARNINGS
Failure to comply with instructions in this manual could result in personal
injury, property damage, and/or voiding of your warranty
Following the instructions in this manual will provide a longer and safer service
life for your air compressor.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR EXPLOSION, NEVER SPRAY
FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS IN A CONFINDED AREA.
It is normal for the motor and pressure switch to produce sparks while operating.
If sparks come into contact with vapours from gasoline or other solvents, they,
may ignite causing fire or explosion. Always operate the compressor in a well-
ventilated area. Do not smoke while spraying. Do not spray where sparks or
flame are present. Keep compressor as far from spray area as possible.
The solvents Trichloroethane and Methylene Chloride can chemically react with
aluminium used in paint spray guns, paint pumps, etc, and cause an explosion.
If you are using these solvents, use only stainless steel spray equipment. This
does not affect your air compressor, but may affect the equipment being used.
Do not weld on the air tank of this compressor. Welding on the air compressor

tank may reduce the tank's strength and cause an extremely hazardous
condition. Welding on the tank in any manner will void the warranty.
Check the manufacturer's maximum pressure rating for air tools and
accessories. Compressor outlet pressure must be regulated so as to never
exceed the maximum pressure rating of the tool.
High temperatures and moving parts are present under the shroud. To prevent
burns or other injuries, DO NOT operate with the shroud removed. Allow the
compressor parts to cool before handling or servicing.
Be certain to read all labels when you are spraying paints or toxic materials, and
follow the safety instructions. Use a respirator mask if there is a chance of
inhaling anything you are spraying. Read all instructions and be sure that your
respirator mask will protect you.
Do not adjust the pressure switch or relief valve for any reason. Doing so voids
all warranties. They have been pre-set at the factory for the maximum pressure
of this unit.
Pull the pressure relief valve ring daily to ensure that the valve is functioning
properly, and to clear the valve of any possible obstructions.
Fasten the compressor down securely if transporting is necessary. Pressure
must be released from the tank before transporting.
Protect the air hose and electrical cord from damage and puncture. Inspect
them weekly for weak or worn spots, and replace if necessary.
DISCONNECT POWER AND RELEASE ALL PRESSURE FROM THE
SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL, SERVICE, RELOCATE OR
PERFORM ANY MAINTENANCE.
GLOSSARY
Cut-in Pressure: The air compressor will automatically start to the tank when
the pressure drops below the prescribed minimum.
Cut-Out Pressure: The point at which the motor stops when the tank has
reached maximum air pressure,

5. PARTS & FEATURES (page 1)
Drain valve : used to drain condensation from the air tank. Located at bottom of
the tank.
Motor thermal overload: the motor has an automatic thermal overload
protector. If the motor overheats, this protector will shut off the motor. The motor
must be allowed 30 minutes to cool before restarting.
Pressure switch: this controls the power to the motor and also the cut-in/cut-
out pressure settings. This switch serves as the Auto-On/Off positions for the
unit.
Air intake filter: provides clean air to the pump and must always be kept free of
debris. Check on a daily basis or before each use.
Air compressor pump: oil lubricated direct driven pump that compresses air,
which is distributed to the tack.
Check valve: when the pump is not in operation the valve closes to retain air
pressure inside the tank.
Pressure relief valve: the pressure relief valve located behind the pressure
switch is designed to automatically release compressed air when the air
compressor reaches cut-out pressure. The release air should only escape
momentarily and the valve should then close.
Tank safety valve: used to allow excess tank pressure to escape into the
atmosphere. This valve
should only open when the tank pressure is above the maximum rated pressure.
Outlet pressure gauge: Indicates the outgoing air pressure to the tool and is
controlled by the regulator
Tank pressure gauge
Indicates the reserve air pressure in the tank.
Regulator: the regulator controls the air pressure coming from the air tank. To
increase the pressure, turn the knob clockwise and to decrease the pressure
turn the knob counterclockwise.

Wheels: roll the unit on its wheels to move it into position for use and storage
Handle: use the convenient handle to move the air compressor into the desired
position for use and storage.
Tank: stores high pressure air from the air compressor pump.
6. INSTALLATION & ASSEMBLY
WARNING
The air compressor should be turned off and unplugged from the power source
before any maintenance is performed as well as the air bled from the tank and
the unit allowed time to cool. Personal injuries could occur from moving parts,
electrical sources, compressed air or hot surfaces.
CAUTION: do not attempt to start the air compressor without first
checking the oil level. Serious damage can result running the compressor
without oil. The pump is shipped with oil from the factory. If necessary
refill with Airpress compressor oil, order No 36398, until the oil reaches
the center of the red circle in the sight glass
WARNING
Drain the tank to release all tank air pressure before removing the oil fill cap. Be
sure the air vent in the oil fill cap is free from debris. If air vent is blocked,
pressure can build in crankcase causing damage to the compressor and
possible personal injury.
Before Starting the Air Compressor for the First Time: check oil level!
If necessary refill with Airpress compressor oil. Proceed in small intervals when
adding oil to make sure you do not overfill the crankcase with oil (oil tank
capacity 0,25 litres).
To access the oil fill tube, remove the side access panel. Remove the oil fill tube
by turning it counter-clock-wise by hand. Fill the compressor pump at slow
intervals until the oil reaches the center of the red circle in the sight glass.
Air Intake Filter Assembly
The air filter assembly is pre-installed. If it is not and is packed loose in the
carton, install the air intake filter assembly by screwing the male fitting on the
plastic housing into the female fitting in the back side of the housing. Make sure
the air filter assembly is not damaged.
HANDLE ASSEMBLY
Remove the screws and allen wrench that are provided in the hardware bag.
Insert the handle onto the base by sliding it along the grooves in the top of the
base. Once fully inserted into the grooves, install the screws using the alien
wrench provided.

Location of the Air Compressor
The air compressor should always be located in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated
environment. The unit should have at minimum, 12 inches of space on each
side. The air filter intake should be free of any debris or obstructions. Check the
air filter on a daily basis to be sure it is clean and in working order.
Grounding Instructions
This product should be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit,
grounding reduces the risk of lectric shock by providing an escape wire for the
electric current. This product is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire
with an appropriate grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that
is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and
ordinances Check with a qualified electrician or service personnel if these
instructions are not completely understood or if in doubt as to whether the tool is
properly grounded.
WARNING
Improper installation of the grounding plug will result in a risk of electric shock. If
repair or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the
grounding wire to either flat blade terminal. The wire with insulation having an
outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes is the grounding wire.
Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions are
not completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the product is properly
grounded. Do not modify the plug provided; if it will not fit the outlet, have the
proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
This product is for use on a circuit having a nominal rating of 230 volts and is
factory-equipped with a specific electric cord and plug to permit connection to a
proper electric circuit. Make sure that the product is connected to an outlet
having the same configuration as the plug. No adapter should be used with this
product. If the product must be reconnected for use on a different type of electric
circuit. qualified service personnel should make the reconnection.
CAUTION
Never use an extension cord with this product. Use additional air hose instead
of an extension cord to avoid power loss and permanent motor damage.
Break in Procedures
No break in procedure is required by the user. This product is factory tested to
ensure proper operation and performance.
