To maintain good performance
Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty or humid.
In particular, do not keep the unit:
●in ahigh humidity area such as bathroom
●near aheater
●in an area exposed to direct sunlight (inside aparked car, where there
could be a considerable rise in temperature)
Note on listening with the headphones
●Listen at moderate volumes to avoid hearing damage.
●Do not wear the headphones while driving or cycling. It may create a
traffic hazard,
●You should use extreme caution or temporarily discontinue use in poten-
tially hazardous situations, such as walking, jogging, etc.
●Wear them properly: Lis left, Ris right.
Cassette tapes H
●Check and tighten slack tape before use with apencil or similar tool as
illustrated. Slack tape may break or get jammed in the mechanism.
●C-1OO or longer tapes are extremely thin and easily deformed or dam-
aged. They are not recommended for use in this unit.
To use with the belt clip ❑
Replace the batteries when the OPE/BATT indicator becomes dim, tape
speed slows down or becomes uneven.

Note on dry cell batteries

Use only the optional AC adaptor (AIWA AC-620/AC-302).

Cambie Ias pilas cuando el indicador OPE/BATT se oscurezca, la cinta se

Cassettes ❑
●V&ifier et dliminer tout rel~chement de la bande avec un crayon ou un
outil similaire comme indiqu6 sur I’illustration. Sinon, la bande pourrait se
casser ou s’enrouler clans Ie m6canisme,
●Les bandes des cassettes C-100 ou plus sent tres fines et se ddforment
ou s’endommagent facilement. Lemploi de telles cassettes n’est pas
recommand6.
Utilisation avec une pince de ceinture ❑
INSERTION DES PILES SECHES ❑
Remplacer Ies piles quand I’indicateur OPE/BATT devient faible, la vitesse
de defilement baisse ou devient inegale.

PLAYBACKB RADIO RECEPTION ❑
Set the TAPE/FM/AM switch to TAPE to turn off the power after listening.
Basic operations
Press the following buttons. When listening to FM stereo broadcasting
Set the FM ST/MONO switch to the FM ST position. If the FM stereo signal
is weak, set the switch to the MONO position. The sound will be heard in
monaural but distortion will be reduced.
To stop the tape ■STOP button
To fast forward 44 FF button For better reception ❑
FM: The headphone cord functions as the FM antenna. Keep it extended.
AM: Turn the unit to find the position which gives the best reception.
To rewind ➤>REW button
●Rewinding is faster than fast forwarding. To fast forward the tape faster,
turn the cassette over and press the ➤>REW button.
●Rewinding does not stop at the end of the tape. Be sure to press the
9STOP button to release the ➤>REW button.
To select the tape type@
NORM: For Type I(normal) tapes
H1/MTL: For Type H(high/CrOz) and Type IV (metal) tapes
To obtain powerful heavy bass
Slide the SUPER BASS switch upward.
MAINTENANCE ❑
To clean the head and the tape path
After every 10 hours of use, clean the head and the tape path with a head
cleaning cassette or cotton swab moistened with cleaning fluid or denatured
alcohol. (These cleaning kits are commercially available.)
When cleaning with acotton swab@, wipe ~, @and @.
To clean the cabinet
Use asoft cloth lightly moistened with amild detergent solution.
Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine or thinner.
REPRODUCTION ❑RECEPCION DE LA RADIO ❑
Mueva el interruptor TAPE/FM/AM ala posici6n TAPE para desconectar la
corriente despues de escuchar.
Cuando se escuchan transmisiones de FM en estereo
Mueva el interruptor FM ST/MONO ala posici6n FM ST. Si la sefial FM
estereo esta debit, mueva el interruptor ala posici6n MONO. El sonido se
escucharA en monoaural pero con menos distortion.

FM: El cable del casco auricular funciona como antena FM. Mant6ngala
alargada.
AM: Gire el aparato hasta encontrar la position en la que se escuche mejor.
●El rebobinado es m& r~pido que el avarice r~pido. Para avanzar mas
r~pidamente la cinta, invierta el casete ypresione el boton ➤>REW.
●El rebobinado no se para al final de la cinta. Presione el boton ■STOP
para soltar el bot6n E> REW.
Para seleccionar el tipo de cinta @
NORM: Para cintas de Tipo I(normal)
Hi/MTL: Para cintas Tipo H(alto/CrOz) yTipo IV (metal)
MANTENIMIENTO ❑
Para Iimpiar la cabeza yel trayecto de la cinta
Despues de cada 10 horas de USO,Iimpie la cabeza yel trayecto de la cinta
con un cassette para Iimpieza de cabezas o un algodon empapado en Iiquido
de Iimpieza oalcohol desnaturalizado. (PodrA adquirir estos juegos en IOS
comercios del ramo.)
Cuando haga la Iimpieza con un algod6n @, Iimpie @, @y@.
Para Iimpiar el mueble
Utilice un pafio suave Iigeramente humedecido en una solution detergence
nuetra.
No utilice disolventes fuertes tales como alcohol, bencina ocjiluyente.
Para escuchar graves m~s potentes
Deslice el interruptor SUPER BASS hacia arriba.
LECTURE ERECEPTION RADIO ❑
R6gler Ie commutateur TAPE/FM/AM 4TAPE pour mettre hors tension apr&s
I’ecoute.
Ecoute d’6missions FM st6reo
R6gler Ie commutateur FM ST/MONO aFM ST. Si Ie signal FM sterdo est
faible, mettre Ie commutateur sur MONO. Le son sera monaural, mais la
distortion sera reduite.
Pour obtenir une meilleure r6ception ❑
FM: Le cordon des ecouteurs sert d’antenne FM. Le maintenir dtendu.
AM: Tourner I’appareil pour trouver la position assurant la meilleure
reception.
Fonctionnement de base
Presser Ies touches suivantes.
Pour l’arr%t Touche ■STOP
Pour I’avance rapide Touche 4+ FF
Pour le rebobinage Touche -REW

●Le rebobinage est plus rapide que I’avance rapide. Retourner la cassette
et presser la touche -REW pour faire avancer la bande plus vite.
●Le rebobinage ne s’arr6te pas en fin de bande. Ne pas oublier de presser
la touche ■STOP pour lib6rer la touche ➤>REW. ENTRETIEN ❑
Pour s61ectionner Ie type de bande @
NORM: Bande de Type 1(normal)
H1/MTL: Bandes Type H(high/CrOz) et Type IV (metal)
Pour obtenir des basses puissances
Glisser Ie commutateur SUPER BASS vers Ie haut.
Nettoyage de la t6te et du parcours de la bande
Toutes Ies dix heures d’utilisation, nettoyer la t~te et Ie parcours de la bande
avec une cassette de nettoyage de t&e ou une ouate de coton humectee de
Iiquide de nettoyage ou d’alcool d6nature. (Ces kits de nettoyage sent
disponibles clans Ie commerce.)
Au nettoyage avec une ouate de coton @, nettoyer ~, @et @.
Nettoyage du coffret
Utiliser un chiffon doux humecte de solution detergence deuce. Ne pas utiliser
de solvant fort, tel qu’alcool, benzine ou Iiquide de nettoyage.
