PRECAUTIONS
To maintain good performance
Do not use the unit in places which are extremely
hot, cold, dusty or humid.
In particular, do not keep the unit:
●in ahigh humidity area such as abathroom
●near aheater
●in an area exposed to direct sunlight (inside a
parked car, where there could be a considerable
rise in temperature)
●Do not open the battery compartment with wet
hands.
●Wipe the unit thoroughly before inserting batteries.
●Do not soak the unit in water.

●Listen at moderate volumes to avoid hearing
damage.
●Do not wear the headphones while driving orcycling.
It may cause atraffic hazard.
●Do not listen at high volumes while walking,

hazardous situations.

INSERTING DRY CELL m
BATTERIES +❑
Open the battery compartment inside the unit and
insert two size AA (R6) batteries with the ~and O
marks correctly aligned.
Battery replacement +E
Replace the batteries with new ones when the OPE/
BATT indicator becomes dim.
●Before replacing the batteries, be sure to turn off
the power to prevent the erasure of preset station
memories and exercise calculation.
●The unit retains the preset station memories for
about 1minute without batteries. To prevent the
erasure of the memories, replace the batteries
quickly.
Note on dry cell batteries
●Make sure that the @and 0 marks are correctly
aligned.
●Do not mix different types of batteries, or an old
battery with anew one.
●Never recharge the batteries, apply heat to them or
take them apart.
●When not using the batteries, remove them to
prevent needless wear.
●If liquid leaks from the batteries, wipe thoroughly to
remove.
Using on AChouse current -+ ❑
Connect the optional AC adaptor Aiwa AC-620/
AC-302.

PILES SECHES +❑
Abra la caja de Ias pilas ycoloque dos pilas de
tamafio AA (R6) con Ias marcas ~yO
correctamente alineadas.
Cambio de Ias pilas +❑
Cambie Ias pilas por otras nuevas cuando empiece
aapagarse el indicador OPE/BATT.
●Antes de cambiarlas pilas, confirme que el interruptor
principal estadesconectado paraevitarque se puedan
borrar Ias emisoras programadas de la memoria yel
calculo del ejercicio.
●El aparato conserva Ias emisoras programadas en
la memoria durante un minuto aunque no esten
instaladas Ias pilas. Para evitar que se puedan
Ilegar aborrar de la memoria, cambie Ias pilas 10
mas rapidamente posible.
Notas sobre Ias pilas
●Con firme que Ias marcas C) yeestan
correctamente alineadas,
●No mezcle distintos tipos de pilas o una pila vieja
con una nueva,
●No recargue, caliente odesarme Ias pilas.
*Si no se va autilizar el aparato durante mucho
tiempo, saque Ias pilas para evitar que se gasten
inutilmente.
●Si sale el Iiquidode Ias pilas, Iimpiecompletamente
antes de sacarlas.
Utilization de la corriente electrica CA+ ❑
Conecte el adaptador de CA optional Aiwa
AC-6201AC-302.
Ouvrez Ie Iogement des piles clans I’appareil, et
inserez-y deux piles format AA (R6), en alignant
correctement Ies marques 0et 0.
Replacement des piles+ E
Remplacez Ies piles par des neuves quand
I’indicateur OPE/BATT commence afaiblir.
●Avant de remplacer les piles, n’oubliez pas de
mettre hors tension pour eviter I’effacement des
memoires de stations prereglees et du calcul des
exercices.
●Saris piles, I’appareil conserve Ies memoires de
stations prereglees pendant environ 1minute.
Remplacez rapidement Ies piles pour eviter Ieur
effacement.
Remarques sur Ies piles
●Respectez Ies polarites C) et 0.
●Ne melangez pas different types de pile, ou des
piles neuve et ancienne.
●Ne rechargez pas, ne chauffez pas et ne demontez
pas Ies piles.
“Quand Ies piles ne sent pas utilisees, retirez-les
pour eviter toute usure inutile.
●Essuyez entierement tout Iiquide fuyant des piles
pour I’eliminer.

Connect the supplied headphones to the PHONES
jack of the unit.
Using the belt clip +❑
Attach the supplied belt clip to the main unit and
install it to your belt.
Using the hand strap +E

Fit the projection @into the hole.
Attach the belt clip to the unit.
Fasten the hand strap. Fit the projections into the
holes completely.

Serrez la dragonne. Inserez completement Ies
saillies clans Ies trous.

HOLDswitches +❑
When operating with the main unit, turn the HOLD/
LOCWOPEN switch to LOCK of the main unit.
When operating with the remote control, release
the HOLD switch of the remote control.
When not using the unit, set both HOLD switches
to hold position. Accidentally pressed buttons on the
cassette holder will not function.
Volume +❑
After setting the VOLUME control of the main unit
around the center position, adiust the volume with
the VOL control of the remote control.
Super bass +❑
Set the SUPER BASS switch to ON to emphasize
low frequencies.
Cassette tapes +❑
●Check and tighten slack tape before use with a
pencil or similar tool as illustrated. Slack tape may
break or get jammed in the mechanism.
●C-100 or longer tapes are extremely thin and easily
deformed or damaged. They are not recommended
for use in this unit.

Interruptores de bloqueo HOLD+❑
Cuando haga funcionar con Ios controles del
aparato, gire el interruptor HOLD/LOCK/OPEN a
LOCK en el aparato principal,
Cuaneto haga Wnciortar con el control remoto,
desconecte el interruptor de bloqueo HOLD del
control remoto.
Cuando no utilice el aparato, conecte ambos
interruptores HOLD ala position de bloqueo. Aunque
oprima poraccidente un boton en et compartimiento
del casete el aparato no funcionara.
Volumen +H
Despues de ajustar el control VOLUME de la unidad
principal alrededor de la position central, ajuste el
volumen con el control VOL del control remoto.
Super graves +❑
Mueva el interruptor SUPER BASS aON para dar
mayor enfasis a10sgraves.
Casetes +❑
●Si la cinta esta floja, enrolle con un Iapiz o
herramienta similar, tal como se indica en la figura.
Una cinta floja puede cortarse oenrollarse en el
mecanismo.
●Las cintas C-1 00 0 mas Iargas son muy finas y
pueden deformarse odaharse facilmente. Se
recomienda no usar estos tipos de cintas en este
aparato.

Ala commandea I’appareil, tournezlecommutateur
HOLD/LOCK/OPEN de I’appareil sur LOCK.
Si vous utilisez la telecommande, Iiberez Ie
commutateur HOLD de la telecommande.
Quand I’appareil n’est pas utilise, reglez Ies deux
commutateurs HOLD en position de maintien. Les
touches pressees par inadvertence sur Ie Iogement
de cassette seront inoperantes.
Volume +❑
Reglez la commande VOLUME sur I’appareil vers la
position centrale, puis ajustez Ie volume avec la
commande VOL de la telecommande.
Super graves +E
Reglez Ie commutateur SUPER BASS aON pour
accentuer Ies basses frequencies.
Cassettes +E
●Verifiez et eliminez tout mou clans la bande avant
I’utilisation, al’aidedun crayon oud’unobjet similaire
comme indique. Une bande mat enroulee peut se
casser ou s’enrouler clans Ie mecanisme.
●La bande des cassettes C-100 ou plus Iongues est
extr~mement fine et se deforme ou s’endommage
facilement. L’emploi de ces cassettes n’est pas
recommande sur cet appareil.

Conecte 10sauriculares que vienen con el aparato

para abrir el compartimiento del casete.
2Coloque un casete.

Despues de colocar un casete, cierre el soporte
del casete ymueva el interruptor HOLD/LOCK/
OPEN aLOCK.
3Presioneel boton de reproduction <EPLAY.
Se repiten Ias dos caras continuamente. Para
cambiar el Iado quese esta reproduciendo, deslice
el interruptor DIR.

TUNING INTO ASTATION m
1Turn the HOLD/LOCK/OPEN switch to LOCK.
When operating with the remote control, set the
TUN/P.SET/HOLD switch to TUN.
2Press RADIO ON/OFF BAND repeatedly to
select aband.
3Press +or -to tune into astation.
After listening, keep RADIO ON/OFF BAND
pressed for about 1second to turn off the power.
For quick tuning
Keep either +or -pressed for 1or 2seconds.
When astation is tuned in, the frequency indicator
stops automatically. However, it may not stop if the
broadcast signal is weak.
For belter reception +❑
FMiTViWEATHER: The headphone cord functions
as the FM antenna. Keep it extended.
AM: Turn the unit to find the position that gives the
best reception.
To listen to FM stereo broadcasts+❑
Set the FM MODE switch inside the cassette holder
to STEREO.
If the FM stereo signal is weak, set it to MONO. The
sound will be heard in monaural, but distortion will be
reduced.

Mantenga presionado i- o-durante 1 0 2
segundos. Cuando se sintoniza una emisora, el
indicador de frecuencia se para automaticamente
paraescuchar dicho programa. Sin embargo, puede
no parar si la sefial transmitida es muy debil.
Recepci6n optima+ ❑
FMrTV/WEATHER El cable delos auriculares actua
como antena de FM. Mantengala 10 mas
extendida posible.
AM: Gire el aparato hasta encontrar la position en la
que la recepcion sea mas nitida.
Programas de FM en estereo + ~
Mueva el interrupter FM MODE dentro del
compartimiento del casete aSTEREO.
S} la seiial de FM estereo es muy mala, mueva a
MONO. El sonido se escuchara monoaural pero no
habra tanta interferencia de ruidos en [a recepcion.
ACCORD D’UNE STATKIN -
1Tournez Ie commutaleur HOLD/LOCK/OPEN
sur LOCK.
Quand vous utilisez la telecommande, reglez Ie
commutateur TUN/P.SET/HOLD aTUN.
2Appuyez de maniere rep6tee sur RADIO ON/
OFF BAND pour selectionner une bande.
3Appuyez sur +ou -pour sccorder une
station.
Apres I’ecoute, maintenez RADIO ON/OFF BAND
presse pendant environ 1seconde pour couper
I’alimentation.
Pour I’accord rapide
Maintenez i- ou -presse 1 ou 2 secondes. A
I’accord d’une station, I’indicateur de frequence
s’arr~tera automatiquement. Mais ii pourra ne pas
s’arr&er si Ie signal d’emission est faible.
Pour ameliorer la reception +El
FMflWAVEATHER: Le cordon des ecouteurs fait
office ct’antenne FM. Maintenez-le etendu,
AM: Tournez I’appareil pour trouver la position
assurant la meilleure reception.
Pour r%orrterdes emissions FM stereo+ ❑
Reglez Ie commutateur FM MODE clans Ie Iogement
de cassette aSTEREO.
Si Ie son FM stereo est faible, reglez-le aMONO. Le
son sera monaural, mais la deformation sera reduite.

Automatic presetting
You can preset up to 10 stations on each band.
1Turn the HOLD/LOCK/OPEN switch to LOCK.
2Press RADIO ON/OFF BAND repeatedly to
select aband.
3Keep AUTO PRESET pressed for about 2
seconds.
The unit searches and memorizes the receivable
stations. Auto presetting ends when 10 stations
have been preset.
If there is astationyouwish to skip during presetting
When astation is tuned in, scanning stops and the
tuned station is heard for 2seconds. Press AUTO
PRESET within 2seconds to skip this station.
Note
When broadcast signals are weak, stations cannot
be preset automatically. Preset them manually.

MEMORIZATION mm
Mernorizacion automatic
Se pueden memorizar hasta 10 emisoras en cada
banda.
1Gireel interruptor HOLD/LOCK/OPEN aLOCK.
2Presione varias veces RADIO ON/OFF BAND
para seleccionar una banda.
3Mantanga presionado el boton AUTO PRESET
durante 2segundos.
El aparato busca ymemoriza todas Ias emisoras
sintonizables. La memorization automatic
termina cuando se han memorizado 10 emisoras,
Si hayuna emisora que no desea memorizar
Cuando se sintoniza una emisora, se detiene la
busqueda yse escucha la emisora durante 2
segundos. Presione el boton AUTO PRESET durante
esos 2segundos para no memorizar esa emisora.
Nota
No podra memorizarautomaticamente Ias emisoras
que transmiten sefiales debiles. Memoricelas
manualmente.
PREREGLAGE

II est possible de preregler jusqu’a 10 stations sur
chaque bande.

Poursauter une station pendant Ie prer6glage
Quand la station est accordee, Ie balayage s’arr6te
et la station accordee est audible 2secondes.
Appuyez sur AUTO PRESET pendant ces 2
secondes pour sauter cette station.
Remarque
Si Ies signaux d’emission sent faibles, Ie prereglage
automatique des stations est impossible. Dans ce
cas, prereglez-les manuellement.

Manual presetting
Using the preset numbers (1 –10), up to 10 stations
can be preset on each band.
1Turn the HOLD/LOCWOPEN switch to LOCK.
2Tune into astation.
3Keep one of the preset number buttons pressed
for 2seconds to select the preset number.
The PRESET indicator and preset number light
up.
To preset more stations, repeat steps from the
beginning.
To rxeset on 6 – 10. press +5 once. While 5is
flashing, keep one of the preset number buttons (1
-5) pressed for 2seconds.
e.g.) To select the preset number 8, press +5 and
kee~ rxessed 3for 2seconds.
