Welcome
Wecongratulateyou on purchaseof“NewAll-Purpose DoorGuard”
(NADG = NUDV),whichisthe improved version ofsuccessful“All-Purpose
DoorGuard”(ADG=UDV).Thisall-purposeguardwill widelymanage to
satisfyyourneedsofcommunication withpersonsatthe building frontdooror
yourcompanyentry,orfamilyhousedoorway.The universalityliesin
possibilitytoconnectthisguardtoan internalline ofyourbranchexchange
regardlesstotype and producerofthisexchange (analog line).Up totwo 16-
digitnumbers,including “*”,“ # ”, Pause and Flash intone dialing,can be
programmed toeachbutton.
The basicguardmoduleissupplied eitherwithoutbutton,orwithone or
twobuttons.Furtherthe wholesystemallowstobe enlarged byNC-mod4 and
NM-mod4 modulesup to64 buttonsusing the basicmechanical MK1...MK4
units.The wholeassemblycan be completed withcoverframeorrain-
protectivecanopybothunderplaster, and on plaster.
The guardissupplied frombranchexchange line –hisfeaturesremind a
loud telephone.The basicfeaturesinclude the possibilitytoopen up totwo
doorsbymeansofconnected electrical locks(the first10 buttonscan be used
fordoorcode opening)and easierprogramming byeitherthrough serialline (or
USB) fromPC,orusing the telephone withtone dialing intwoways,eitherby
communication withguardafterentering 4-digitservicepassword,or
connecting the programming stretcheron guardbasicboard.Having been
forgotthe servicepasswordit ispossibletousethe second way.

Toensurethebasicfunction the telephone line can be connected –the
terminalmarked as"ab LINE".It isconnected inthe samewayasany
telephone toanybranchexchange.The guard’scircuitsaresupplied from
telephone line, sothatnothingshouldbe connected forvoicecommunication.
Ifone ortwoswitchesarenecessary tobe used,the A.C.voltage ofmin.

energized to"12V"terminal.Thissourceloading dependsonnumberof
modules,sinceitsimultaneouslyservesfeeding oflighting through visiting

necessary toconsiderthe electricallock demand.Inpracticethe alternating

designation meansan idle-disconnected contact, "COM"meansapincontact
(middle)and "NC"meansan idle-connected contact. The contactsofboth
switchesaregalvanicallyisolated eachotherand fromotherguardcircuits.The
variantsofconnection areshownon fig. 3.

The "G"Faston 2.8mm terminal protectsagainststaticelectricity–tobe
connected toearthing.
The "HEAT"jumperservesthe switching ofboardheating.Thisfunction
requiresthe connection of 12Vsupplyon "12V"marked terminal.
The "EXPANSION"marked connectorservesthe connection ofextending
modulesbymeansofflat cable.
The "PRG"marked connectorprovidesthe guardadjustmentfromPCby
meansof serialcable(KAB) and servestothe servicefordiagnosticsandnew
softwareload.
The "SERVICE"jumperservestodirectaccess toprogramming.Itcan be
used, forexamplebyabsenceofpasswordforprogramming.
Setting voice communication –position trimmersarepresetting from
manufactureand inmajoritycaseagree with, thereforechangessetting altering
onlyinnecessary case.
Forolder version ofboard V1.x(fig.1):
The "VOLUME"trimmerservestothe adjustment ofloudspeaker
volume,it hasno effect tootherguardfeatures. The "MIC"trimmer(placed
underPDVboard)providesthe adjustmentofmicrophone volume.Such
adjustmentcan improvethe featureof speechway, e.g. byambient noiseinthe
street. Atsetting of agreatgainoftrimmer„MIC"isable tohappen, thatsound
fromspeakerdoorphone isinterrupting, nextisnecessitygainoftrimmer„MIC"
makesmaller.
Procedureof setting: trimmerSPK setting tomaximum(turntothe right),
trimmerMICon minimumand atconversation connection subscriberspeaking
(inbuilding)permanenttalk,trimmerMICturning (totheright), untilsound from
speakerbeginsinterrupt,nextgainteenyreducing (moving round aslight
amountleft).It shalleverything be allright.
Fornewer versionboard V6.x(fig.2):
Trimmer"MIC"be instrumentaltosetting loudnessofmicrophone,
trimmer"SPK"be instrumentaltosetting loudness loudspeaker. Inthisversion
isbigreserveingain,thereforeisn't recommended adjust morethan on half,
typicalisin1/3fromminimumgain.Trimmer"TRH"beinstrumental tosetting
levelsactivation ofmicrophone,it means, soasdoorphone "non whoop"owing
toacousticloop soselection,whichdirection haspriority, whetherfrom
microphone, orintoloudspeaker. Level fromwhichvolumewith"switchon"
direction frommicrophone doorphone setting trimmer„TRH".Thissetting
interact levelsurrounding noiseand setting gainofmicrophone „MIC".
Progressofsetting: trimmerMICand SPKsettingin1/4fromminimum
loudness(minimumissenseturning left),trimmerTRH setting incentral
position.Atconversation connection stillytalkand trimmerTRH turningfrom
centralvalue direction tothe left so, tillyou willon theside phone (inbuilding)
hear. Gainof loudspeaker, insomecaseofmicrophoneset-up according to
needs.

1.3.2Extending ModulewithNC-mod4, NM-mod4Buttons
Thismoduleissupplied intwodesigns.The NC-mod4 modulehasfour
buttonsand includesthe electronicstobeconnected tothe basicmoduleorto
previousNC-mod4 module.Thismoduleisonlyconnected byflatcable–
buttonsand lighting through isalreadyinterconnected.The terminalsfor
connection ofotherfourbuttonsandcurrentsupplyoflighting arefurther
placed on module(on following NM-mod4).The NM-mod4 moduleisalways
connected toprevious(inrowstarting withbasicmodule)NC-mod4.The
connection isnotprepared and shouldbe done byconductors–see on figure
4.The flatcableconnection is
facilitated byconnectorlocks,
preventing fromrotation,but
tokeep the connection routing
isimperative.
“ToNUDV” isalwaysthe
routing tothe basicmodule.
“ToCmod”isrouting tothe
rowend (on last NC-mod.).

1.3.3NKLAKeyboardModule
The keyboardmoduleisonlyconnected byflatcable aswell asNC-
mod4 module. The onlydifferenceisthat keyboardmoduleisalwaysthelast in
row (no othermodulecan be connected behind it)anditcan be onlylinked to
the first(directlytothe basicmodule),the second (tooutputofthe firstNC-
mod4)orthe third(tooutput ofthe second NC-mod4)positions. It meansthat 0
to18 buttonswithdirectdialing can be used instead ofkeyboard(per
assembly).The mostfrequent used assembliesare:

1.4InstallationofGuardAssembly
1.4.1Installation onPlaster
By installation on plasterthe onlycompactbox-
Rain-ProtectiveCoverKPDxxisused,whichwill
supersedeall mechanicalparts(MKxx,Canopy
xxand Fixing Framexx).The installation ismade
byscrewing tothe wall bymeansof dowels.See
KPD1 on figure.
1.4.2Flush-MountedInstallation

wall.Becarefulinorientation of
assembling holeswhen nearlyMK1

The Protecting Frame(providesoverlapping ofunevennessafter
mounting boxwalling-in)and Canopy(necessary forinstallation inexternal
areas)formotheraccessoriesforflush-mounted installation.When installed in
surroundingswithpossiblewatercondensation (temperaturechanges)orwater
spraying (rain)itisrecommended toconnectthe jumperon basicmodule–
heating ON.
The boardheating hastwo positivefunctionspartlyitheatsupthe
electronicsinwinterattemperaturesbelow–20°C(mostdetailswithextended
temperaturerange hasguaranteed parametersfrom–20°C)and partlywith
externalinstallation atswifttemperaturechangesandhigherairhumidityby
switched heating no watercondensation occursonbasicguardboard,which
assuresitsreliablefunction.
1.5Changeofnameplates
The firststep is dismantling of
afixing frame frommodule,where
wewanttochangeanameplate.It
can be executed byunscrewing of
twoscrewsunderplasticcoverson
fixing frame.When removing the
fixing framewecan see two
independentmodules.The frontpart
(metallic) ofthe button modulehastobe firstseparated fromplasticpart inthis
waythatwewillput off the plasticlug, ensuring the front part on the right side.
Eachbutton hasitsseparatenameplateholdbymeansofplasticflag (see
figure).The papernameplatescan be printed fromExcelform(tobe
downloaded on www.alphatech.cz)orfromNset settingprogram.

2.1SignalingOverview
The all-purposeguardsignalsan acousticconditionstheymayoccur
during operation.Anothersignaling can be done bymeansofred LED(placed
undermicrophone hole).You can listen the signalingsamplesinNsetsetting

2.2VisitoratDoor
The all-purposeguardfunction isinfluenced partlybyused guard
assembly(withkeyboardorwithoutit)and partlybysetting ofguard
parameters(see chapter“ParameterOverview”).
2.2.1GuardwithoutKeyboard
The guard buttons areprovided bynameplatesorpositionsofpersons
inside the object.The incoming person will press the corresponding button,the
guardwill lift up the line neitherimmediately(the button isnotthe firstnumber

fromcode lock),orwithdelay(parameter53) andafterperiod given by
parameter55 will dialthe programmed phone number.The dialing number
differsbychoicemode, whichisset inthe guard(parameter47):
- Day/night mode =being the guardinDaymode,soitisalwaysdialing
anumbersetin parameter1,inNightmode,itisalwaysdialing a
numbersetin parameter2.The mode switchoverissetin parameters
45,46.
-mode ofsecond numbergroup =firstpress –italwaysdialsanumber
setin parameter1.By repeated pressofthe samebutton ordetection
ofbusytone afterdialing the guardwill selectthe numberfromthe
secondgroup (parameter2).The nextpressofthe samebutton again
selectsanumberof the first group, etc..……
Ifavisitorpressesthe button afterguardlifting up, sothe guardwill hang
up foraperiod given by parameter54, lift up the line and dialanewnumber.
The numberchoiceiscarried outbothtone (DTMF),and pulsedialing
according to parameter41 setting.
The switch(codelock)can be controlled byfirst10 buttonsofguard.If
the visitoratdoorpressesbuttonsinsuchcombination thatmeetthe
preprogrammed code (parameters32-34)and the timeamong pressesisnot
biggerthan the setpoint(parameter53),then the guardwill liftup and close
the corresponding switch(ifsetinm=1orm=5modes)tothe period given by
parameter36 event.38.Then it willhang up.
2.2.2GuardwithKeyboard
The guardwithkeyboardcan alsoinclude
besidesthe keyboardup to18 buttonsofdirect
dialing alwaysbehaving astobementioned in
Chapter2.2.1exceptthe code lock.Thisone is
alwayssituated on keyboard.Afterkeyboardis
connected,the position,wherethe keyboardis
connected to, shouldbe set (parameter48).
The keyboardhastwofunctionalbuttons–
key symbol =oncepressing the numerical
combination isconsidered asthecombination forcontrolofthe switches.The
second button –Xsymbol =when pressing the guardimmediatelywillhang up.
The numberselection on keyboardcan be executed intwoways
(parameter49):
- The incoming person isdialing numberastobe doneon phone –the
period among button pressesshouldbelowerthan thevalue given by
parameter53.Afterthisperiod the guardwilllift up and dialthe given
number.
- Onbuttonsthe incoming person isdialing atwo-digit number(from01
to64),whichrepresentsthe memory number,wherethe 16-digit
numberisstored (sameasforbuttons).The numberdialing is

managed byDay/Nightsetting ormode fortwogroupsofnumbers(as
described inChapter2.2.1).
- Version offirmware7.8makesitpossibledialDTMFdialing during talk
fromkeyboard.Thisfeatureitispossibleswitchon onlyby
programming fromphone,fromPCprogramthisfeatureisn't
accessibleand afterprogramming doorphonepossibilitydialfrom
keyboardduring talkisOFF.Parameter40d -d=0switchoff (default),
d=1-3switchon dialling during talk,1=buton keydial*,2=button key
dial #and 3=button keydial“A”.
2.3PersonInsideObject
The person inside objectisconsidered aperson thatisinphone contact
withall-purposeguard.
2.3.1Outgoing Call
The outgoing callisthe callfromguard(caused byvisitor).Afterguard
choicethe telephone isringing inside objectand the lifting up will allow
speaking tothe visitoratdoor.The code choicecan closethe switch
(parameter35), if set tom=1orm=5modes, change overthe Day/Nightmodes
(parameters 45,46)and hang up (parameter43).Theguardin10 seconds
beforecallend (parameter52)willsend anoticeaboutcall end and the call
maybe extended bysign selection (parameter42).The telephone hanging up
will end the call(the exchange issending abusytoneon guard’sline and the
guardalsowill hang up).
2.3.2Incoming Call
The incoming callisthe callfromguard(caused byperson inside object).After
exchange numberselection,wherethe guardisconnected,the guard’sline is
ringing and whensetnumberofringsisover(parameter51),the guardwill lift
up and itispossibletospeak.The possibilitiesarethesameaswithoutgoing
call(Chapter2.3.1).
•Exceptthe first10 seconds,whereextra"#and servicepassword"
(parameter44)can beentered,theguardthen will proceed with
programming mode.
•The otherexception ofincomingcallisbyconnected “SERVICE”jumper.
The guardafterline lifting up proceedsthen withprogramming mode
(without servicepassword).

3Programming ofParameters
3.1ProgrammingthroughPhone
3.1.1EntrytoProgramming
The all-purposedoorguardwill beset toprogramming mode intwoways:
1. bypassword –onlyincomingcall!–answerthe telephone and diala
number,wherethe guardislined (eitherbranchnumber,ifconnected to
branchexchangeornumberofstateline toobject,wheretheguardisplaced
and letyou putthrough tobranchdirectlyconnected withguard).The guard
will answer(you heartone foranswering –see Chapter2.1page 14)
up to10 secdial #xxxx,wherexxxxisthe servicenumberforentry to
programming and ifO.K., the registration tone toprogramming will
soundand afterwardsthe programming tone isheard(see Chapter14
page 14). Inbasicsetting is xxxx =0000.
2. by "SERVICE" jumper –onlyincoming call!–youwill realizethe
connection withguardinthe samewayasinart.1,butwhen the
SERVICEjumperisconnected,then the guardafteranswering directly
comestoprogramming mode –you heartoneforanswering,
registration tone toprogramming and afterwardsthe programming tone
isheard. (see Chapter2.1page 14).
3.1.2Programming ofparameters
The initialstateforprogramming issignaled byprogramming tone and
the guardwill comeback tothisstatealways aftertimeexpiration (5seconds)
even you started toprogramanything.
When programming twotypesofparameterswilloccur.Partlytheyare
parameterswith fixedlength– the majorityofthemtheyare,then the
programming isaffirmed and the parameterisalwaysrecorded immediately
aftermandatory lengthfulfillmentbyacknowledge tone and partlythe
parameters withvariablelength (parameter1,2,32,33,34),followed with
confirmation and the recording oftheparameterafterinactivityperiod expires
(5sec).The onlycasewithimmediaterecording ofparametersisthe fulfillment
of max.numberofrecorded signs(numbers)–byparameters1and 2itis16,
byparameters32,33,34 itis6.
Ifduring programming you enternumber(sign)not allowablebyitsextent
then the guardimmediatelyemitsan errortone,theparameterwill notbe
recorded norchanged,theguardwill cometoinitialstateand itispossibleto
repeat the parametersetting orprogramanotherparameter.
The guardstaysinactiveinprogramming modefor34seconds,then he
will automaticallyhang up.By every dialing ofDTMFtone thisperiod issetup
repeatedly.The selection of parameter9can alsoend the programming mode.
Note1. ifyouwishtokeep the connection (extendthe34secondsperiod)than the
customerwill thinkoverthe othersetting, sopressing e.g.. 7, 0, *or#formtimetotime

willbe sufficientand the guardimmediatelyrespondsbyerrortone,buthe willextend
the period tohanging up..
Note2. The#sign isnotused byentering of32,33,34parameterscan be used for
immediateparameterentering.
3.2ProgrammingfromPC–ProgramNset
Toguard’ssetup bymeansofpersonalcomputer(PC)the specialKAB cable
toserialportand Nsetprogramshouldbe availableand the guardhastobe

run the guardisinthismode –thisstatusisindicated byLEDlighton front
panelby1second flashing.By loss ofconnectionitisnecessary to
disconnectthe cablefromguardand connectitagain–the guarwill
answerand ifNsetprogramrunshe will reporthisconversion to
programming mode.
