AMG-7800 Distributor’s Operations Manual / Installation 3-1
Chapter 3: Installation
WARNING!: The Pay Station is massive. Extreme caution
should be exercised when lifting and positioning the
machine.
Prepare the Installation Site
Prior to installation of the Pay Station, you must make initial preparations at the installation
site. The customer is responsible for providing electrical service to the Pay Station. The
electrical service must meet national, state and local codes and Amano’s operating
specifications. The customer is responsible for making any changes necessary to supply a
constant, noise free power line to the AMG-7800.
The AMG-7800 Series Pay Station is designed to be installed in an indoor or outdoor
sheltered (at least 10 feet from any outside opening) environment, but either location must
be provided with adequate heat, air conditioning and air circulation to maintain the AMG-
7800 in an environment that is within the specified (see Chapter 2) minimum and maximum
temperature and humidity ranges. In an outdoor installation, the AMG-7800 must be
protected to prevent the introduction of both standing and/or blowing moisture, dust, sand
or other contaminants into the unit.
When installing the Pay Station, the bottom of the unit should be level with the facility floor
in order to be compliant with the current reach standards of both the ADA (Americans with
Disabilities Act) (54" side access, 48" front access) and ANSI (American National
Standards Institute) (48" side and front access).
If the Pay Station is being installed in an area exposed to water, the concrete base should
be higher than the surrounding surface in order to prevent water entry. The base must have
sufficient surface area to mount the machine and provide access according to the
Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities section of the ADA.
In either case, the base must be perfectly flat and horizontally levelled. The four 3/8"
mounting studs must protrude from the concrete base at the indicated positions by at least
1-1/4" (30 mm).
The two wiring conduits must be placed at the indicated position (see Mounting). One
conduit must be run for the AC power only while the low voltage control and communication
wiring is routed through the other.
Unpack and Inspect the Equipment
After the AMG-7800 Pay Station has been received, confirm that all parts are included:
The Pay Station is shipped mounted on a pallet surrounded by a cardboard carton. The
accessories listed on the following page are packed inside the Pay Station cabinet. An
installation template is taped to the side of the cabinet.
Any optional accessories (extra cassettes, coin box, etc) will be packaged separately.
Notify Amano Cincinnati if any items are missing. Check the shipping cartons for damage. If
anything is damaged, notify the transportation company and file a claim. The transportation
company is responsible for the shipment after it leaves the factory.
The AMG-7800 must be installed by or under the supervision of factory authorized
personnel according to the instructions described in this manual. Failure to install the unit
properly will result in voiding the warranty for repair or replacement of the unit.

Prepare the Pay Station
Unlock the Door
The Pay Station Security Lock consists of two parts:
An Access Lock: Secures the main locking mechanism. This lock is essentially a plug
which must be removed in order to reach the inner lock.
The Inner Lock: Secures the Pay Station door. Once the Access Lock is removed, the
"T" shaped key is used to open the door.
Figure 3-3: Unlock the Door
1. Insert the Access Key into the Access Lock. Turn the key 180° clockwise until it stops
and remove the lock from the door.
Note: Once the plug lock is removed, leave the key in the plug. When re-inserting the plug,
align the bolt (plunger) on the plug with the groove in the right side of the cylinder
and push all the way in. Rotate the key 180° counterclockwise and remove the key.
2. Insert the "T" key into the door holding the “T” horizontally and align it with the locking
mechanism (there are horizontal lines on the cylinder to aid in alignment). Turn the key
clockwise until some resistance is felt.
3. Open the door.
Reverse this process to lock the door.
Warning!: Do not force the key; damage to the mechanism and the door could
occur if too much force is used.
