Congratulations on your purc ase of t e Antec Twelve Hundred V3.
Antec’s Twelve Hundred V3 gaming case combines maximum performance, cooling and compatibility in
a full-tower package. T irteen drive bays, space for grap ics cards as large as 17.5,” a CPU cutout, an
internal 2.5” SSD drive mount and newly integrated USB 3.0 round off a robust foundation for your
components. T e Twelve Hundred V3 features a top Big Boy 200™ blue LED cooling fan, two rear blue
LED 120 mm fans and t ree front blue LED 120 mm fans. Apart from standard size power supplies, t e
Twelve Hundred V3 can accommodate Antec’s CPX form factor PSUs.
T e Twelve Hundred V3 comes wit out a power supply. Make sure you c oose a power supply t at is
compatible wit your computer components and as a long enoug power arness to reac your
mot erboard and perip eral devices. We recommend our Hig Current Gamer, Hig Current Pro or CP
power supplies for t e latest ATX specification compliance, broad compatibility, and power savings
capability.
At Antec, we continually refine and improve our products to ensure t e ig est quality. It’s possible t at
your new case will differ slig tly from t e descriptions in t is manual. T is isn’t a problem; it’s simply an
improvement. As of t e date of publication, all features, descriptions, and illustrations in t is manual are
correct.

consult t e mot erboard manual for specific mounting instructions and troubles ooting. Before

Hardware Installation
2.1 Setting Up

Place t e screws carefully aside. Inside t e case is t e power supply mount at t e lower rear of
t e case and t e 5.25” drive bay area wit t ree HDD cages inside t e bays. You will also find

2.2
Installing the Motherboard
1.
Lay t e case down so t at t e open side is up.
2. Make sure you ave t e
appropriate I/O panel for t e mot erboard.
If t e panel provided is not suitable for t e mot erboard, please
contact t e mot erboard manufacturer for t e correct I/O panel.
3.
Line up t e mot erboard wit t e standoff oles. Determine w ic
oles line up
and remember w ere t ey are. Not all mot erboards
will matc wit all of t e provided screw oles, and t is is not
necessary for proper functionality. Some standoffs may be pre
installed for your convenience.
4.
Lift up and remove t e mot erboard.
5. Screw
in t e brass standoffs to t e t readed oles t at line up wit
t e mot erboard.
6.
Place t e mot erboard on t e brass standoffs. Screw in t e
mot erboard to t e standoffs wit t e provided P illips

T e mot erboard is now installed.

If you are installing a water cooling system,

2.3 Installing the Power Supply
1. Wit t e case uprig t, place t e power supply on t e four silicone pads on
t e bottom of t e case.
Note: Power supplies wit fans on t e bottom of t e power supply will need
to be mounted so t at t e fan is facing t e top of t e case. Twelve Hundred
V3 provides mounting oles for power supplies wit standard mounting
layouts to be installed upside up or upside down.
2. Pus t e power supply to t e back of t e case and align t e mounting oles.
3. Attac t e power supply to t e case wit t e screws provided.
2.4 Flexi Drive Bay System
T e Twelve Hundred V3 comes wit twelve 5.25” external drive bays at t e front of t e case. T ere are
t ree HDD cages preinstalled inside t e bottom nine 5.25” bays. Eac HDD cage occupies t ree
consecutive 5.25” drive bays and can ouse t ree ard disk drives. For maximum flexibility you can
mount t e HDD cage anyw ere wit in t e external drive bays (i.e., you are not limited to t e bottom six
bays).
Possible Drive Bay combinations include but are not limited to:
• External 3 x 5.25” + internal 9 x HDD – default
• External 6 x 5.25” + internal 6 x HDD – by removing one HDD cage
• External 9 x 5.25” + internal 3 x HDD – by removing two HDD cages
• External 12 x 5.25” by removing all t ree HDD cages
Note: T ere is a middle fan bracket pre-installed on one of t e HDD cages. Install a 120 mm fan to t e
bracket so t e air will be blown into t e case, if you decide to use t e HDD cage as a cooling duct to cool
your grap ics card or CPU. However, t is will stop you from installing your ard drives into t is cage.
Remove t e middle fan bracket from t e HDD cage if you decide to mount your ard drives into t is
cage.
• External 3 x 5.25” + internal 6 x HDD + cooling duct – by adding t e middle fan to one of t e HDD cages
(see Cooling System)
• External 6 x 5.25” + internal 3 x HDD + cooling duct – by adding t e middle fan to one of t e HDD cages
(see Cooling System)
2.5 Internal 3.5” Device Installation
1. Remove bot side panels per t e instructions in Setting Up.
2. Remove t e cage t umbscrews fastening t e HDD cage to t e frame.
3. Slide t e HDD cage forward out of t e front of t e case.
4. Mount t e ard drive in t e drive cage and fasten it using t e long screws provided.

Slide t e HDD cage back into t e case and fasten it wit t umbscrews.
6.
Connect t e appropriate connector(s) from t e power supply
to t e devi
ce(s). Leave some slack in t e connections so t at
you can easily access t e fan filters for cleaning.

Internal 2.5” Device Installation

2.8 Cable Management
T ere is a cable management compartment between t e mot erboard and rig t side panel. You can
tuck or route excess cables in t is compartment.

2. C oose t e cables you would like to pass t roug t e oles be ind t e mot erboard tray and
pull t em out of t e power supply c amber towards t e rig t side of t e case.
3. Use t e cable ties provided to old t em in place.
4. Feed t e cables back t roug t e insertion point nearest t e destination of t e cable. Connect
t e cable and t en pull t e slack back to t e rig t side of t e case.
2.9 Water Cooling Plat orm
T is case comes wit a 5.25” metal plate pre-installed in t e 3rd 5.25” drive bay. T is plate is designed
to allow you to easily mount components of a water cooling kit suc as a pump or reservoir. T e plate
can be mounted in any of t e twelve 5.25” drive bays for maximum flexibility.
Note: T e plate is not pre-drilled. You will need to drill t e appropriate oles to be compatible wit your
water cooling kit.
2.10 Three-Way SLI Con iguration Option
T e Twelve Hundred V3 as eig t expansion slots, making it capable of supporting up to three
graphics cards in triple-SLI configuration. Consult your motherboard and graphics cards
manuals for more information.

Note: Please refer to your mot erboard manual for specific pin outs or location of front panel
connectors.
1. Connect t e Reset switc (labeled RESET SW) to t e mot erboard at t e RST connector. Polarity
(positive and negative) does not matter for switc es.
2. Power Switc (labeled POWER SW) connects to t e PWR connector on t e mot erboard.
3. T ere is no Power LED in t is case. T ree illuminated case fans will turn on w en t ere is power
to t e computer.
4. Hard Drive LED (labeled H.D.D. LED) connects to t e IDE connector. For LEDs, colored wires are
positive (+). W ite or black wires are negative (–). If t e LED does not lig t up w en t e system
is powered on, try reversing t e connection. For more info on connecting LEDs to your
mot erboard, see your mot erboard manual.
3.1 USB 2.0
Connect t e front I/O panel USB cable to t e USB eader pin on your mot erboard. C eck t e
mot erboard manual to ensure t at it matc es t e table below:
3.2 USB 3.0
T ere is a pre-routed cable for t e front-panel USB 3.0 port. Plug t e back end of t is cable into an on-
board USB 3.0 port on your mot erboard to enable t e front USB 3.0 port.

3.3 AC’97/HD Audio Ports
T ere is an Intel® standard 10-pin AC’97 connector and an Intel® 10-pin HDA (Hig Definition Audio)
connector linked to t e front panel of t e case.
You can connect eit er t e AC’97 or t e HDA connector, depending on t e model of t e mot erboard.
Locate t e internal audio connectors from your mot erboard or sound card and connect t e
corresponding audio cable. Consult your mot erboard or sound card manual for t e pin-out positions.
Even if your system supports bot audio standards, you may only use one connector.
3.4 Power Switch / Reset Switch / Hard Disk Drive LED Connectors
Connected to your front panel are LED and switc leads for power, reset, and HDD LED activity. Attac
t ese to t e corresponding connectors on your mot erboard. Consult your mot erboard manual for
specific pin eader locations. For LEDs, colored wires are positive ( + ). W ite or black wires are negative
( – ). If t e LED does not lig t up w en t e system is powered on, try reversing t e connection. For more
information on connecting LEDs to your mot erboard, see your mot erboard manual.
Note: Polarity (positive and negative) does not matter for switc es. T ere is also no Power LED in t is
case. T e illuminated case fans will turn on w en t ere is power to t e computer.

3.5 Rewiring Motherboard Header Connections
T ere may come a time t at you need to reconfigure t e pin-out of a mot erboard eader connector.
Examples could be for your USB eader, audio input eader, or some ot er front panel connector suc
as t e Power Button connector.
Before performing any work, please refer to your mot erboard manual or your mot erboard
manufacturer's website to be sure of t e pin-out needed for your connector. And we strongly
recommend making a notated drawing before beginning work so t at you can recover if your work gets
disturbed.
1. Determine w ic wires you need to remove in
order to rewire your plug to matc t e USB pin-outs
on your mot erboard (refer to your mot erboard
manual). Working on one connector at a time, use
a very small flat ead screwdriver or similar tool to
lift up on t e black tab located beside t e gold
posts (squares). T is will allow you to easily slide
out t e pins from t e USB plug.
2. Working carefully so as not to damage t e wires,
connectors, or pins, slowly remove t e pin from
t e connector. Repeat t ese steps for eac wire
you need to c ange.

Cooling System
4.1 Included Fans
Big Boy 200™ an:
T e Twelve Hundred V3 comes wit a Big Boy 200 mm blue LED fan. T is fan as a t ree-speed switc
t at lets you c oose t e speed best suited to your needs and a switc to turn on or off t e blue LED. T e
default fan speed setting is Low.

Front TriCool™ LED Intake Fans:
T e Twelve Hundred V3 comes wit t ree 120 x 25 mm TriCool™ blue LED fans w ic are pre-installed in
front of eac HDD cage to cool t e ard drives. T ese fans are installed so t e air will be blown into t e
case. Eac fan comes wit a speed control knob at t e front of t e faceplate. Turn t e knob clockwise
to increase t e speed. T e lowest speed is 1200 rpm w ile t e ig est speed is 2000 rpm. See t e
following c art to get appropriate specification.
Rear TriCool™ LED Exhaust Fan
T ere are two 120 x 25 mm TriCool™ blue LED fans preinstalled at t e rear of t e case. T e fans are
installed so t e air will be blown out of t e case. Eac fan as a t ree-speed switc t at lets you c oose
between quiet, performance, or maximum cooling. T ese switc es are located at t e rear of t e case.
T e default fan speed setting is Low.
120 mm Fan Specifications:

Rated Voltage: 12V DC
Operating Voltage: 10.2V ~ 13.8V
Note: T e minimum voltage to start a 120 mm TriCool™ fan is 5V. We recommend t at you set t e fan
speed switc to Hig if you c oose to connect t e fan(s) to a fan control device or to t e Fan-Only
connector found on some Antec power supplies. A fan control device regulates t e fan speed by varying
t e voltage, w ic may start as low as 4.5V to 5V. Connecting a TriCool™ fan set on Medium or Low to a
fan-control device may result in t e fan not being able to start because t e already lowered voltage
from t e fan control device will be furt er reduced by t e TriCool™ circuitry below 5V.
Side Panel 120 mm Fan Slot
T e side fan opening is t ere to en ance grap ics card cooling. Just snap a fan into t e bracket on t e
side panel so t at it blows air into t e case.
Middle 120 mm Fan Bracket
T e middle fan is designed to cool t e CPU, grap ics card or t e power supply, depending on w ic
drive bays you install t e HDD cage into. You can use t e middle fan on any drive cage you do NOT
install ard drives in. T is design is especially useful in cooling dual grap ics card implementations.
1. To remove t e black middle fan mount, press in on t e clips t at secure t e bay to its cage.
2. Place a 120 mm fan inside t e mount and press it into place so t at t e oles in t e fan are secured to
t e mount.
3. Use t e long screws provided to secure t e fan to t e mount. Do not overtig ten.
4. Run t e power (and control switc if using a TriCool™ fan) t roug t e cable guide t at runs along t e
side of t e fan mount.
5. Clip t e assembly onto t e back of an empty HDD cage.
6. Connect t e fan to t e power supply.

4.2 Washable Air Filters
Front Air Filters – T ere is a filter located be ind t e faceplate of eac HDD cage faceplates. T ere is a
total of t ree front air filters t at come wit t e case by default.
To clean t e filter:
1. Remove t e cage t umbscrews fastening t e HDD cage to t e 5.25” drive bays and set t em aside.
2. Slide t e HDD cage forward about 1 or 2 inc es. You will see t e air filter be ind t e faceplate.
Note: T ere s ould be no need to disconnect t e power or data connections from t e HDD or t e fan in
order to remove t e filters for cleaning. Just make sure t at you ave left about 2 inc es of slack in t e
cables.
3. Lift t e tab upwards to remove t e filter.
Side Air Filter – T ere is a filter located in t e side fan bracket. It is located on t e inside of t e side
panel, so you must open t e side panel to access it. Remove t e filter by sliding it out of t e bracket.
From time to time it will be necessary to was t e installed air filters. Not was ing t e air filter will
result in ig system temperatures and possible stability problems. We recommend c ecking t e air
filter at least once a mont initially. T e frequency will c ange depending on environmental conditions
and system usage. Users w o run t eir systems 24/7 will ave to c eck t eir filters more often t an
t ose w o don’t use it every day.
