38mm Fly-Away Rail Guide
Product Info:
Quantity: 1 Set
Weight: 13.9 grams
Part List:
13599 38mm Fly-Away Laser-Cut Sheet (1)
24001 Orthodontic Rubber Band (3)
656779 13600 8
The Fly-Away Rail Guide is used to eliminate
rail buttons on your rocket yet allow the rocket
to be launched from a rail launch pad. With
the guide, the rocket can y straighter and
higher. They work by capturing the rocket
while on the rail
and then release
as the rocket
leaves the pad.
Assembly and Use:
1. Carefully free the pieces from the laser-cut sheet using a hobby
knife.
2. Test t the parts rst; they are
a tight t to prevent wobbling. The
cross piece that is inserted into the
rectangular slot needs to be the
rst piece attached. Then attach the
other cross-brace into the notches
shown with the arrows. Take the
cradle apart and glue it back to-
gether using wood glue. Complete
the other identical cradle. Allow the
glue to dry and then paint cradles
a bright color so you can nd them
easily after a launch.
3. When ready for launch, place two cradles around the rocket as
shown. If the rocket has a
lot of paint, you may need
to sand the inside curved
edges of the cradles. The t
should be loose so they de-
tach easily but not sloppy.
4. Attach a rubber band
onto the hooks on each end
of the cradles.
5. Rotate the cradles
around the rocket so the
ngers are between any
two ns. Slide the cradle
rearward until it butts
against the leading edge
of the ns.
6. Insert the ngers of the
cradles into the launch
rail and slide the assem-
bly to the bottom of the
pad. Enjoy the launch, but remember
to collect the cradles from the
ground after they fall away.
