1 INTRODUCTION
This manual refers to the MAXIPLY dust collector and its shaker cleaning system. It includes
importantinformaonontheinstallaon,funconandmaintenanceofyourdustcollector.You
mustreadthismanualthoroughlyandapplyalldirecves.Youmustalsoinformthepersonnel
usingthedustcollectoraboutthesafetymeasuresandmaintenanceinstrucons.

3 PRESENTATION
TheMAXIPLYunitisanopentypedustcollectorwithanenvelopetypelter.Itismostlydesigned
forindustrialuse,educaonalorforapplicaonsrequiring5000CFMorless.
TheMAXIPLYunitisequippedwithamanualshakersystemwhichcleanstheenreltersurface
withouttheuseofcompressedairorelectricalmotor.
TheMAXIPLYunitmayhavebetween170to700sq.oflterdependingonthemodelselected.

TheMAXIPLYunitisshippedpartlyassembledandsomecomponentswillrequireeldassembly.
Thiswillallowthedustcollectortobeassembledinanareawheretheaccessdoorsarenarrow
wherefullyassembledunitwouldnottthroughthedoorwayframe.Theelectricalconneconof
thefanmotormustbeperformedbyaqualiedelectrician.
4 NORMAL USE AS PER NFPA 664
TheMAXIPLYunitisdesignedtolterharmfuldustsfromtheairresulngfromafabricaon
process.EachMAXIPLYdustcollectorisbuiltbasedontherequestandinformaonsuppliedbythe
customerforagivenapplicaonandshouldnotbeusedforanyotherapplicaonunlessapproved
byA.Q.C.,Inc.Thedustcollectorshouldbeusedatintervalsinorderforthelterenvelopetobe
cleanedattheendofeachcycleofuse.

5 OPERATION
Duringnormaluse,theMAXIPLYunitreceivesdustlledairfromtheblowertowardthecollector
inlet.Thesmallerparclesarepushedtowardthelterenvelopeandthelargerparclesfallinto
theduststoragecompartment.Thesmallerparclesarestoredintothelterenvelopeandclean
airisexhaustedthroughthefour(4)openedsidesoftheltercabinet.
  
Whenthecollectorisshutdown,theoperatormustwaitunlthemotorhasstoppedturning
completely.Thecleaningismadebyshakingbyhandthepocketsofthelterbag.
  

6 INSTALLATION
  
TheMAXIPLYunitisshippedonone(1)ormulpleskids.Proceedwithavisualinspeconupon
receivingthematerialforanydamagesormissingskid(s).Note:ifdamagesareapparentupon
receivingthematerial,indicatesoonreceivingslip(freightwaybill)andconrmbyhavingthe
truckdriversignthewaybillwithanydiscrepancy.A.Q.Ctakesphotosofmaterialpriortoshipping.
Generally,shipmentincludesaskidforthecollectorcabinetandanotheronefortheduststorage
system.Otheroponaldevicesareshippedonseparateskids.
  
 Theareachosentoinstallthecollectorshouldbeabletosupportitsweight,itsaccessories,
duststoragesystemandvenlaonducng.Theconstruconofasolidatsurfacesuchas
aconcretepadmaybeneeded.
 Posionthedustcollectorinawaytohaveaccesstotheblowerandlterenvelope.A12"
(0,3meter)workspaceisrequiredaroundthecollectorformaintenancepurposes.

Follow rules and regulaons regarding an open type dust collector installed within a facility.
Generally,suchcollectorshouldcomplywiththefollowingrequirementsisitistobeusedfor
collecngcombusbledusts:
 Mustnotbeconnectedtoaplanerorsanderwithmechanicalfeed.
 Mustbeinstalled20'(6meters)ormoreawayfromanyworkstaon,walkwayoremergency
exit.Ifneeded,aproperprotecvewallagainstblastsmustbeinstalled.
7 ASSEMBLY
  
Thefollowingtoolsandequipmentarerecommendedfortheassemblyofthedustcollector:
• Spannersand/orwrenches
• Powerdrill
• Concretedrillbits
• Concreteanchors
• Nuts,washersandbolts
• Selftappingcrews
• Siliconetubes
• Craneorforkli
• Swingjib
• Chains
• Shackles
• Eyebolts
• Taperedsteelpins
• Ratchet set

4. Install a ground wire to the unit.
5. Lift the filter cabinet using the lift lugs. Using spikes, position the cabinet
above the dust storage section making sure to align the cabinet bolt holes
with the dust storage bolt holes.
6. Lower the filter cabinet onto the dust storage section and align the bolt holes.
7. Attach the filter cabinet to the dust storage section using the supplied nuts,
washers and bolts. Tighten bolts for an adequate seal.

WARNING
Apply two strips of butyl adhesive on the dust storage section upper
outline. One strip should be applied inward of the bolt holes and one
strip outward of the bolt holes (Figure 4).

4. Install a ground wire to the unit.

 Referringtogure6,installtoppanels#5and6.Thepanelswithholesmustbefacingthe
dustcollectorinlet.
 Theboompartofthelterenvelopeisboltedtothelterframeseconofthehopper.
Thisistoensurethelterenvelopeisnotdamagedduringfreight.atthefactory.Theupper
partofthelterneedstobeaachedtothepartofthedustcollectorframe.Inordertodo
so,inserttherodsthroughtheltersleevesinboth#5panels.Tightenwiththefasteners
(supplied).Fortheinstallaonoftheoponalmanualshakersystem,refertotheinstallaon
seconofthisdevice(page10).

 Installtheduststoragebinbyinserngitintotheguidesunderneaththehopper.Oncethis
isdone,lithebinandclipitinplace.
 Lithefanassemblyinawaythatthemotorisfacingtowardtheoorandtheoutletof
thefanfacingtheinletofthecollector.Installthefansupportlegsatthebackofthefan
assembly.Alignthefanassemblywiththecollectorinlet.Fastenthefanoutletandcollector
inlettogetherwiththefastenerssupplied.
