1 INTRODUCTION
This manual refers to the MAXIPLY dust collector and its shaker cleaning system. It includes
importantinformaonontheinstallaon,funconandmaintenanceofyourdustcollector.You
mustreadthismanualthoroughlyandapplyalldirecves.Youmustalsoinformthepersonnel
usingthedustcollectoraboutthesafetymeasuresandmaintenanceinstrucons.

3 PRESENTATION
TheMAXIPLYunitisanopentypedustcollectorwithanenvelopetypelter.Itismostlydesigned
forindustrialuse,educaonalorforapplicaonsrequiring5000CFMorless.
TheMAXIPLYunitisequippedwithamanualshakersystemwhichcleanstheenreltersurface
withouttheuseofcompressedairorelectricalmotor.
TheMAXIPLYunitmayhavebetween170to700sq.oflterdependingonthemodelselected.

wherefullyassembledunitwouldnottthroughthedoorwayframe.Theelectricalconneconof
thefanmotormustbeperformedbyaqualiedelectrician.
4 NORMAL USE AS PER NFPA 664
TheMAXIPLYunitisdesignedtolterharmfuldustsfromtheairresulngfromafabricaon
process.EachMAXIPLYdustcollectorisbuiltbasedontherequestandinformaonsuppliedbythe
customerforagivenapplicaonandshouldnotbeusedforanyotherapplicaonunlessapproved
byA.Q.C.,Inc.Thedustcollectorshouldbeusedatintervalsinorderforthelterenvelopetobe
cleanedattheendofeachcycleofuse.

5 OPERATION
Duringnormaluse,theMAXIPLYunitreceivesdustlledairfromtheblowertowardthecollector
inlet.Thesmallerparclesarepushedtowardthelterenvelopeandthelargerparclesfallinto
theduststoragecompartment.Thesmallerparclesarestoredintothelterenvelopeandclean
airisexhaustedthroughthefour(4)openedsidesoftheltercabinet.
Whenthecollectorisshutdown,theoperatormustwaitunlthemotorhasstoppedturning
completely.Thecleaningismadebyshakingbyhandthepocketsofthelterbag.
Whenthecollectorisshutdown,theoperatormustwaitunlthemotorhasstoppedturning
completely.Thecleaningismadebyvigorouslyshakingthehandleonthesideoftheunit.
6 INSTALLATION
TheMAXIPLYunitisshippedonone(1)ormulpleskids.Proceedwithavisualinspeconupon
receivingthematerialforanydamagesormissingskid(s).Note:ifdamagesareapparentupon
receivingthematerial,indicatesoonreceivingslip(freightwaybill)andconrmbyhavingthe
truckdriversignthewaybillwithanydiscrepancy.A.Q.Ctakesphotosofmaterialpriortoshipping.
Generally,shipmentincludesaskidforthecollectorcabinetandanotheronefortheduststorage
system.Otheroponaldevicesareshippedonseparateskids.
Theareachosentoinstallthecollectorshouldbeabletosupportitsweight,itsaccessories,
duststoragesystemandvenlaonducng.Theconstruconofasolidatsurfacesuchas
aconcretepadmaybeneeded.
Posionthedustcollectorinawaytohaveaccesstotheblowerandlterenvelope.A12"
(0,3meter)workspaceisrequiredaroundthecollectorformaintenancepurposes.

Follow rules and regulaons regarding an open type dust collector installed within a facility.
Generally,suchcollectorshouldcomplywiththefollowingrequirementsisitistobeusedfor
collecngcombusbledusts:
Mustnotbeconnectedtoaplanerorsanderwithmechanicalfeed.
Mustbeinstalled20'(6meters)ormoreawayfromanyworkstaon,walkwayoremergency
exit.Ifneeded,aproperprotecvewallagainstblastsmustbeinstalled.
7 ASSEMBLY
Thefollowingtoolsandequipmentarerecommendedfortheassemblyofthedustcollector:

4. Install a ground wire to the unit.
5. Lift the filter cabinet using the lift lugs. Using spikes, position the cabinet
above the dust storage section making sure to align the cabinet bolt holes
with the dust storage bolt holes.
6. Lower the filter cabinet onto the dust storage section and align the bolt holes.
7. Attach the filter cabinet to the dust storage section using the supplied nuts,
washers and bolts. Tighten bolts for an adequate seal.

Apply two strips of butyl adhesive on the dust storage section upper
outline. One strip should be applied inward of the bolt holes and one
strip outward of the bolt holes (Figure 4).

4. Install a ground wire to the unit.

dustcollectorinlet.
Theboompartofthelterenvelopeisboltedtothelterframeseconofthehopper.
Thisistoensurethelterenvelopeisnotdamagedduringfreight.atthefactory.Theupper
partofthelterneedstobeaachedtothepartofthedustcollectorframe.Inordertodo
so,inserttherodsthroughtheltersleevesinboth#5panels.Tightenwiththefasteners
(supplied).Fortheinstallaonoftheoponalmanualshakersystem,refertotheinstallaon
seconofthisdevice(page10).

Installtheduststoragebinbyinserngitintotheguidesunderneaththehopper.Oncethis
isdone,lithebinandclipitinplace.
Lithefanassemblyinawaythatthemotorisfacingtowardtheoorandtheoutletof
thefanfacingtheinletofthecollector.Installthefansupportlegsatthebackofthefan
assembly.Alignthefanassemblywiththecollectorinlet.Fastenthefanoutletandcollector
inlettogetherwiththefastenerssupplied.

Installtheltershakerframebyliingitandbyinserngtheshakerhandlethroughthe
opening in the upper lter frame. Aach the lter frame to the upper panels with the
fasteners(supplied).

TheelectricalpanelmaybeinstalleddirectlyontheMaxiplyunitorremote.
Onceallelectricalconneconshavebeencompleted,switch"ON"themotorandcheckforproper
blowerwheelrotaon.
• Thedustcollectorshouldbeinstalledascloseaspossibletothemachinescreangthedust.
Thisistominimizethelengthoftheductwork.
• Ifpossible,donotinstallshortradiuselbowsorbends.
• Installtapsorbrancheshavinga30degreeslopeorless.
• Donotinstallstraight90degreetaps(T’s).
• Joinductworkandbranchesusingselftappingscrewsandsilicone.Preferredducngsystem
isclamp-ontypenotrequiringanyscrewscausingpossiblejamsanddustbuild-upatthe
screws.
Beforestarngthedustcollectorfortherstme,thestepslistedbelowshouldbefollowedto
ensurethecollectorwillworkproperly.
• Removeallobjectsinthevicinityofthecollectorinletandoutlet.
• Ensureallaccessoriesandoponalequipmentaresecuredandinstalledcorrectly.
• Checkiftheupperlterframeiswellinplaceandfastenedcorrectly.

Theelectricalconneconmustbeperformedbyacered
electricianandbyapplyinglocalbuildingrulesand
regulaons.Forsafetymeasure,disconnectallelectrical
powerpriortoinstallaon.

• Checkifallelectricalconneconsarewaterghtandproperelectricalcurrentisavailable.
• Checkifallremotecontrols(ifsupplied)areconnectedtothecontrolpanelandallswitches
areatthe"OFF"posion.
• Supplypowertothecollector.
• Startthefanandshutit"OFF"immediately.Checkmotorrotaon.
9 START/STOP PROCEDURE
Shutinletandoutletdampers(ifinstalled)atabout50%beforestarngtheunit.Allowafewhours
fordusttopenetratethelterenvelopebeforestarngtheshakersystem.Thiswillresultina
beerltraoneciencyandlongerlterenvelopelifeme.
Startthecollectorandallowdusttoentertheunit.
Shutdownpowertothecollectorandcloseallinletandoutletdamperssothatdustdoesnotow
backintotheunit.Youmaynowaccessthecollectorforinspecon,drumchangeordrumempty
outand/orlterenvelopereplacement.
10 SAFETY MEASURES
Anymaintenanceonthecollectorshouldbeaccomplishedbyaminimumoftwo(2)workers.When
nished,retrievealltoolsinsidethecollector.
All maintenance sta should wear protecve clothing or apparatus such as goggles, gloves,
breathingequipmentorsuchdevicesbeforeworkinginsidethecollector.
WARNING!
Neverperformmaintenancetasksbyanunaccompanied
worker.Allpersonnelmustbeaccountedforbefore
restarngthecollector.

Toavoidinjuries,allelectricalcomponentsmustbeshutopriortoinspeconorservicingtheunit.
Thisprocedureincludesgengaccesstotheltersecon.
Allseconsofthecollectorshouldbermlyanchoredtotheoorinordertopreventppingof
theunitshouldanexplosionoccurorbyaccidentlyhingtheunitwithmovingequipmentsuch
aslitrucks.
Thisdustcollectorisdesignedforwooddustonly.
11 MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Refertothesafetymeasuresseconbeforeproceedingwith
theinspeconormaintenanceofthedustcollector.
A scheduled prevenve maintenance program will reduce downme situaons and increase
lifemeoftheunit.Chartsshowninthischapterrefertomaintenanceandproceduresrelated
insolvingmalfuncon.Timersanddelaysmaybemodiedwithconclusiveexperimenngofthe
systemonaparcularapplicaon.
Thelifemeofthelterenvelopeisdirectlylinkedtoitsresistancetothedustlteredanddoesnot
necessarilyrequirearegularlterreplacement.However,ifthelterenvelopeistornorpunctured,
itneedstobereplacedassoonaspossible.

1. Unfastentheaachmentbarsattheboomofthelterenvelopelocatedonallfour(4)sides
ofthecollector.
2. Removetheupperlterenvelopesupportrods(rubberbandsforoponalmanualshaker
system)
Removethelterenvelopefromthelowerframe.
Posionthenewlterenvelopeontheframeandreinsertthesupportrods.Ensurethe
fastenersareghtenedandthelterenvelopeiswellinplace.
Reinstalltheaachmentbarsorrubberbandsfortheoponalmanualshakersystem.
12 MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
Thechartindicatedbelowshowsdierentinspeconsandthefrequencyatwhichtheyshouldbe
performed.

14 WARRANTY
14.1 Coverage: AireauQualityControlInc.oritsdesignatedaliate(the"Seller")sellingtheproduct
(the"Product"),warrantsthattheProductsoldbySellerwillbefreefromdefectsinmaterialand
workmanshipforaperiodof12monthsfromthedateofitsinstallaonor14monthsfromthe
dateofshipmentbySeller,whicheverdateisearlier(the"WarrantyPeriod").
14.2 Excepons: ThiswarrantydoesnotapplytoanyProductorporonthereofthat:(i)hasbeenused
inamannernotincompliancewithSeller’sormanufacturer’sdocumentaonandinstrucons,(ii)
hashadchanges,alteraonsorrepairsmadebyapersonotherthanapersonauthorizedbySeller,
(iii)hasbeenimproperlyinstalledorusedorhasbeeninstalledorusedcontrarytoapplicable
codes,standards,lawsandregulaons,(iv)hasbeensubjectedtoimproperstorage,accident,
neglect,misuseorabuse,(v)hasbeendamagedduringshipping,(vi)hasbeensubjecttodamages
resulngfromnormalwearandtear,(vii)hasnotbeenusedwithappropriatereprotecon
systemsorexplosionvenngwhenrequiredor(viii)hasnotbeeninstalledbyalicensedcontractor
withexperienceinreandexplosionhazardsandapplicablecodes,lawsandregulaons.For
greatercertainty,thiswarrantydoesnotapplytolterssoldaspartof,orforusewith,theProduct.
UnlessspecicallyacceptedotherwiseinwringbySeller,Sellerdoesnotwarrantthatelectrical
equipmentwillcomplywithanylawsorregulaonsofthecustomer’sjurisdicon.
14.3 Claims: Tobenetfromthiswarranty,customermustnofySellerinwringoftheProductdefect,
whichnoceshallincludeareasonabledescriponofthedefect,within10daysfromthedatesuch
defectisdiscoveredoroughttohavebeendiscovered.
14.4 Remedy: DuringtheWarrantyPeriodandsubjecttothetermsherein,Sellerwill,atitsopon,
either:(i)repairorreplacetheProductoranydefecvepartsorcomponents(exceptforlters)
withProduct,partsorcomponents(exceptlters)freefromdefector(ii)creditorrefundthe
purchasepriceoftheProduct.IfSellersorequests,customermustreturnthedefecveProductto
Seller’splaceofbusinessdeterminedbySeller.Shipping,installaon,removalandre-installaon
costswillbesolelybornebythecustomer.

andregulaonsiscrical.Priortoinstallaonanduse,customershallensurethattheProductmeets
theapplicablecodes,lawsandregulaons,includingthoserelatedtotheaddionofappropriate
reproteconsystemsorexplosionvenng.Installaonshallbeperformedbyalicensedcontractor
withexperienceinreandexplosionandapplicablecodes,lawsandregulaons.
16 APPLICABILITY
16.1 ThetermshereinconstutetheonlywarrantygivenbySellerwithrespecttotheProduct.No
othertermsandcondions,whetherincludedonapurchaseorderorinanyotherdocument,shall
