1 INTRODUCTION
This manual refers to the MAXIPLY dust collector and its shaker cleaning system. It includes
importantinformaonontheinstallaon,funconandmaintenanceofyourdustcollector.You
mustreadthismanualthoroughlyandapplyalldirecves.Youmustalsoinformthepersonnel
usingthedustcollectoraboutthesafetymeasuresandmaintenanceinstrucons.

3 PRESENTATION
TheMAXIPLYunitisanopentypedustcollectorwithanenvelopetypelter.Itismostlydesigned
forindustrialuse,educaonalorforapplicaonsrequiring5000CFMorless.
TheMAXIPLYunitisequippedwithamanualshakersystemwhichcleanstheenreltersurface
withouttheuseofcompressedairorelectricalmotor.
TheMAXIPLYunitmayhavebetween170to700sq.oflterdependingonthemodelselected.

4 NORMAL USE AS PER NFPA 664
TheMAXIPLYunitisdesignedtolterharmfuldustsfromtheairresulngfromafabricaon
process.EachMAXIPLYdustcollectorisbuiltbasedontherequestandinformaonsuppliedbythe
customerforagivenapplicaonandshouldnotbeusedforanyotherapplicaonunlessapproved
byA.Q.C.,Inc.Thedustcollectorshouldbeusedatintervalsinorderforthelterenvelopetobe
cleanedattheendofeachcycleofuse.

5 OPERATION
Duringnormaluse,theMAXIPLYunitreceivesdustlledairfromtheblowertowardthecollector
inlet.Thesmallerparclesarepushedtowardthelterenvelopeandthelargerparclesfallinto
theduststoragecompartment.Thesmallerparclesarestoredintothelterenvelopeandclean
airisexhaustedthroughthefour(4)openedsidesoftheltercabinet.
  
Whenthecollectorisshutdown,theoperatormustwaitunlthemotorhasstoppedturning
completely.Thecleaningismadebyshakingbyhandthepocketsofthelterbag.
  
Whenthecollectorisshutdown,theoperatormustwaitunlthemotorhasstoppedturning
completely.Thecleaningismadebyvigorouslyshakingthehandleonthesideoftheunit.
6 INSTALLATION
  
TheMAXIPLYunitisshippedonone(1)ormulpleskids.Proceedwithavisualinspeconupon
receivingthematerialforanydamagesormissingskid(s).Note:ifdamagesareapparentupon
receivingthematerial,indicatesoonreceivingslip(freightwaybill)andconrmbyhavingthe
truckdriversignthewaybillwithanydiscrepancy.A.Q.Ctakesphotosofmaterialpriortoshipping.
Generally,shipmentincludesaskidforthecollectorcabinetandanotheronefortheduststorage
system.Otheroponaldevicesareshippedonseparateskids.
  
 Theareachosentoinstallthecollectorshouldbeabletosupportitsweight,itsaccessories,
duststoragesystemandvenlaonducng.Theconstruconofasolidatsurfacesuchas
aconcretepadmaybeneeded.
 Posionthedustcollectorinawaytohaveaccesstotheblowerandlterenvelope.A12"
(0,3meter)workspaceisrequiredaroundthecollectorformaintenancepurposes.

Follow rules and regulaons regarding an open type dust collector installed within a facility.
Generally,suchcollectorshouldcomplywiththefollowingrequirementsisitistobeusedfor
collecngcombusbledusts:
 Mustnotbeconnectedtoaplanerorsanderwithmechanicalfeed.
 Mustbeinstalled20'(6meters)ormoreawayfromanyworkstaon,walkwayoremergency
exit.Ifneeded,aproperprotecvewallagainstblastsmustbeinstalled.
7 ASSEMBLY
  

4. Install a ground wire to the unit.
5. Lift the filter cabinet using the lift lugs. Using spikes, position the cabinet
above the dust storage section making sure to align the cabinet bolt holes
with the dust storage bolt holes.
6. Lower the filter cabinet onto the dust storage section and align the bolt holes.
7. Attach the filter cabinet to the dust storage section using the supplied nuts,
washers and bolts. Tighten bolts for an adequate seal.

Apply two strips of butyl adhesive on the dust storage section upper
outline. One strip should be applied inward of the bolt holes and one
strip outward of the bolt holes (Figure 4).

4. Install a ground wire to the unit.

 Theboompartofthelterenvelopeisboltedtothelterframeseconofthehopper.
Thisistoensurethelterenvelopeisnotdamagedduringfreight.atthefactory.Theupper
partofthelterneedstobeaachedtothepartofthedustcollectorframe.Inordertodo
so,inserttherodsthroughtheltersleevesinboth#5panels.Tightenwiththefasteners
(supplied).Fortheinstallaonoftheoponalmanualshakersystem,refertotheinstallaon
seconofthisdevice(page10).

 Installtheduststoragebinbyinserngitintotheguidesunderneaththehopper.Oncethis
isdone,lithebinandclipitinplace.
 Lithefanassemblyinawaythatthemotorisfacingtowardtheoorandtheoutletof
thefanfacingtheinletofthecollector.Installthefansupportlegsatthebackofthefan
assembly.Alignthefanassemblywiththecollectorinlet.Fastenthefanoutletandcollector
inlettogetherwiththefastenerssupplied.

TheelectricalpanelmaybeinstalleddirectlyontheMaxiplyunitorremote.
Onceallelectricalconneconshavebeencompleted,switch"ON"themotorandcheckforproper
blowerwheelrotaon.
  
• Thedustcollectorshouldbeinstalledascloseaspossibletothemachinescreangthedust.
Thisistominimizethelengthoftheductwork.
• Ifpossible,donotinstallshortradiuselbowsorbends.
• Installtapsorbrancheshavinga30degreeslopeorless.
• Donotinstallstraight90degreetaps(T’s).
• Joinductworkandbranchesusingselftappingscrewsandsilicone.Preferredducngsystem
isclamp-ontypenotrequiringanyscrewscausingpossiblejamsanddustbuild-upatthe
screws.
  
  
Beforestarngthedustcollectorfortherstme,thestepslistedbelowshouldbefollowedto
ensurethecollectorwillworkproperly.
• Removeallobjectsinthevicinityofthecollectorinletandoutlet.
• Ensureallaccessoriesandoponalequipmentaresecuredandinstalledcorrectly.
  
• Checkiftheupperlterframeiswellinplaceandfastenedcorrectly.
  

• Checkifallelectricalconneconsarewaterghtandproperelectricalcurrentisavailable.
• Checkifallremotecontrols(ifsupplied)areconnectedtothecontrolpanelandallswitches
areatthe"OFF"posion.
• Supplypowertothecollector.
• Startthefanandshutit"OFF"immediately.Checkmotorrotaon.
9 START/STOP PROCEDURE
  
Shutinletandoutletdampers(ifinstalled)atabout50%beforestarngtheunit.Allowafewhours
fordusttopenetratethelterenvelopebeforestarngtheshakersystem.Thiswillresultina
beerltraoneciencyandlongerlterenvelopelifeme.
  
Startthecollectorandallowdusttoentertheunit.
  
Shutdownpowertothecollectorandcloseallinletandoutletdamperssothatdustdoesnotow
backintotheunit.Youmaynowaccessthecollectorforinspecon,drumchangeordrumempty
outand/orlterenvelopereplacement.
10 SAFETY MEASURES
  
Anymaintenanceonthecollectorshouldbeaccomplishedbyaminimumoftwo(2)workers.When
nished,retrievealltoolsinsidethecollector.
All maintenance sta should wear protecve clothing or apparatus such as goggles, gloves,
breathingequipmentorsuchdevicesbeforeworkinginsidethecollector.
WARNING!
Neverperformmaintenancetasksbyanunaccompanied
worker.Allpersonnelmustbeaccountedforbefore
restarngthecollector.

Toavoidinjuries,allelectricalcomponentsmustbeshutopriortoinspeconorservicingtheunit.
Thisprocedureincludesgengaccesstotheltersecon.
  
Allseconsofthecollectorshouldbermlyanchoredtotheoorinordertopreventppingof
theunitshouldanexplosionoccurorbyaccidentlyhingtheunitwithmovingequipmentsuch
aslitrucks.
  
Thisdustcollectorisdesignedforwooddustonly.
11 MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Refertothesafetymeasuresseconbeforeproceedingwith
theinspeconormaintenanceofthedustcollector.
A scheduled prevenve maintenance program will reduce downme situaons and increase
lifemeoftheunit.Chartsshowninthischapterrefertomaintenanceandproceduresrelated
insolvingmalfuncon.Timersanddelaysmaybemodiedwithconclusiveexperimenngofthe
systemonaparcularapplicaon.
  
Thelifemeofthelterenvelopeisdirectlylinkedtoitsresistancetothedustlteredanddoesnot
necessarilyrequirearegularlterreplacement.However,ifthelterenvelopeistornorpunctured,
itneedstobereplacedassoonaspossible.

1. Unfastentheaachmentbarsattheboomofthelterenvelopelocatedonallfour(4)sides
ofthecollector.
2. Removetheupperlterenvelopesupportrods(rubberbandsforoponalmanualshaker
system)
 Removethelterenvelopefromthelowerframe.
 Posionthenewlterenvelopeontheframeandreinsertthesupportrods.Ensurethe
fastenersareghtenedandthelterenvelopeiswellinplace.
 Reinstalltheaachmentbarsorrubberbandsfortheoponalmanualshakersystem.
12 MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
Thechartindicatedbelowshowsdierentinspeconsandthefrequencyatwhichtheyshouldbe
performed.


14 WARRANTY
14.1 Coverage: AireauQualityControlInc.oritsdesignatedaliate(the"Seller")sellingtheproduct
(the"Product"),warrantsthattheProductsoldbySellerwillbefreefromdefectsinmaterialand
workmanshipforaperiodof12monthsfromthedateofitsinstallaonor14monthsfromthe
dateofshipmentbySeller,whicheverdateisearlier(the"WarrantyPeriod").
14.2 Excepons: ThiswarrantydoesnotapplytoanyProductorporonthereofthat:(i)hasbeenused
inamannernotincompliancewithSeller’sormanufacturer’sdocumentaonandinstrucons,(ii)
hashadchanges,alteraonsorrepairsmadebyapersonotherthanapersonauthorizedbySeller,
(iii)hasbeenimproperlyinstalledorusedorhasbeeninstalledorusedcontrarytoapplicable
codes,standards,lawsandregulaons,(iv)hasbeensubjectedtoimproperstorage,accident,
neglect,misuseorabuse,(v)hasbeendamagedduringshipping,(vi)hasbeensubjecttodamages
resulngfromnormalwearandtear,(vii)hasnotbeenusedwithappropriatereprotecon
systemsorexplosionvenngwhenrequiredor(viii)hasnotbeeninstalledbyalicensedcontractor
withexperienceinreandexplosionhazardsandapplicablecodes,lawsandregulaons.For
greatercertainty,thiswarrantydoesnotapplytolterssoldaspartof,orforusewith,theProduct.
UnlessspecicallyacceptedotherwiseinwringbySeller,Sellerdoesnotwarrantthatelectrical
equipmentwillcomplywithanylawsorregulaonsofthecustomer’sjurisdicon.
14.3 Claims: Tobenetfromthiswarranty,customermustnofySellerinwringoftheProductdefect,
whichnoceshallincludeareasonabledescriponofthedefect,within10daysfromthedatesuch
defectisdiscoveredoroughttohavebeendiscovered.
14.4 Remedy: DuringtheWarrantyPeriodandsubjecttothetermsherein,Sellerwill,atitsopon,
either:(i)repairorreplacetheProductoranydefecvepartsorcomponents(exceptforlters)
withProduct,partsorcomponents(exceptlters)freefromdefector(ii)creditorrefundthe
purchasepriceoftheProduct.IfSellersorequests,customermustreturnthedefecveProductto
Seller’splaceofbusinessdeterminedbySeller.Shipping,installaon,removalandre-installaon
costswillbesolelybornebythecustomer.



16 APPLICABILITY
 16.1 ThetermshereinconstutetheonlywarrantygivenbySellerwithrespecttotheProduct.No
othertermsandcondions,whetherincludedonapurchaseorderorinanyotherdocument,shall
applyorbindtheSellerwithrespecttotheProductwarrantyandallsuchtermsandcondionsand
documentsareexpresslydisclaimed.
17 GOVERNING LAW
 17.1 ThesewarrantytermswillbegovernedbyandconstruedunderthelawsinforceintheProvince
ofOntario,Canada,excludingitsconictoflawrules.
