PARA SWIMMER VEST

• Before using the Para Swimmer Vest you must read the
instruction sheet completely.
• Before using, inspect the entire vest for leakage or other
damage. If any part of the vest does not function properly, or
it is damaged, remove the Para Swimmer Vest from service
until repaired.
• Do not inhale from the Para Swimmer Vest oral inator. The
vest may contain contaminants from a previous CO2 ring
or other source.
• The Para Swimmer Vest is not approved for use in SCUBA Diving.
1. Place the Para Swimmer Vest over your head. Route both straps underneath
your arms, through the D-rings and then tighten straps. (See Fig. 1).
2. Fully inate the Para Swimmer Vest by loosening the knurl nut on the oral
ination tube and depress the oral inator valve. Exhale into the valve
until the vest is full (See Fig. 2). If the t is too tight, adjust the straps for
comfort.

WARRANTY
Aqua Lung America Inc. warrants this product to be free from defects in material and
workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original purchase. Aqua Lung
will repair or replace products that prove to be defective under normal conditions
and proper use.

WARNING: DO NOT use aerosol silicone sprays or cleaners to
lubricate the components, the propellants or carrier solvent
cause cracking or crazing.
a. To fresh water rinse the vest unscrew the OPRV, directly ll the vest
with water and re-thread the OPRV to the vest.
b. Swish the water around to remove any mineral deposits, invert the vest
so the OPRV is the lowest point and drain the water by pulling the knob
and cord assembly. Taste the last remaining drops of water for salt. If
salt is detected, repeat the cleaning procedure for the internal bladder.
6. To dry the vest after cleaning, inate the vest until it is half full, this will allow
the inner bladder to dry. DO NOT dry the vest in direct sunlight. Store the
half full, inated vest in a cool, dry and clean area.
7. Check the vest 30 minutes later for any leakage. If any leakage or holes are
detected, repair the vest utilizing the Aqua Lung Repair Kit pn 42611.
5. Inate the vest with air, turn it to an inverted position and drain any water out
through the over pressure relief valve (OPRV) by pulling down on the knob
and cord assembly. If water drains from inside the vest, a fresh water rinse
should be done as follows.

PRE-OP CHECK OUT
Prior to each use, the vest should be given a thorough visual inspection
and function test.
1. Fully inate the vest and set aside for 30 minutes; loss of rmness indicates
leakage, which must be corrected before use.
2. Ensure that all stitched together components are not separating.
3. Check that the oral ination tube and valve properly functions by depressing
the valve and blowing into the tube. Ensure the knurl nut on the oral ination
tube turns freely.
4. Remove the CO2 cartridges and inspect both actuators. Ensure both ac-
tuators operate correctly by pulling the knob to operate the actuating lever
and checking that the piercing pin travels up and down. Return the actuat-
ing lever to the ring position prior to re-threading the CO2 cartridge into
the actuator.

5. Perform a function check on the over pres-
sure relief valve (OPRV) by fully inating the
vest and then squeezing the vest to ensure
the OPRV opens allowing air to escape.
Next, pull the knob and cord assembly to
ensure the dump valve is correctly working
by allowing air to escape (See Fig. 3).
POST-OP MAINTENANCE
Proper maintenance will provide for years of reliable service. The Para
Swimmer Vest should be stored away from direct sunlight.
1. After each use, soak the exterior of the
vest with fresh water.
2. Detach HABD/SEA pocket (optional)
and fresh water rinse all components
(See Fig. 7).

4. Unscrew both CO2 cartridges from the
actuators and fresh water rinse all
components.
NOTE: The over pressure relief valve (OPRV) will actuate when the
pressure inside the vest exceeds 1 - 2 PSI (0.07 - 0.24 BAR) greater
than external pressure.
NOTE: Ensure the actuator is free of debris and the CO2cartridge
washer is in place prior to re-installing the CO2cartridge.
1. Ensure vest is clean and dry. Lay at and
deate the vest.
2. Fold lower edge up until the bottom edge
of the bottle wrap is visible underneath.
(See Fig. 4).

3. Fold each side in and overlap them until
CO2cartridges are visible on each side.
(See Fig. 5).
4. Secure the bottle wrap around the vest by
laying the left ap over the right ap and
securing the hook and loop tape together
tightly (See Fig. 6).

NOTE: Use of the optional HABD
pocket is possible only if the PSV is
not folded.
FOLDING THE VEST
Prior to each use, the vest should be placed in its proper conguration.
3. Open storage pocket and fresh water rinse.
Ensure the hook and loop fabric is clean
from all debris (See Fig. 8).
