SAFETY NOTES
GENERAL
Please read this Getting Started Guide carefully before using the
RTF7000 GPON Mini-ONT. Do not use this device for any other
purpose, as doing so may be dangerous.
PLACEMENT
The RTF7000 GPON Mini-ONT and all its components (including
cables and power adaptor) should be placed in a dry, indoor area,
at elevated heights such as on top of shelves, cabinets, etc. It
should be kept away from any wet or damp environments; such as
kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms or any other areas with
exposure to moisture, sprays, drips, or running water. For the
safety of stored data, it should not be placed near magnetic
devices such as audio or video tapes, diskettes or credit cards.
DISPOSAL & RECYCLING
To facilitate disposal and/or recycling, please respect the sorting
rules of your country or region for this kind of device. European
regulations require the disposal of this device at sales points or at
designated collection points such as drop-off centers, etc.
LASER SAFETY
Observe the following instructions when you perform installation,
operations, and maintenance tasks on the ONT equipment.
Danger —There may be invisible laser radiation at the fiber optic
cable when the cable is removed from the connector. Avoid
direct exposure to the laser beam. Eyes can be damaged when
they are exposed to a laser beam. Take necessary precautions
before you plug in the optical modules.

WELCOME
ASKEY® , an industry leader in networking, introduces RTF7000
which is a single LAN port GPON ONT offering a bandwidth of
up to 1 G bps.
The RTF7000 supports optical network termination
management and control interface (OMCI), which helps the
service provider to provision services remotely.

STATUS INDICATOR
Status indicators only become visible when the RTF7000
GPON Mini-ONT is powered and the appropriate feature is
operational.
POWER STATUS (Power status of the product)
Off: ONT is switched-off.
Green Steady on: ONT is switched-on.
ALARM
Detect problems in the power levels of the optical signal
received by the ONT
Off: Optical power >-27dBm
Red Steady ON: Optical B+: Optical power <-27dBm
CONNECTION
Identify the different synchronization and activation phases
of an ONT
Off: ONT is not synchronized with the PON
Green Blinking: ONT is synchronizing with the PON and it is
in the activation phase
Green Steady On: ONT has reached its Operational State
during the activation phase, remaining in this state as long
as the ONT is working
ETH (Show the status of the Ethernet port)
Off: Link is down
Green Steady On: Link is up but no traffic detected
Green Blinking: Link is up and Rx/Tx traffic is detected

QUICK SETUP
Step 1: Connect Fiber cable to GPON port of Mini-ONT
Step 2: Connect Ethernet cable (RJ-45) to GE port of Mini-ONT
Step 3: Connect power adapter to Mini-ONT and AC power
jack
Step 4: Turn on power switch, and check:
A. POWER LED should be steady ON (Green).If not, please
check the power cable is connected properly.
B. CONNECTION LED should be steady ON. If not, please
check the fiber cable is connected properly. If problem still
exists, please contact with local dealer.
C. ETH LED should be steady ON when Ethernet cable is
connected properly or blinking when RX/TX traffic is detected.
D. Check ALARM LED is OFF. If ALARM LED is ON, please
check fiber cable is connected properly. If the alarm still
existed, please contact with local agent.
Step 5: Wall mounting or free standing
Danger —Fiber cables transmit invisible laser light. To avoid eye
damage or blindness, never look directly into fibers, connectors, or
adapters.
Warning —Be careful to maintain a bend radius of no less than 1.5 in.
(3.8 cm) when connecting the fiber optic cable. Too small of a bend
radius in the cable can result in damage to the optic fiber.

The RTF7000 GPON Mini-ONT can be either free standing on a
flat sturdy surface or wall mounted.
To wall mount the RTF7000 GPON Mini-ONT, fix the wall
screws to the wall as shown in the below illustration Use the
stand’s screw holes as guidelines to drill 2 fixing points. Insert
the wall anchors if necessary for your wall type.
Attach the RTF7000 GPON Mini-ONT (with cables already
connected) to the screws.
