You can install the Desksets on a desktop or mount them on the wall.
• Desktop setup requires the Deskset stand, which provides two
positions: 45° and 60°. If wall-mounting or using the stand at 60°,
slide out, rotate, and replace the handset tab. The rotated tab
provides a hook to secure the handset.
• When wall-mounting the Deskset, connect the LAN cable and power
adapter first. Do not connect the LAN cable to the LAN switch yet.
• Connect the handset cord. Insert the coiled end into the Deskset
handset port (located on the side of the unit) and insert the longer
straight section into the handset.
• If not using PoE, plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet not
controlled by a wall switch and the DC plug end into the Deskset
DC 5.1V port.
Connect a CAT 5 LAN cable from your LAN switch to the Network port
on the back of the Deskset.
You can also connect a PC to the PC port on the Deskset so that the
Deskset and PC share the same network connection.
It is not recomended to use the PC port for a computer required to run
network-intensive applications such as CAD, graphics, etc.

When the Gateway finds the network and
another Syn248 device, the display changes from
“Synchronizing” to “Synchronized.” The red LINE
LEDs should turn off for each line you connected
in Step 3. This indicates that the lines have
calibrated to the Gateway. You can now make calls on those lines.
If your telephone service provider changes your line configuration
or you need to change Gateway LINE port assignments, you must
recalibrate the affected lines. To recalibrate, disconnect the affected
lines from the Gateway for 15 to 30 seconds, then reconnect them. The
LINE LED will flash for approximately 15 seconds, then turn off.
After synchronizing with the Gateway, the first Deskset connected to
the LAN displays “EXT 200” on its screen.
Connect the remaining Desksets to the LAN switch. Each Deskset will
be assigned an extension number in sequence: 201, 202, and so on. You
can change extension numbers and assign user names later.
SB35025 and SB35031 Desksets are also compatible with AT&T DECT
Cordless Headsets. After connecting all the Desksets, you can install
and register Cordless Headsets. Up to five Desksets can each have a
Cordless Headset, although this number can increase depending on your
office environment.
If your system includes a SB35025 Deskset, you can connect a Music
on Hold source and/or an overhead paging system using the supplied
audio in/out cable. This will provide Music on Hold and overhead paging
capability for the entire Syn248 system.
NOTE: To enable Music on Hold and overhead paging, you must
configure the system using the Syn248 WebUI. You can access the
WebUI using a computer connected to the Syn248 network. Any
computer connected to a Deskset PC port can access the WebUI.
