A.Introduction
Thankyoufor choosingthe D1812PK. The main features includea
8" Wide Screen (16:9 Aspect Ratio) LiquidCrystalDisplay(LCD)
monitor, a DVD player and a game controller with 30 built-in games.
Theunitapplies the latest stateof the artelectronics andisde-
signed forusein hotels, offices, vehicles or yourhome. Theunit is
constructedto provide years of reliable, trouble-free service, and is
compact so that you can take it with you anywhere and is designed
forquick andeasyinstallation. Pleaseread theentireinstruction
manualsuppliedwith this product priortouse.Thedocumentation
willassistyouin installingthe system properly to obtain the bestequip-
mentperformance. Please save this manual for later use.
B. Cautions and Warnings
1. Placement
Toprevent fireorelectric shock,donotexpose this appliance to
rain or moisture.Donot place the set on an unstable cart, stand,
tripod, bracket ortable toprevent it fromfalling. Keeptheunit away
from strongmagnets,heatsources,directsunlight, excessive dust.
Ifthe unit is brought directlyfrom a cold to a warm location, mois-
ture maycondense inside the unit. When you move it from a cold
toa warm location, wait forabout one hourbefore operating the
unit, or removethe discandleave theunitturnedonuntilthemois-
ture evaporates.
2. Installation
Ensurethatthe D1812PK is installedinaccordancewith the in-
structions andillustrations provided inthis manual.
3. Caution
Donotpushobjectsof anykindintothe unitthroughopenings;do
notspill or sprayliquid ofany kind on orin the system (this may
result in a fireor electricshock). Donot place anything heavyon
the unit. To ensure proper ventilation and proper operation, never
coverorblocktheslotsandopenings withaclothorothermaterial.

Keep theunit away froman openflame such as,.fire,candle etc,. It
ishazardoustoreplacethe battery incorrectly.Replacethebattery
onlywiththe sameorequivalent type.In orderto protect the
enviromnent pleasedisposeofthebattery properly.Donotusethe
unit intemperatureshigherthan 104degreesFahrenheit or40 de-
grees Celsius.
4.Disassemble
Do not attempt to disassemble the cabinet. There is ariskofelec-
tricshock and/orexposure to LaserRadiation. Contact qualified
service personnel ifyour system needs repair.
5.Cleaning Unit
Whencleaning,makesurethesystem isunplugged fromthepower
source. Donotuseliquid cleaners or aerosolcleaners. Usea cloth
lightly dampenedwith waterfor cleaningtheexterior ofthe system
only.
6. Disc
Do not use irregularlyshaped discs such asheart orstar-shaped
discs as theymay cause the unittomalfunction.Donotstickpaper,
tapeor glue on the disc. Do not expose thedisc to direct sunlight
or heat sources. Do not touchthe surface ofdisc. Handle thedisc
by itsedge. Cleanthedisc bywipingthedisc from the center out
with acleaning cloth. Removethe disc from the unit and store it in
its case after playing. Some playbackoperationsofdiscs maybe
intentionally fixed bysoftwareproducers. Since this unitplays discs
according to the disc contentsthesoftwareproducers designed,
some playbackfeatures maynot be available. Also refer to the in-
structionssuppliedwiththediscs.
7.Regional Coding
Both theDVDplayer and disc are coded by region. These
regional codes must match inorder for thedisc toplay.Ifthe
codesdon’t match, the disc won’t play. This unit’s code is region
1. DVD’swith other regionalcodes cannot beplayed in this unit.

D. Powering and installation
1. Powering the system indoors (Refer to Figure 1)
Plugone end ofthe AC to DC adapter into the DC 9V jackon the
left side ofthemain unit, then plug the otherendinto the120VAC
power outlet.
2. Powering the system in a car (refer to Figure 1)
Plug oneend ofthe DC Poweradapterinto the DC 9V jack on the
unit, thenplugtheother end into the vehiclepower outlet.

E. Vehicle Installation
Make surethatthe unit isplaced into the bag withtheclearplastic
coveringontheright sideof theunit. Loadthediscinto the DVD
compartmentandthenadjust the retainingcordacross the topportion
ofthe unit. If youare installing the bag onto the seatback you may
need to use the Seat Standoff attached to the backofthe mounting
bag to obtain the proper viewingangleasshown inFigure 2

(Refer to Figure 2)

1).Take oneof thesuppliedstraps from the carrier bag. Connect
thelatchtoone oftheuppermetal rings on the mountingbag.
Connectthe S”hookto theother upper metalringandplacethe
loopoverthe headrest. Adjust thestrapuntil thebag isfirmly
secured.
2).Take anotherstrapfrom thecarrierbag, andconnectthelatchto
the lower metalring on the left side of the bag. Attach the S”
hook to the same ring afterlooping thestrap aroundtheseat rail.
Repeat thisprocessfor the right side.Insome vehicles, it may
be necessary to attach the S”connector to the rail directly,as it
may not be longenough to reach back to the ring.
3).Adjust the straps tightlyso that the bagis secured.

2. Installing the system between the driver/passenger seat
(Refer to Figure 3)

1).Take onestrap andconnectthelatch to theupper metal ringon
the leftside of the bag. Attach the S”hook tothe samering
after looping thestrap aroundthe headrest of thedriver’sseat.
Repeat thisprocess for the right side(Passenger Seat).
2).Takeanother strap and connect thelatchto lower metal ringon
the leftside of the bag. Attach the S”hook tothe samering
after loopingthe strap around thedriver’sseat rail. Repeat this
processfor therightside. Insome vehicles,it maybeneces-
sary to attachthe S”connector directly totherail, as itmaynot
be long enoughto reach backto thering.
3).Adjust the straps tightlyso that the bagis secured.

G. Loading and Playing a Disc
a.After connecting power to the unit, turn on the DVD player”with
the power switch. The power indicator will light.
b.Open the disctraybyslidingthe OPEN buttonin thedirection of
thearrowand placea disc intothe tray with the label sidefacing
up.
c.Close the traybypressingthe area marked PRESS”on the disc
door. The unit willread the discand start playing.
d.Rotate theBRIGHTNESSandVOLUMEcontrolsto adjust the
brightness and the volume to the desired levels.
e.Tostopplayingadisc, pressSTOP.
