A.Introduction
Thank youfor choosingtheD8000IPportableDVDplayer. The main
features include a8" Screen (16:9Aspect Ratio) LiquidCrystal Dis-
play (LCD) monitorandaDVDplayer with a dockfor yourIPod. The
unit is designed for usewith SD/MMC,MS memorycardsand USB
memory devices. The unit appliesthe lateststate oftheart electron-
icsand isdesigned for use inhotels, offices or yourhome. Theunit
isconstructedto provideyearsofreliable, trouble-freeservice,andis
compact so that you can take itwith you anywhereand isdesigned
forquick andeasyinstallation. Pleaseread theentireinstruction
manual supplied withthis product prior to using.The documentation
willassistyouin installingthe system properly to obtain the bestequip-
mentperformance. Please save this manual for later use.
B. Cautions and Warnings
1. Placement
Toprevent fireorelectric shock,donotexpose this appliance to
rain or moisture.Donot place the set on an unstable cart, stand,
tripod, bracket ortable toprevent it fromfalling. Keeptheunit away
from strongmagnets,heatsources,directsunlight, excessive dust.
Ifthe unit is brought directlyfrom a cold to a warm location, mois-
ture maycondense inside the unit. When you move it from a cold
toa warm location, wait forabout one hourbefore operating the
unit, or removethe discandleave theunitturnedonuntilthemois-
ture evaporates.
2. Installation
Ensure that the 8”portable DVD player withadock for youriPod is
usedin accordance with the instructions and illustrations provided
in this manual.
3. Caution
Do not push objects ofany kindinto the unit throughopenings;
do not spill or sprayliquid ofanykind on or in the system (this
mayresult in a fire or electric shock). Do not place anything
heavy onthe unit. Toensure proper ventilation and proper

operation,never cover or blocktheslots and openings with acloth
or other material. Keepthe unit awayfrom an open flame such as
fire,candle etc. Itishazardous toreplacethe batteryincorrectly.
Replacethe batteryonly with thesame or equivalenttype, in order
to protect the environment, please dispose the batteryproperly.
Do not use the unit in temperatures higher than 95 degrees Fahr-
enheit or 35 degrees Celsius.
4.Disassembly
Do not attempt to disassemble the cabinet. There is ariskofelec-
tricshock and/orexposure to LaserRadiation. Contact qualified
service personnel ifyour system needs repair.
5.Cleaning Unit
Whencleaning,makesurethesystem isunplugged fromthepower
source. Donotuseliquid cleaners or aerosolcleaners. Usea cloth
lightly dampenedwith waterfor cleaningtheexterior ofthe system
only.
6. Disc
Do not use irregularlyshaped discs such asheart orstar-shaped
discs as theymay cause the unittomalfunction.Donotstickpaper,
tapeor glue on the disc. Do not expose thedisc to direct sunlight
or heat sources. Do not touchthe surface ofdisc. Handle thedisc
by itsedge. Cleanthedisc bywipingthedisc from the center out
with acleaning cloth. Removethe disc from the unit and store it in
its case after playing. Some playbackoperationsofdiscs maybe
intentionally fixed bysoftwareproducers. Since this unitplays discs
according to the disc contentsthesoftwareproducers designed,
some playbackfeatures maynot be available. Also refer to the in-
structionssuppliedwiththediscs.

7.RegionalCoding
Both theDVDplayer and disc are coded by region. These
regional codes must match inorder for thedisc toplay.Ifthe
codesdon’t match, the disc won’t play. This unit’s code is region

1. Powering the system indoors (Refer to Figure 1)
Plug one end of theAC to DC adapterinto the DCinputjackon the
left side ofthe mainunit, then plugthe otherend intothe 110~240V
AC power receptacle.
2. Powering the systemin a car
Plugoneend ofthecigarette lighteradapter into the DC inputjack
on the unit, then plugthe otherendintothe cigarettelightersocket.

a.After connecting powerto theunit, poweron DVDplayer”with the
power switch. The powerindicator will light.
b. Open the disc tray by pressing theOPENButton, andplace adisc
into the tray with the labelside facing up.
c. Close thetray bypressingthe area marked CLOSE”.Theunitwill
load the discand start playing.
d. Rotate VOLUME to adjust the DVD player’s volume.
e. To stopplaying adisc,pressSTOP.

H.Dock for iPod and Playing files storedin your iPod
1. Determinewhich iPod you have.
Note: This unit is for video iPods only. Ifyou have a30 gigabyte iPod
insert the 30 gigabyte adapter (Figure4) intothe iPod dock. Youcan
dock youriPod for playback ofstoredfilesandrecharging.Only 30G,
60Gand 80G iPodswith video are supported.
2. Tilt the iPod dockupward(Figure 5). If the iPod hitsthe DVD player
screen, tilt the screen backwards.
3. SlidetheiPod into thedock (Figure6) 30-pin connector facingdown.
4. Press down ontheiPod to engage the 30-pin connector.
5. The iPoddockcan now betiltedbackuntil it isflush withthe surface
of the DVD player.

NOTE: If thetopofthe iPod hitsthesurfaceofthe DVD player it is not
fullyseated. RemovetheiPod andre-insert it.
6. Set theDVDplayer to the power-on mode.
7. Press the SOURCE button repeatedlyfor the iPod input.
8. Select a video andsettheiPodto TV OUT”to watchit on the DVD
player’s screen. To playphotos in your iPod, youneed topress the
buttononyour iPod otherwise there will be no picture on the screen
when you playvideo files in your iPod. (See your iPod user’smanual
for detailedoperation.)
9.You can playfilesstored intheiPod usingthe buttons
onthe DVD player oron your iPod directly.
10.To remove theiPod, tilt the DVD player’s screen backwards and tilt
iPod upwards. Slide the iPodout of thedock.
NOTE:
1. Please remove the adaptermarked for 30G iPod”from the dockif
you wantto docka60Gor 80G iPod.
2. Torechargeyour iPod, youmust connect your DVDplayer to
theDC power adapter or anAC source andensure your DVD player is
isset to power off or if your DVD player is set to power on, the
sourceis set to iPod”.
3. When playingmusicon the iPod, the information of themusic will
bedisplayedon the screen ofthe iPod and not theDVD screen.
4.IniPod/AV IN mode, ifthere isnosignal in put, the monitor will shut
offautomatically.

I.Menu
A DVD is divided into sections called titlesandchapters. When you
play a DVD,aroot menu ofthedisc will appearonthescreen ofyour
TVor Monitor. Thecontentsofthe menu varyfrom disc to disc.
Press MENU duringplaybackto display the menu. Some DVDs only
allowyou to select disc playbackoptions using the DVD root menu.
J.Display
1. PLAYINGTIME AND REMAININGTIME
a. Duringplaybackpress the ‘DISPLAY’button to displaythe cur-
rent Title Number (1), the total Number ofTitles (2), the current
ChapterNumber (3), thetotal Numberof Chapters (4), andthe
Playing elapsedTimefor thetitle (5). Theheadingwill disappear
automaticallyafter 3 seconds ifDISPLAYbuttonis not pressed.

2. SUBTITLE
Duringdisc playbackpress ‘SUBTITLE’toselectthe subtitle language
youdesire*,withthecurrentSubtitle LanguageNumber(1) andthe
total Number of Subtitle Languages(2)displayed. Ifthere are mul-
tiplelanguagespress ‘SUBTITLE’againto selectanother subtitlelan-
guage.Toturn subtitles OFF,press the ‘SUBTITLE’button until ‘Sub-
titleOff’isdisplayed.TheSubtitledisplay willdisappearautomatically
ifthe ‘SUBTITLE’button is not pressed again within 3 seconds.

3. AUDIO
During playbackpress ‘AUDIO’to select theaudio languageyou de-
sire*, with the current Audio Channel Number (1) and the total num-
ber of AudioChannels(2)displayed.PressAUDIOagain to select
anotheraudio language. The audiodisplaywill disappear automati-
callyifthe ‘AUDIO’button is not pressed within for 3 seconds.

USING THEREPEATFEATURE
Thedefaultmode forthe Repeat feature isOFF.PressingREPEAT

Asyou toggle throughthe options,the repeatoptionchanges. The selected
repeat option loops repeatedly until you turn itoff.
L. Playing MP3 Discs
MP3isa format for storingdigital audio.AnaudioCD-quality songis
compressed into theMP3 format with very littleloss ofaudio quality
whiletaking up much less disc space.CD-R/RWdiscs that have
beenencoded in MP3formatare compatible with this system.
Whenan MP3discis insertedintothe unit, themenuscreenappears
automatically.Youcanuse themenuscreentoselect your desired
foldersandsongs orthesystem plays thesongs in theorder they
were burned onto the disc.
1.Press the or buttontochoosea folderfrom thefolder liston
the leftsideof the screen.
2. Press ENTERto select thehighlighted folder. The songs avail-
able under the folder willbe listed.
3.Use or buttontochooseasongfromthe list. PressENTER
to select and begin playback ofthehighlightedsong.

4. Use the ( NEXT ) button to move to the nextsong. Press the
(PREVIOUS) button to moveto the beginningofthe previous
song.
USINGTHEREPEATFEATURE
Thedefault modefor the Repeat feature isOFF. Pressing REPEAT
consecutively changes the repeat options:
•Repeat One (repeat playback ofa song)
•Repeat Folder (repeatplaybackofa specific folder)
•RepeatOff (normal playback)
As you toggle throughthe options, the repeat mode changes. The
selected repeat mode loops repeatedly until you turn it off.

Plug theSD/MMC/MSCard orUSB deviceintotheSD/MMC/MSSlotor

remote control) to select the USB /SD source.

1. GeneralSetup Page
1)With no discinsidethe player,press‘SETUP’todisplaythe Mainscreen
ofthe Setup Menuon the screen and General Setup Page”appearsand
” ishighlighted. Press ‘SETUP’againto exittheSetupMenu.
2) Press the ENTERbutton, TV Display”ishighlighted.
3) Press the or button to select the other menus in general setup
page.
4) Press to enter the submenu.
5) Press the or button to select the sub menu and press the
ENTER to confirm your selection.
6) Repeat steps 3-5 for other menus.
Note: Press toreturn theprevious menu.
a) TVDisplay
Normal/PS:When the player outputssignal toa normal TV,anormal
picture is shown on the full screen.
Normal/LB: When the player outputs signal toa normalTV, a normal
picture is shownon the screen with ablackstrip at both thetop and
bottom ofthe screen.
Wide: When the player outputssignal toa wide screen TV, awide
picture is shown on the full screen.
b) Angle Mark
On:Thescreen will showthe anglemark icon. (Ifanangle optionis
available).
Off: The screen will not displaytheangle mark.
c) Screen Saver
On: Enablesscreensaver.
Note: TheDVD playerwillenterthe Screen Saver mode after ap-
proximately fiveminutes ifthe same imageremains on thescreen.
Off: Disables screen saver.
