FKT 12V

•Permite que o utilizador determine o nível da carga que resta na bateria quer tenha a carga aplicada ou não e, por conseguinte, se é
necessário carregar a bateria antes de ser utilizada.
•Permite que o utilizador optimize a vida útil da bateria carregando-a a partir do nível correcto. O ciclo óptimo de vida da bateria con-
segue-se quando a bateria é carregada a partir de uma capacidade superior a 10% e inferior a 60%.
•Permite que o utilizador carregue a bateria à temperatura correcta. Deixando a bateria no dispositivo de verificação permitirá que esta
arrefeça até atingir a temperatura correcta no espaço de 5 a 10 minutos.
•Permite que o utilizador identifique quais as baterias que estão a chegar ao fim dos seus ciclos de vida ou que estão defeituosas.
Esta folha de instruções deve ser lida, prestando atenção especial às regras de segurança indicadas no Manual de instruções
TX2000 e às regras de segurança indicadas a seguir, por todas as pessoas que vão instalar ou operar o dispositivo de verifi-
cação de baterias ou que vão manusear as baterias.
1Utilizar o dispositivo de verificação de baterias apenas para a finalidade para que foi concebido.
2Não utilizar baterias com este dispositivo que não sejam as recomendadas e fornecidas pela Avdel® Fastening Systems.
3O dispositivo de verificação de baterias tem de ser mantido sempre em condição segura de trabalho.
4O dispositivo de verificação de baterias deverá ser sempre operado de acordo com a legislação de segurança e saúde pertinente.

empresa local Avdel® Fastening Systems ou representante autorizado.
5Assegurar que os orifícios de ventilação não estão bloqueados ou tapados.
6Não operar o dispositivo num ambiente que permita a exposição a humidade, a chuva, a fluidos de combustíveis ou a gases.
7Verificar regularmente o dispositivo de verificação de baterias e, caso esteja danificado, mandar reparar por um representante Avdel®
Fastening Systems autorizado.
8Não eliminar baterias em água ou fogo (perigo de explosão). As baterias devem ser eliminadas de acordo com os regulamentos ambien-
tais.
CARACTERÍSTICAS
Dispositivo para analisar a capacidade de carga, a temperatura e a condição dos pacotes de baterias Ni-Cd e Ni-MH de 12 V da Avdel®.
•Nível de capacidade da bateria
• A escala de LED coloridos na parte de cima da unidade indica o nível da carga que resta em termos de uma percentagem e de um
valor de tensão.
• O nível da capacidade da bateria também pode ser monitorizado quando a bateria tiver uma carga aplicada.
•Tensão da bateria
• O LED verde indica se a tensão da bateria é superior a 10 V, inferior a 10 V ou inferior a 3 V.
• Se o LED verde indicar que a tensão da bateria é inferior a 3 V, esta será uma boa indicação de que a bateria chegou ao fim da sua
vida útil ou que está defeituosa.
•Temperatura da bateria
• O LED vermelho indica se a temperatura da bateria está à temperatura óptima, se está demasiado quente ou fria para ser carrega-
da ou se está defeituosa.
•Condição da bateria
• Se nem o LED verde nem o LED vermelho emitirem um sinal, esta é uma boa indicação de que a bateria chegou ao fim da sua vida
útil ou que está defeituosa e, portanto, é necessário substituí-la.
BENEFÍCIOS

PROCEDIMENTO DE OPERAÇÃO
•Insira a bateria correctamente no dispositivo aplicando força mínima.
•Quando a bateria estiver inserida, uma escala de LED coloridos na parte de cima da unidade e os LEDs vermelho e verde na parte da
frente da mesma acenderão. Estes sinais de LED podem ser utilizados para determinar a condição da bateria.
•Mal a bateria seja inserida, um ventilador de arrefecimento também começará a funcionar.
•Nível de capacidade da bateria
• A escala de LED coloridos na parte de cima da unidade, começando com vermelho até verde, indica o nível da carga que resta em
termos de uma percentagem e de um valor de tensão. Um LED verde indica que a bateria está a plena carga e um vermelho que a
bateria está descarregada. A etiqueta colocada na parte de cima da unidade ajudará na avaliação da capacidade da bateria.
• O nível da capacidade da bateria também pode ser monitorizado quando a bateria estiver ligada a uma carga. Quando se prime o
botão verde na parte de cima da unidade, a bateria fica sujeita a uma carga de 8 A por um período de 10 segundos. O teste efectu-
ado quando a bateria está ligada a uma carga proporciona uma indicação mais representativa da capacidade da bateria quando esta
está a ser utilizada.
• Se o dispositivo de verificação indicar que a capacidade de carga restante da bateria é inferior a 30%, recomenda-se que a bateria
seja carregada antes de ser utilizada. No entanto, o operador deverá basear a sua decisão na experiência que possui da unidade,
da bateria e do desempenho da ferramenta no enquadramento da aplicação.
•Tensão da bateria
•O sinal do LED verde na frente da unidade indica o seguinte:
• Sinal constante - a tensão da bateria é superior a 10 V. A bateria está numa condição operacional.
• Sinal intermitente - a tensão da bateria é inferior a 10 V. Quanto mais rápida for a intermitência, mais baixa é a tensão. A bateria
deverá ser carregada.
• Ausência de sinal - a tensão da bateria é inferior a 3 V. A bateria está defeituosa.
•Se o LED verde indicar que a tensão da bateria é inferior a 3 V, esta será uma boa indicação de que a bateria chegou ao fim da sua vida
útil ou que está defeituosa. No caso tal ocorrer, a bateria deverá ser substituída.
•Temperatura da bateria
•O sinal do LED vermelho na frente da unidade indica o seguinte:
• Sinal constante - a bateria está à temperatura óptima para ser carregada. Quando se carrega a esta temperatura, obtém-se a mel-
hor capacidade de carga possível.
• Sinal intermitente - a temperatura da bateria está demasiado quente ou fria para ser carregada. Antes de carregar, deixe a bateria
arrefecer ou aquecer até atingir a temperatura óptima.
• Ausência de sinal - a bateria está defeituosa. A bateria deverá ser substituída.
•Se a bateria estiver demasiado quente, pode ser deixada no dispositivo de verificação para arrefecer até atingir a temperatura correcta,
que demorará entre 5 e 10 minutos, com a ajuda do ventilador do mesmo.
•Condição da bateria
• Se nem o LED verde nem o LED vermelho emitirem um sinal, esta é uma boa indicação de que a bateria chegou ao fim da sua vida
útil ou que está defeituosa e, portanto, é necessário substituí-la.

Battery Checking Device
FKT 12V

This instruction sheet must be read with particular attention to the safety rules listed in the TX2000 instruction manual
07900-00759 and to the following safety rules, by any person operating the battery checking device or handling the
batteries.
1Do not use the battery-checking device outside the design intent.
2Do not use batteries with this device other than those that are recommended and supplied by Avdel UK Limited.
3The battery-checking device must be maintained in a safe working condition at all times.
4The battery-checking device must at all times be operated in accordance with the relevant health and safety legislation. Any
question regarding the correct operation of the device and operator safety should be directed to your local Avdel UK Limited
company or authorised representative.
5Ensure that vent holes do not become blocked or covered.
6Do not operate the device in an environment allowing exposure to moisture, rain, combustible fluids or gasses.
7Regularly check the battery-checking device and in case of damage have repairs completed by an authorised Avdel representative.
8Do not discard batteries into water or fire, (danger of explosion). The battery must be disposed of in accordance with
environmental regulations.

•Battery Capacity Level
• A coloured LED scale on the top of the unit indicates the level of charge remaining in terms of a percentage and a voltage
value.
• The battery capacity level can also be monitored in a loaded condition.
•Battery Voltage
• Green LED indicates whether the battery voltage is greater than 10V, less than 10V or less than 3V.
• If the green LED indicates that the battery voltage is less then 3V this is a good indication that the battery has reached the
end of its life or is defective.
•Battery Temperature
• Red LED indicates whether the battery is at the optimum temperature for charging, is too hot or cold for charging or
defective.
•Battery Condition
• If either the green or red LED do not emit a signal this is a good indication that the battery has reached the end of its life or is
defective and therefore requires replacing.
•Enables the user to determine the remaining charge level of the battery in both an unloaded and loaded state and therefore
determine whether the battery requires re-charging prior to use.
•Enables the user to optimise the life of the battery by charging from the correct level. The optimum battery cycle life is achieved
when the battery is re-charged from a capacity greater than 10% and less than 60%.
•Enables the user to charge the battery at the correct temperature. Leaving the battery within the checking device will also cool the
battery to the correct temperature within 5 to 10 minutes.
•Enables the user to identify batteries that are at the end of their life cycle or defective, requiring replacement.

Benefits

•Insert the battery correctly into the device with minimal force.
•Once the battery is inserted a coloured LED scale on the top of the unit, and red and green LEDs at the front of the unit will light-
up. Inspection of these LED signals can be used to establish the state of the battery.
•A cooling fan will also operate as soon as the battery is inserted.
•Battery Capacity Level
• The coloured LED scale on the top of the unit, running from red to green, indicates the level of charge remaining in terms of a
percentage and a voltage value. A green LED indicating that the battery is fully charged and a red LED indicating that the
battery is discharged. The label positioned on the top of the unit will aid the evaluation of the battery’s capacity.
• The battery capacity level can also be monitored in a loaded condition. Pressing the green button on the top of the unit will
subject the battery to an 8A load for a period of 10 seconds. Testing when loaded provides a more representative indication
of the battery capacity when in use.
• If the checking device indicates that the remaining charge capacity of the battery is less than 30% it is recommended that the
battery be re-charged before starting. However, the operator should make this decision based on experience with the unit, the
battery and tool performance within the application.
•Battery Voltage
•The Green LED signal at the front of the unit indicates the following:
• Constant Signal - Battery voltage is greater than 10V. Battery condition is healthy.
• Flashing Signal - Battery voltage is less than 10V. The more rapid the flash the lower the voltage. Battery should be recharged.
• No Signal - Battery voltage is less than 3V. Battery is defective.
•If the green LED indicates that the battery voltage is less then 3V this is a good indication that the battery has reached the end of
its life or is defective. If this occurs the battery should be replaced.
•Battery Temperature
•The Red LED signal at the front of the unit indicates the following:
• Constant Signal - Battery is at the optimum temperature for charging. The best possible charge capacity can be achieved
when charging at this temperature.
• Flashing Signal - Battery temperature is too hot or cold for charging. The battery should be allowed to cool or warm up to the
optimum temperature before charging.
• No Signal - Battery is defective. The battery should be replaced.
•If the battery is too hot, leaving the battery within the checking device will cool the battery to the correct temperature within 5 to
10 minutes, using the in built fan.
•Battery Condition
• If either the green or red LED do not emit a signal this is a good indication that the battery has reached the end of its life or is
defective and therefore requires replacing.

The battery checking device FK12 in combination with the TX2000 tool is designed for analysing the charge capacity, temperature and
condition of Avdel® 12V Ni-Cd and Ni-MH battery packs.
IMPORTANT
The battery checking device and batteries must be used in accordance with the operating and safety instructions contained
within this instruction data sheet. The use of batteries, other than those recommended and supplied by Avdel UK Limited could
have a detrimental impact on the operation of the checking device and could invalidate the warranty.
