FKT 12V

•Permet à l’utilisateur de déterminer le niveau de charge disponible d’un accumulateur, en condition de charge ou non, et de savoir si l’ac-
cumulateur doit être rechargé avant sa mise en service.
•Permet à l’utilisateur d’optimiser la durée de vie d’un accumulateur en le rechargeant au bon moment, sachant que le cycle de vie optimal
d’un accumulateur s’obtient en le rechargeant lorsque son niveau de charge est compris entre 10 et 60 %.
•Permet à l’utilisateur de charger son accumulateur à la température qui convient. Laisser l’accumulateur inséré dans le vérificateur per-
met également de le refroidir pour le ramener à sa température optimale en 5 à 10 minutes.
•Permet à l’utilisateur d’identifier les accumulateurs qui ont atteint la fin de leur cycle de vie, défectueux ou à remplacer.
CARACTERISTIQUES
Les consignes de sécurité du manuel d’instructions TX2000 07900-00759 et suivantes doivent être lues attentivement par
toute personne amenée à utiliser le vérificateur ou à manipuler les accumulateurs.
1N’utiliser le vérificateur d’accumulateurs que dans le cadre des applications pour lesquelles il a été conçu.
2Ce vérificateur ne doit pas être utilisé avec des accumulateurs non préconisés ou non fournis par Avdel® Fastening Systems.
3Le vérificateur d’accumulateurs doit être maintenu dans un état de fonctionnement sûr à tout moment.
4Le vérificateur d’accumulateurs doit toujours être utilisé conformément aux lois sur la santé et la sécurité s’y rapportant. Adresser toute
question sur l’utilisation appropriée du vérificateur et la sécurité de l’utilisateur à l’agent ou au représentant agréés Avdel® Fastening
Systems de votre région.
5Veiller à ce que les ailettes d’aération ne soient ni obstruées ni recouvertes.
6Ne pas utiliser le vérificateur dans un environnement ou il risquerait d’être exposé à l’humidité, à la pluie, à des liquides ou gaz com-
bustibles.
7Vérifier régulièrement l’état du vérificateur d’accumulateurs et, en cas de détérioration, confier les réparations à un représentant Avdel®
Fastening Systems agréé.
8Ne pas jeter les accumulateurs dans l’eau ou le feu (danger d’explosion). La mise au rebut des accumulateurs doit respecter les règles
environnementales en vigueur.
Appareil servant à analyser la capacité de charge, la température et l’état des blocs d’accumulateurs Avdel® 12V Ni-Cd et Ni-MH.
•Niveau de charge de l’accumulateur
• Une échelle à DEL polychrome située sur le dessus du vérificateur indique le niveau de charge disponible de l’accumulateur sous
forme de pourcentage et de valeur de tension.
• Le contrôle du niveau de charge de l’accumulateur peut aussi s’effectuer en condition de charge.
•Tension de l’accumulateur
• Une DEL verte renseigne sur la tension de l’accumulateur : supérieure à 10 V, inférieure à 10 V ou inférieure à 3 V.
• Une DEL verte indiquant une tension d’accumulateur inférieure à 3 V révèle également que l’accumulateur a atteint la fin de son cycle
de vie ou sa défectuosité.
•Température de l’accumulateur
• La DEL rouge indique que l’accumulateur est à sa température de charge optimale, qu’il est trop froid ou trop chaud pour être chargé
ou défectueux.
•Etat de l’accumulateur
• L’absence de signaux des DEL verte ou rouge indique que l’accumulateur a atteint la fin de son cycle de vie ou sa défectuosité ; l’ac-
cumulateur doit être remplacé.

MODE D’EMPLOI
•Insérer l’accumulateur dans le vérificateur, sans forcer.
•A l’insertion de l’accumulateur, une échelle à DEL polychrome située sur le dessus du vérificateur ainsi que des DEL rouge et verte
situées sur sa partie frontale s’allument. Ces DEL informent l’utilisateur de l’état de l’accumulateur.
•Un ventilateur de refroidissement se déclenche également dès l’insertion de l’accumulateur.
•Niveau de charge de l’accumulateur
• La couleur de l’échelle à DEL polychrome située sur le dessus du vérificateur varie du rouge au vert, pour indiquer le niveau de
charge disponible de l’accumulateur sous forme de pourcentage et de valeur de tension. La DEL verte indique que l’accumulateur est
complètement chargé; la DEL rouge indique que l’accumulateur est à plat. L’étiquette située sur le dessus du vérificateur aide l’utilisa-
teur à évaluer la capacité de l’accumulateur.
• Le niveau de capacité de l’accumulateur peut aussi être contrôlé en condition de charge. Appuyer sur le bouton vert situé sur le
dessus de l’accumulateur le soumet à une charge de 8 ampères pendant 10 secondes. La vérification de l’accumulateur en condition
de charge donne à l’utilisateur une idée plus précise de la capacité de l’accumulateur en service.
• Il est recommandé de recharger l’accumulateur avant de le mettre en service si le vérificateur indique une capacité de charge
disponible inférieure à 30 %. Ceci dit, l’utilisateur devra baser sa décision sur son expérience du vérificateur, de l’accumulateur et de
la performance de l’outil utilisé pour l’application concernée.
•Tension de l’accumulateur
•Le signal émis par la DEL verte située sur la partie frontale du vérificateur s’interprète comme suit :
• Signal constant – tension d’accumulateur supérieure à 10 V. Accumulateur sain.
• Signal clignotant – tension d’accumulateur inférieure à 10 V. Plus la diode clignote rapidement, plus la tension est faible.
Le rechargement de l’accumulateur s’impose.
• Absence de signal – tension d’accumulateur inférieure à 3 V. Accumulateur défectueux.
•Une DEL verte indiquant une tension d’accumulateur inférieure à 3 V révèle également que l’accumulateur a atteint la fin de son cycle de
vie ou sa défectuosité. Dans ce cas, l’accumulateur doit être remplacé.
•Température de l’accumulateur
•Le signal émis par la DEL rouge située sur la partie frontale du vérificateur s’interprète comme suit :
• Signal constant – l’accumulateur est à sa température de charge optimale. Cette température donnera les meilleurs résultats de
charge.
• Signal clignotant – la température est trop chaude ou trop froide pour charger l’accumulateur. L’utilisateur devra laisser refroidir ou
réchauffer l’accumulateur à sa température optimale avant de le charger.
• Absence de signal – accumulateur défectueux. Le remplacement de l’accumulateur s’impose.
•Un accumulateur trop chaud peut être laissé inséré dans le vérificateur ; le ventilateur intégré au vérificateur se chargera de le ramener à
sa température optimale en 5 à 10 minutes.
•Etat de l’accumulateur
• L’absence de signaux des DEL verte ou rouge indique que l’accumulateur a atteint la fin de son cycle de vie ou sa défectuosité ; l’ac-
cumulateur doit être remplacé.

Battery Checking Device
FKT 12V

This instruction sheet must be read with particular attention to the safety rules listed in the TX2000 instruction manual
07900-00759 and to the following safety rules, by any person operating the battery checking device or handling the
batteries.
1Do not use the battery-checking device outside the design intent.
2Do not use batteries with this device other than those that are recommended and supplied by Avdel UK Limited.
3The battery-checking device must be maintained in a safe working condition at all times.
4The battery-checking device must at all times be operated in accordance with the relevant health and safety legislation. Any
question regarding the correct operation of the device and operator safety should be directed to your local Avdel UK Limited
company or authorised representative.
5Ensure that vent holes do not become blocked or covered.
6Do not operate the device in an environment allowing exposure to moisture, rain, combustible fluids or gasses.
7Regularly check the battery-checking device and in case of damage have repairs completed by an authorised Avdel representative.
8Do not discard batteries into water or fire, (danger of explosion). The battery must be disposed of in accordance with
environmental regulations.

•Battery Capacity Level
• A coloured LED scale on the top of the unit indicates the level of charge remaining in terms of a percentage and a voltage
value.
• The battery capacity level can also be monitored in a loaded condition.
•Battery Voltage
• Green LED indicates whether the battery voltage is greater than 10V, less than 10V or less than 3V.
• If the green LED indicates that the battery voltage is less then 3V this is a good indication that the battery has reached the
end of its life or is defective.
•Battery Temperature
• Red LED indicates whether the battery is at the optimum temperature for charging, is too hot or cold for charging or
defective.
•Battery Condition
• If either the green or red LED do not emit a signal this is a good indication that the battery has reached the end of its life or is
defective and therefore requires replacing.
•Enables the user to determine the remaining charge level of the battery in both an unloaded and loaded state and therefore
determine whether the battery requires re-charging prior to use.
•Enables the user to optimise the life of the battery by charging from the correct level. The optimum battery cycle life is achieved
when the battery is re-charged from a capacity greater than 10% and less than 60%.
•Enables the user to charge the battery at the correct temperature. Leaving the battery within the checking device will also cool the
battery to the correct temperature within 5 to 10 minutes.
•Enables the user to identify batteries that are at the end of their life cycle or defective, requiring replacement.

•Insert the battery correctly into the device with minimal force.
•Once the battery is inserted a coloured LED scale on the top of the unit, and red and green LEDs at the front of the unit will light-
up. Inspection of these LED signals can be used to establish the state of the battery.
•A cooling fan will also operate as soon as the battery is inserted.
•Battery Capacity Level
• The coloured LED scale on the top of the unit, running from red to green, indicates the level of charge remaining in terms of a
percentage and a voltage value. A green LED indicating that the battery is fully charged and a red LED indicating that the
battery is discharged. The label positioned on the top of the unit will aid the evaluation of the battery’s capacity.
• The battery capacity level can also be monitored in a loaded condition. Pressing the green button on the top of the unit will
subject the battery to an 8A load for a period of 10 seconds. Testing when loaded provides a more representative indication
of the battery capacity when in use.
• If the checking device indicates that the remaining charge capacity of the battery is less than 30% it is recommended that the
battery be re-charged before starting. However, the operator should make this decision based on experience with the unit, the
battery and tool performance within the application.
•Battery Voltage
•The Green LED signal at the front of the unit indicates the following:
• Constant Signal - Battery voltage is greater than 10V. Battery condition is healthy.
• Flashing Signal - Battery voltage is less than 10V. The more rapid the flash the lower the voltage. Battery should be recharged.
• No Signal - Battery voltage is less than 3V. Battery is defective.
•If the green LED indicates that the battery voltage is less then 3V this is a good indication that the battery has reached the end of
its life or is defective. If this occurs the battery should be replaced.
•Battery Temperature
•The Red LED signal at the front of the unit indicates the following:
• Constant Signal - Battery is at the optimum temperature for charging. The best possible charge capacity can be achieved
when charging at this temperature.
• Flashing Signal - Battery temperature is too hot or cold for charging. The battery should be allowed to cool or warm up to the
optimum temperature before charging.
• No Signal - Battery is defective. The battery should be replaced.
•If the battery is too hot, leaving the battery within the checking device will cool the battery to the correct temperature within 5 to
10 minutes, using the in built fan.
•Battery Condition
• If either the green or red LED do not emit a signal this is a good indication that the battery has reached the end of its life or is
defective and therefore requires replacing.

The battery checking device FK12 in combination with the TX2000 tool is designed for analysing the charge capacity, temperature and
condition of Avdel® 12V Ni-Cd and Ni-MH battery packs.
IMPORTANT
The battery checking device and batteries must be used in accordance with the operating and safety instructions contained
within this instruction data sheet. The use of batteries, other than those recommended and supplied by Avdel UK Limited could
have a detrimental impact on the operation of the checking device and could invalidate the warranty.
