USE
Use
Avoury tea capsules contain ideal portions of tea
for use in the tea machine.
The size of the capsule is determined by the fact
that the tea needs space to develop during the
brewing process. A lid foil ensures that the tea
in the capsule is protected against loss of its
aroma. This lid foil must be removed before
the capsule can be used. There is a porous net
under the lid foil, which has either fine mesh or
coarse mesh depending on the fineness of the
loose tea. Each capsule has a code that tells the
tea machine which parameters the tea requires
to provide maximum enjoyment.
Download the free Avoury App directly
to update the machine software (see
chapter „Control via Avoury App“).
Switching on the tea
machine
1. Connect the mains plug with a properly
installed socket.
2. Ensure that the capsule compartment 2
is closed.
3. To switch on the tea machine, press the
Start-Button . The Start-Button
flashes whilst it is starting up. Once the tea
machine is ready, the Start-Button will
show a continuous light.
Rinsing the brewing
chamber
The tea machine must be cleaned out before the
first use and after longer periods of non-use to
remove any manufacturing residues and con-
tamination. To do this, the tea machine must be
switched on.

and the tea machine restarts.
The LED “Carry out cleaning”
does not go out.
The cleaning programme was cancel-
led/was not completed.
Restart the cleaning programme and
allow it to be completed.
The LED “Carry out descaling”
does not go out.
The descaling programme was can-
celled/was not completed.
Restart the descaling programme
and allow it to be completed.
Only water (and no tea) is dispensed
from the tea machine.
The lid foil has not been removed
from the capsule.
Remove the lid foil and reinsert the
capsule.
In the event that the lid foil was not removed, the capsule has already been in-
serted into the machine and this has been noticed before the brewing process
has started.
Press and hold the Start-Button
for approx. 3 seconds or open the
capsule compartment 2. The cap-
sule will be ejected without brewing
(as long as the brewing process has
not yet started).
The tea machine ejects the capsules
directly after being inserted. Tea
dispensing is not possible.
The cleaning or descaling program-
me was cancelled/was not comple-
ted.
Check to see whether both LEDs for
“Carry out cleaning” or “Carry out
descaling” show a continuous
light. Then restart the corresponding
programme. Alternatively - rinse the
brewing chamber (see page 31).

TROUBLESHOOTING
PAGE 40
If the 4 LEDs “Empty water tank” , “Empty capsule container” , “Carry out cleaning” and “Carry
out descaling” all ash at the same time this indicates a system error. This may have a number of dif-
ferent causes, some of which you can solve yourself. The error code indicates the cause of the error. This
code is shown in the “brewing time” 16 display. Each LED that shows a continuous white light stands
for “0”. Each LED that ashes stands for “1”. The display should be read from left to right.
Example: black = ashing | white = shows a continuous light
“00010010”

Disposal
Electrical appliances bearing the
crossed-out wheelie bin symbol are
subject to the EU Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment Directive (in
Germany covered by ElektroG –
Electrical Equipment Act) and may not be
disposed of in domestic waste.
If the machine can no longer be used, you are
legally obliged to hand in old electrical and elect-
ronic appliances separately from domestic waste.
This is indicated by the crossed-out wheelie bin
symbol.
You can hand in your end-of-life electrical and
electronic equipment free of charge at the follo-
wing places: local municipal collection points (e.g.
your local recycling centre) or, for example, sellers
subject to take- back obligation (i.e. dealers with
a sales, shipping and/or storage area measuring
400 m² in total and/or, from 3 July 2022 in Ger-
many, food retailers with a sales area of 800 m²,
who sell electrical appliances on a regular basis).
Please note that handing in your old appliances
to a seller with take-back obligation requires that
you purchase a new equivalent machine
(1:1 return).
Returning end-of-life electrical appliances ensures
that they are recycled correctly/returned to the
recycling economy and thus avoids a negative
impact on the environment and people.
Please make sure that you delete all personal
data before handing over end-of-life appliances.
If your appliance is still working, please pass it on
so it can be used again for environmental reasons
and to save resources (e.g. by passing it on to
others for further use).
