I. Overview
The CAN (ControllerArea Network) is a serial bus system and is
usually used in structuring intelligent industrial device networks and
building smart automatic control systems. The iCON-101CU is a
cost-efficient industrial converter for pairs to PC using the standard
USB interface. It supports CAN monitor tool that displays the CAN
received message in decimal or hexadecimal mode. This converter
shows the time stamp of each received message. The GUI
management program and programming guide both are ready for
use. The CAN host, monitor or HMI can access and control CAN
device through iCON-101CU.
There is a User’s Manual CD-ROM for the iCON-101CU
system. Please consult your local vendor for assistance if
you have any difficulties in installing.

V. LED indicator
VI. Driver
It is necessary to install driver so the iCON-101CU can work properly
under operating system.About how to install the device driver under
Windows XP. You can follow the user manual instructions to install
the driver.
VII. Commands
To meet user’s application purpose, commands are provided for
CAN module management, transmitting and receiving messages
through iCON-101CU. Each command consists of 3 parts: StartByte,
ContentOfCommand and StopByte.

(POWER) Light on Power status indicator. The
LED light is on when
iCON-101CU is powered on.
Light on PC is sending data to CAN

Operation can be set to command and data mode. In command
mode, CAN module accepts commands and this is the default mode.
Data mode is the mode that only and automatically report CAN
messages to UART port or USB port based on settings until user
inputs command string ‘+++’.
VIII. Utility
You can use hyperterminal program to send and retrieve command
messages from iCON-101CU. Or Use AXCAN utility to configure
CAN communication parameters. It is also used to transmit or
receive CAN messages for simple function testing.About how to
