Bitratecontrol
Bysettingthebitratecontrolyocanmanagethebandwidthconsmptionforyorvideostream.
Variablebitrate(VBR)
Withvariablebitratethebandwidthvariesbasedonthelevelofactivityinthescene.Themoreactivityinthescene,themore
bandwidthisreqired.Thisoptiongaranteesthatimageqalityisconstantbtreqiresstoragemargins.
Maximumbitrate(MBR)
Themaximmbitrateoptionallowsyotosetatargetbitratevaletobeabletohandlesystembitratelimitations.Tokeepthe
instantaneosbitratebelowthespeciedtargetbitrate,theremaybeadecreaseinimageqalityortheframeratemaydecrease.
Yohavetheoptiontoprioritizeeitherimageqalityorframerate.Itisrecommendedtocongrethetargetbitratehigherthanthe
expectedbitratetohavemarginsforadditionalcomplexitythatneedstobecaptred.
Averagebitrate(ABR)
Withaveragebitrate,thebitrateisatomaticallyadjstedoveralongertimescaletomeetthespeciedtargetandprovidethe
bestqalityonthevideostreambasedonavailablestorage.Imageqalityisdecreasedniformly.Yocanstillgetgoodimage
qalitywhenthereisactivityinthescene.Theaveragebitrateoptionallowsyotodenethetotalstoragereqiredtostorethe

displayedandpdatedataratesfcienttocreateastreamthatshowsconstantlypdatedmotion.Fortheviewertoperceivemotion

TheMotionJPEGstreamsesconsiderableamontsofbandwidth,btprovidesexcellentimageqalityandaccesstoeveryimage

H.264orMPEG-4Part10/AVC

H.264isalicensedtechnology.TheAxisprodctincldesoneH.264viewingclientlicense.Toinstalladditionalnlicensed
copiesoftheclientisprohibited.Toprchaseadditionallicenses,contactyorAxisreseller.
H.264can,withotcompromisingimageqality,redcethesizeofadigitalvideolebymorethan80%comparedtotheMotion
JPEGformatandbyasmchas50%comparedtotheMPEG-4standard.Thismeansthatlessnetworkbandwidthandstoragespace
