•Ifyouneedfullcontrolofallparameters,mostlyusefulforsceneswithlittlechangeinlighting,

BenetfromIRlightinlow-lightconditionsusingnightmode
Yourcamerausesvisiblelighttodelivercolorimagesduringtheday.Astheavailablelightdiminishes,
youcansetthecameratoautomaticallyshifttonightmode,inwhichthecamerausesbothvisiblelight
andnear-infraredlighttodeliverblack-and-whiteimages.Sincethecamerausesmoreoftheavailable
lightitcandeliverbrighter,moredetailed,images.
1.GotoSettings>Image>Dayandnight,andmakesurethattheIRcutfilterissettoAuto.
2.Todetermineatwhatlightlevelyouwantthecameratoshifttonightmode,settheDay-night

images.Theseimagesarethendisplayedandupdatedataratesufficienttocreateastreamthat
showsconstantlyupdatedmotion.Fortheviewertoperceivemotionvideotheratemustbeatleast
16imageframespersecond.Fullmotionvideoisperceivedat30(NTSC)or25(PAL)framespersecond.
TheMotionJPEGstreamusesconsiderableamountsofbandwidth,butprovidesexcellentimagequality
andaccesstoeveryimagecontainedinthestream.

H.264isalicensedtechnology.TheAxisproductincludesoneH.264viewingclientlicense.To
installadditionalunlicensedcopiesoftheclientisprohibited.Topurchaseadditionallicenses,
contactyourAxisreseller.
H.264can,withoutcompromisingimagequality,reducethesizeofadigitalvideofilebymorethan80%
comparedtotheMotionJPEGformatandbyasmuchas50%comparedtoolderMPEGformats.This
meansthatlessnetworkbandwidthandstoragespacearerequiredforavideofile.Orseenanotherway,

Toresettheproducttothefactorydefaultsettings:

framerate,andsomeaffectboth.IftheloadontheCPUreachesitsmaximum,thisalsoaffectsthe
framerate.
