Axisdevicessendtheinitiallysetpasswordincleartextoverthenetwork.Toprotectyourdeviceaftertherstlogin,set
upasecureandencryptedHTTPSconnectionandthenchangethepassword.
Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforthedataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyastheymaybe
usedinvarioustypesofinstallations.Toprotectyourdatawerecommendthatyou:
•Changethedefaultpasswordthatcomeswiththedevices.
•Useapasswordwithatleast8characters,preferablycreatedbyapasswordgenerator.
•Don’texposethepassword.
•Changepasswordatarecurringinterval,atleastonceayear.

Theeventpagesallowyoutocongureyourproducttoperformactionswhendifferenteventsoccur.Forexample,theproduct
canstartarecordingorsendanemailnoticationwhenmotionisdetected.Thesetofconditionsthatdeneshowandwhen
theactionistriggerediscalledanactionrule.

1.GotoSettings>System>Eventstosetupanactionrule.Theactionruledeneswhenthecamerawillperformcertain
actions.Actionrulescanbesetupasscheduled,recurring,orforexample,triggeredbymotiondetection.
2.SelectwhatTriggermustbemettotriggertheaction.fyouspecifymorethanonetriggerfortheactionrule,all
ofthemmustbemettotriggertheaction.
3.SelectwhichActionthecamerashouldperformwhentheconditionsaremet.

fyoumakechangestoanactiveactionrule,theactionruleneedstoberestartedforthechangestotakeeffect.
Howtousethermalcameramotiondetectiontozoominandrecordwiththevisualcamera

recommendthatyouremoveallVMDprolesonthevisualcamera.
