With its perfect design, the BaByliss PURE METAL has
been specially conceived to instantly straighten or curl
your hair to perfection.
PRODUCT FEATURES

USE
WARNING: hot surfaces! Do not touch the metal
parts of the appliance with ngers. During use,
take care not to bring the appliance into contact
with the scalp, face, ears or neck.
• Foroptimalprecisionstraighteningorcurling,usethe
removable tips. Position them before switching on the
appliance, sliding them onto the front of each plate
and into place (Fig. 1).
• Untanglehairthoroughly.Cliptheupperlayersoutof
the way, so that you can start with the underneath
sections.
• Plugintheapplianceandswitchon.
• Use the temperature selector to select the desired
temperature.
As a rule, we recommend using a lower temperature
for ne, bleached and/or damaged hair, and a higher
temperature for curly, thick and/or difcult-to-style hair.
All hair is different. We recommend using the lowest
temperature at rst use. Thereafter, you can gradually
increasethesettingif necessary.Asarough guide,see
the table below:

• Theindicatorlightsashuntilthedesiredtemperature
is reached.
Straightening:Takeupasectionabout5cmwideand
place it between the 2 heating plates, near the roots
of your hair. Close the appliance and keep the plates
closed with your other hand, taking care not to touch
them. Slowly glide the appliance over the length of the
section, from the roots to the tips (Fig. 2). Repeat again
if necessary.
• Letthehaircooldownbeforeyoucombit.
• Afteruse,switchoffandunplugtheappliance.Allow
the appliance to cool before storing.
Curling:Takeupa section about 3cmwideandplace
itbetween the 2 heatingplates,near the roots of your
hair. Turn the appliance 180° upwards (or downwards,
depending on the curl desired) (Fig. 3). Slowly slide the
straightener along the whole length of the hair, from the
roots to the tips, using your other hand to hold the plates
properly closed against the hair (Fig. 4-5). Remove the
straightener and use your ngers to twist the section
again so that it takes its natural position (Fig. 6). Repeat
if necessary. You may wish to set the curls using a light
misting of hairspray.
Notes:
• Whenusingtheunitforthersttime,youmightnotice
a distinct odour: this is common and will disappear by
the next use.
• Each time you use the appliance, you may see
someasmallamountofsteamgivenoff. Do not be
concerned, this could be because of evaporation of the
naturaloilsofthehair,residualhairproducts(leave-
in hair products, hairspray, etc.) or excess moisture
evaporating from your hair.
• Aheatprotectionspraycanbeusedtoprovideoptimal
protection of the hair.
• It is quite normal to hear a slight noise, similar to
a crackle: this is the characteristic noise of the ion
generator.
AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF
If the appliance is left switched on for more than 1 hour,
it will automatically shut off.
MAINTENANCE
• Unplugtheapplianceandallowtocoolcompletely.
• Remove the removable tips. Warning: the appliance
must have cooled completely.
• Cleantheplatesusingasoft,dampenedcloth,without
soap,topreservetheoptimalqualityoftheplates.Do
not scratch the plates.
• Toprotecttheplates,storethestraighteningironwith
the plates closed tightly.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• WARNING: the polyethylene bags over
the product or its packaging may be
dangerous. Keep these bags out of the
reach of babies and children. Never use
them in cribs, children’s beds, pushchairs or playpens.
The thin lm may cling to the nose and mouth and

• WARNING: do not use over or near
washbasins, bathtubs, showers or other
containers with water. Store the unit in a
dry place.
• Ifyouareusingtheunitinabathroom,unplugitafter
youhavenishedusingit. Using the unitcloseto a
source of water can, in fact, be dangerous, even if the
unit is switched off. To ensure additional protection,
have installed in your bathroom a residual current
device (RCD) with a nominal trip current no higher
than30mA.Askyourelectricaltterforadvice.
• Neverimmersetheunitinwateroranyotherliquid.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced
bythemanufacturer,itsafter-salesserviceorsimilarly
