

INSTALLATION AND ORIENTATION PROCEDURES
This Technical Bulletin provides the procedures necessary to verify the proper attachment
configuration and orientation of the 962270 Headnet Kit on TwentyTwenty-style facepieces.
The proper attachment configuration and orientation of the three upper straps is essential to
assuring the proper fit of the Headnet.
*****WARNING*****
Remove the top three buckles and buckle
straps from the facepiece prior to installation.
Failure to do so will adversely affect the fit of
the facepiece after the Headnet has been
installed. Poor facepiece fit could cause the
wearer to inhale contaminants, resulting in
illness or death.
INSPECTION
Read the attached installation instructions, paying particular attention to Section VI,
INSTALLATION, items 2, 3 & 4 and Figure 1, Top Straps Installation. Compare the installation
of your Headnet to the one shown in Figure 1 to verify proper installation of the Headnet. If the
installation of your Headnet differs from that shown in Figure 1, remove the Headnet and
reinstall following the installation instructions and all Warnings, Cautions, and Notes.

Installation Instructions
I. INTRODUCTION
This instruction sheet describes the installation
procedures for SURVIVAIR’s TwentyTwenty®Headnet™
Kit. This installation may be performed by users and/or a
SURVIVAIR certified technician. You must read and
understand this instruction sheet and be properly trained
before attempting installation or operation of this device.

The Operation Instructions supplied with
this kit must be provided to the user of
the modified SCBA.
NOTE
All SURVIVAIR certified technicians are required to
remain current on new procedures and parts through
SURVIVAIR’s published Technical Bulletins, technical
manual revisions, and certification seminars.
II. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

III. DESCRIPTION
The TwentyTwenty®SCBA facepiece can be modified by
removing the facepiece headstrap and replacing it with
the Headnet supplied in kit P/N 962270.

No tools are required.
VI. INSTALLATION
1. Remove the existing headstrap from the
TwentyTwenty SCBA facepiece.
2. Remove the top three buckles and buckle
straps from the upper rim.
3. Insert the three top straps through the
slots in the upper rim as shown in Figure
1.

4. Pull the straps to ensure that they lock in
the slots.
5. Route the elastic adjustment straps
through the bottom facepiece buckles as
shown in Figure 2.

6. Leave enough slack in the elastic
adjustment straps to allow them to be
pulled over your head.
VII. TESTING
Pull on the top three straps to ensure they do not pull out
from the rim slots.

IX. WARRANT AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
LIMITED WARRANTY:SURVIVAIR®warrants this
product to be free from defects in materials and
workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase.
During this period, SURVIVAIR will repair of replace
defective parts, at SURVIVAIR’s option. Freight charges

to and from the SURVIVAIR factory shall be paid by the
purchaser.
EXCLUSIONS:NOTWITHSTANDING ANY
CONTRARY TERM IN THE PURCHASER’S
PURCHASE ORDER OR OTHERWISE, THE ONLY
WARRANTY EXTENDED BY SURVIVAIR IS THE
EXPRESSED LIMITED WARRANTY DEFINED ABOVE.
THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANT ABILITY,
OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
CONDITIONS: To maintain this warranty this product
must be used, maintained, and inspected as prescribed
in the owner’s instruction manual, including prompt
replacement or repair of defective parts and such other
necessary maintenance and repair as may be required.
Normal wear and tear, and parts damaged by abuse,
misuse, negligence, or accident are specifically excluded
form this warranty.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:No other oral warranties,
representations, or guarantees of any kind have been
made by SURVIVAIR, its distributors, or the agents of
either of them, that in any way alter the terms of this
warranty. EXCEPT AS HEREIN PROVIDED,
SURVIVAIR SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY
LOSS OR DAMAGE, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT,
INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL, TO ANY
PURCHASER OR USER OF THIS PRODUCT ARISING
FROM THE SALE, USE, OR OPERATION OF THIS
PRODUCT.
WARNING: The failure to use and maintain this
equipment in strict conformance with the applicable
instruction manual may result in serious personal injury,
and its use in any manner that is not expressly
authorized pursuant to the applicable instruction manual
may result in severe adverse impacts to human health.
