Theunitsareperfectforrefrigeratorandfreezercases.Thesensor
bodymountsontheoutsideoffreezers,andeitherinsideoroutside
ofrefrigerators.Itisavailablewithaninternalsensororanexternal
probeorthermobuer.

Adjustable Settings
BAPI’swirelessdeviceshaveseveralsettingsthatcanbecanbeeldadjustedtosuittheneedsoftheinstallation.All
settingsareconguredbyeitherBAPI’scloudbasedWirelessAssetMonitoring(WAM)orthereceiver.(SeetheWAMor
receiverinstructionsdocumentsavailableontheBAPIwebsiteformoreinformationonadjustingthesettings.)
Sample Rate/Interval–Thetimebetweenwhenthesensorwakesupandtakesareading.Theavailablevaluesare
10sec,30sec,1min,3minor5minwiththegateway,or30sec,1min,3minor5minwiththereceiver.
Transmit Rate/Interval–Thetimebetweenwhenthesensortransmitsthereadingstothegatewayorreceiver.The
availablevaluesare30sec,1,2,3,4,5,10,15,20or30minutes,or1,6or12hourswiththegateway,or1,5,10or30
minuteswiththereceiver.
Delta Temperature–Thechangeintemperaturebetweenasampleandthelasttransmissionthatwillcausethe
sensortooverridethetransmitintervalandimmediatelytransmitthechangedtemperature.Theavailablevaluesare0.1,
0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5,1,2,3,4,5°For°Cwiththegateway,and1or3°For°Cwiththereceiver.
Delta Humidity–Thechangehumiditybetweenasampleandthelasttransmissionthatwillcausethesensorto
overridethetransmitintervalandimmediatelytransmitthechangedhumidity.Theavailablevaluesare0.5,1,2,3,4or5
%RHwiththegateway,and3or5%RHwiththereceiver.
Temperature Min/Max–Themaximumorminumumtemperaturethatwillcausethesensortooverridethetransmit
intervalandimmediatelytransmitareadingtothegateway.(Onlyavailablewhenusingagateway.)
Temperature Offset–Adjuststhetemperaturevaluebeingtransmittedtomatchthatofacalibratedreferencedevice.
Theavailablevaluesare±0.1,0.2,0.5,1,2,3,4or5°For°C.(Onlyavailablewhenusingagateway.)
Humidity Offset–Adjuststhehumidityvaluebeingtransmittedtomatchthatofacalibratedreferencedevice.The
availablevaluesare±0.5,1,2,3or5%RH.(Onlyavailablewhenusingagateway.)
Associated Receiver or Gateway
Please see BAPI’s Wireless Quick Start Guide, or the gateway or receiver
instructions available on the BAPI website (www.bapihvac.com/gateway-quick-start)
to establish communication between the sensors and the gateway or receiver.
GATEWAY
Thewirelessgatewayreceivesthedatafromoneormorewirelesssensors.Thegatewaythen
providesthedatatothecloudviaMQTT.Thegatewayalsosendsaconrmationsignaltoeach
sensoruponasuccessfulreceptionofdata.Thegatewaysupportsupto32sensors.

RECEIVER (Wireless-to-Analog)
ThewirelessreceiverfromBAPIreceivesthedatafromone
ormorewirelesssensors.Thedataisthentransferredtothe
analogoutputmodulesandconvertedtoananalogvoltageor
resistance.Thereceiversupportsupto32sensorsandupto
127dierentanalogoutputmodules.

Initial Activation
Forconvenience,BAPIrecommendspairingthesensortotheintendedreceiveror
gatewaypriortomountingeitherdevice.Bothdevicesneedtobepowered-ontopair.
Seethereceiverorgatewayinstallationmanualforinstructionsonpairingthesensor.
Theunitcomeswithapre-installedbattery.Toactivatetheunit,removethebaseplate
andpulloutthebatteryinsulatortabasshowninFig.1.
PresstheService
buttonandtheServiceLEDshouldashoncetoconrmpower.Ifthesensor
willnotbecommissionedformorethanacoupleofdays,BAPIrecommends
reinstallingthebatteryinsulatortabstoconservebatterylife.
1.Placethebaseplateverticallyagainstthewallwhereyouwantto
mountthesensorandmarkthetwomountingholes.
2.Drilltwo3/16”(4.8mm)holesinthecenterofeachmarked
mountinghole.Insertadrywallanchorintoeachhole.
3.Securethebasetothedrywallanchorsusingthe#6x1”(25mm)
mountingscrewsprovided.
4.AttachCoverbylatchingittothetopofthebase,rotatingthe
coverdownandsnappingitintoplace.Securethecoverby
backingoutthelock-downscrewusinga1/16”(1.6mm)Allen
wrenchuntilitisushwiththebottomofthecover.

Sensorretainsupto16,000readingsshouldthecommunicationbecomeinterrupted.Thesensoronlystoresreadings
frommissedtransmissionsandonlywhenthesensorispairedtoagateway.Oncecommunicationisre-establishedwith
thegateway,thestoredreadingsaretransmittedandthenerasedfromthesensor.Thecurrentreadingandnineprevious
readingsaresentateachtransmitintervaluntilthesensoriscaughtup.Temporarilyshorteningthetransmitintervalwill
allowthesensortomorequicklyclearanystoredreadings.
Onboard Memory
Wireless Sensor Reset
Sensorsremainpairedtothegatewayorreceiverandoutputmoduleswhenpowerisinterruptedorthebatteriesare
removed.Tobreakthebondsbetweenthem,thesensorsneedtobereset.Todothis,pressandholdthe“ServiceButton”
onthesensorforabout30seconds.Duringthose30seconds,thegreenLEDwillbeoforabout5seconds,thenash
slowly,thenbeginashingrapidly.Whentherapidashingstops,theresetiscomplete.Thesensorcannowbepaired
toanewreceiverorgateway.Tore-pairtothesamereceiverorgateway,youmustresetthereceiverorgateway.Output
modulesthatwerepreviouslypairedtothesensordonotneedtobere-paired.

1.Removethecoverfromthebaseplatebyturninginthecoverlockdownscrewwitha
1/16”(1.6mm)Allenwrenchuntilthecovercanberemoved.
2.Removetheusedbatteryfromitsholderanddiscardinanenvironmentallysafe
manner.Replacewithanewbatteryinthecorrectorientation(Fig6).
3.
AttachCoverbylatchingittothetopofthebase,rotatingthecoverdownand
snappingintoplace.Securethecoverbybackingoutthelock-downscrewusinga
1/16”(1.6mm)Allenwrenchuntilitisushwiththebottomofthecover.

Possible Problems:
Sensor is not
communicatingwiththe
gatewayorreceiver,or
thetransmittedvaluesare
incorrect.
Diagnostics
Possible Solutions:
Makesurethesensoriswithinrangeofthegatewayorreceiver.
VerifythatthegreenLEDonthesensorcircuitboardasheswhenthe“Service”button
ispressed,indicatingatransmission.Ifitdoesnotash,replacethebattery.
Verifythatthesensorisproperlypairedtothegatewayorreceiverandanalogoutput
modulesasdescribedinthegatewayorreceiverinstructionsavailableontheBAPI
website.Re-pairthemifneeded.Ifnecessary,performthe“WirelessSensorReset”
proceduredescribedabove.
Door Switch Magnet Accessory
TheDoorSwitchMagnet(
BA/DSM)
workswithBAPI’sWireless“Quantum
Slim”sensortomonitorthestatusofdoors,including
refrigerators,freezers,outsidedoorsandgarbage
gates.ThepickupfortheDoorSwitchMagnetis
alreadymountedinsidealloftheBAPI-Stat“Quantum
Slim”units,includingthosewithexternalsensors.
Mountthemagnetonthedoorsothatwhenthedoor
isclosed,themagnetiswithin0.4”(10mm)ofthe
lower,rightsideofthe“QuantumSlim”.Themagnetcanbemountedwith
double-sidedmountingtapeorwithscrewsinthemountingholes.
TheoutputfromtheBAPI-Stat“QuantumSlim”isadigital“On/O”signal
tothegatewayorthereceiver.Theswitchis“o”whenthemagnetis
within0.4”(10mm)ofthe“QuantumSlim”and“on”whenitisnot.
Note: When used with the receiver, the Door Switch Magnet requires
a Relay Output Module to convert the signal to an open or closed
relay signal for the controller input. This Relay Output Module is not
