Preparing the drying cycle
Preparing your garments for drying
oFor optimum drying performance, sort the laundry according to
fabric type, drying programme and the wash care symbol that is
printed on the garment’s wash care label.
oBefore drying, thoroughly spin the laundry in a washing machine
if possible to reduce the drying time and save energy.
oCheck all pockets on a garment to make sure that they are
empty.
oRemove any detachable metal items (badges,
paperclips, safety pins etc).
oZips should be closed, duvet covers and
pillow cases should be buttoned up and any loose straps should
be tied up. This will help to prevent other garments from getting
damaged during the drying cycle.
oDo not dry the clothes for longer than necessary to avoid creases
or shrinkage.
oDO NOT dry items containing rubber or similar elastic materials,
raincoats, bicycle covers or feather products.
oDO NOT dry clothes which have been dry-cleaned.
oIn order to avoid the danger of fire caused by excessive drying,
DO NOT use the appliance to dry items such as cushions or
quilts as these items accumulate heat.
oEnsure the lint filter is emptied and cleaned after each use to
avoid the extension of drying time and energy use.

oDo not exceed the maximum load capacity or the machine will
fail to dry the clothes efficiently. You should refer to the program
table for the maximum load size for each program and the
weight references below before starting a cycle. Please note that

oAt the end of the drying programme, a buzzer will sound to prompt
you to remove the laundry from the drum. You should then unplug
the machine before cleaning the lint filter.

Control panel and machine cabinet.
IMPORTANT: Do not use any abrasive cleaner
or household polish on either the control panel
or operating parts.
oWipe over the control panel and the
external surface of the machine using a
brand new damp cloth with warm water.
14

The lint filter
oThe fluff and debris which accumulates
on the filter will block the air circulation
which will cause the drying time and
energy consumption to increase.
Therefore the lint filter should be
cleaned after each use.
oTo remove the filter, open the tumble
dryer door and locate the filter at the
base of the porthole opening. Squeeze
the sides and pull the filter upwards to
take it out.
oClean the lint filter by wiping off the
scrap threads and fluff which have
accumulated on it.
oReinstall the filter.
oDO NOT allow lint to build up around the dryer.
oA torn or damaged filter must be replaced immediately.
oOverloading laundry can increase lint build up because the air
flow is reduced.
oThe interior of the dryer should be cleaned of any accumulated
lint at regular intervals. This must be done by a qualified person
for electrical safety.
oIf you change the mounting of the dryer from upright to inverted
or visa versa, the dryer must be cleaned internally by a
serviceman.
oIMPORTANT: NEVER operate the tumble dryer without the
lint filter in place.
The tumble dryer drum
The drum of your tumble dryer is constructed from stainless steel.
However if there are objects that can rust placed inside the drum, then
it is possible for the drum to become stained.
IMPORTANT: Do not use a descaling agent, iron/steel wool or
scouring agents to clean the drum of your appliance.
oRemove any rust stains on the drum with an appropriate
stainless steel cleaning agent.
15

or there are any foreign bodies inside or underneath the rubber
