SonoSite Ultrasound Probe Leakage Testing with the BC Biomedical ULT-2000 Series
Quick Start Guide
Install the SonoSite Probe Connector on the compatible BC Biomedical Probe Adapter ULT-PA-32 (pictured above). Align the SonoSite Probe
Connector with the Probe Adapter and gently insert the connector into the adapter. Turn the latch counterclockwise to engage the connector
then fold the latch against the connector to lock it into place. Refer to the chart on the following page to cross reference your SonoSite Probe
with the compatible BC Biomedical Probe Adapter(s).

Refer to the chart above to determine if the ULT-AC-10 Fork Adapter is
also required to test your SonoSite Probe. If the ULT-AC-10 Fork Adapter
is required, gently insert it between the two deflection control wheels
until it firmly clips onto the metal center shaft of the control wheels.

If using a soak tube* (pictured, left):
-Insert the tip of the ULT-PC-30 Submersible Conductivity Probe to the bottom of the tube.
-Fill the tube to an appropriate level with cleaning solution, saline, or water.
-Place the transducer tip of the SonoSite Probe into the tube, and submerge to the 60cm mark
(minimum) as indicated on the probe shaft.
If using a soak tray (pictured, bottom-right):
-Hang the ULT-PC-10 Conductivity Probe on the edge of the tray.
-Fill the tray with cleaning solution, saline, or water until the Conductive Probe contacts are
sufficiently submerged (approximately 1 inch, or more).
-Place the transducer tip of the SonoSite Probe into the tray, and submerge between 60cm and 90cm
as indicated on the probe shaft.
*If using an automated TEE Probe Disinfector see Appendices for details.

To Perform a SonoSite Ultrasound Probe Leakage Test with the ULT-2000 Series
1. Verify that the ULT-2000 Series is set to test a SonoSite Ultrasound Probe, as
indicated by the Device Configuration screen above.
oThe Device Configuration Screen appears briefly as the ULT-2000
Series is powered on.
oThe Device Configuration Screen may also be viewed/modified by
repeatedly pressing the Mode button until the desired screen is
displayed. (see ULT-2000 User Manual for details)
2. Verify the test setup and connections are complete (pages 1 –4).
3. With the ULT-2000 Series “Ready for Testing” screen displayed, press the Full
Test button to initiate the Ultrasound Probe Leakage Test.
4. Record and/or print the Test Results.

Appendix A
CS Medical TD 100 Details
Using a TD 100 to high-level disinfectant your TEE probe, perform electrical leakage testing inside the TD 100:
-Press START on the TD 100 to initiate a disinfection cycle and insert your TEE probe.
-Insert the tip of the ULT-PC-31 Submersible Conductivity Probe until the white mark is at the reservoir.
-Enter probe number, operator number and lot number of disinfectant as prompted by the TD 100.
-Insert the bottle of disinfectant into the TD 100. Do not close the disinfectant door but wait for the bottle to drain into the TD
100. There is no need for a saline solution, as the disinfectant will work as the conductive solution.
-Once the bottle is fully emptied into the TD 100 you are ready to begin electrical leakage testing.
