1 Safety precautons
Warning
Ths ar condtoner uses R290 flammable refrgerant.
C
Note:
Ar condtoner wth R290 refrgerant, f roughly
treated, may cause serous harm to the human body or
surroundng thngs.
•
The room space for the nstallaton, use, repar, and storage of ths
ar condtoner should be greater than 12m2.
•
Ar condtoner refrgerant can not charge more than 250g.
•
Do not use any methods to speed up defrost or to clean frosty parts
except for partcular recommended by manufacturer.
•
The applance shall be stored n a well-ventlated area where the
room sze corresponds to the room area as specfed for operaton.
•
Not perce or burn ar condtoner, and check the refrgerant ppelne
whether be damaged.
•
The ar condtoner should be stored n a room wthout lastng fre
source, for example, open flame, burnng gas applance, workng
electrc heater and so on.
•
Be aware that refrgerants may not contan an odour.
•
The storage of ar condtoner should be able to prevent mechancal
damage caused by accdent.
•
The applance must be kept free from obstructon to ensure proper
functon and mtgate safety hazards.

Incorrect nstallaton or operaton by not followng these
nstructons may cause harm or damage to people, propertes,
etc.

Ths applance can be used by chldren aged from 8 years and above
f they have been gven supervson or nstructon concernng use
of the applance n a safe way and understand the hazards nvolved.
Cleanng and user mantenance shall not be made by chldren
unless they are aged from 8 years and above and supervsed. Keep
the applance and ts cord out of reach of chldren aged less than
8 years.

Ths applance s not ntended for use by persons (ncludng
chldren) wth reduced physcal, sensory or mental capabltes, or
lack of experence and knowledge, unless they have been gven
supervson or nstructon concernng use of the applance by a

The applance shall be nstalled n accordance wth natonal wrng
regulatons.

The ar condtoner must be grounded. Incomplete groundng may
result n electrc shocks.
Do not connect the earth wre to the gas ppelne, water ppelne,
lghtnng rod, or telephone earth wre.
•
After nstallment, earth leakage examnaton must be carred on
through electrfyng.
•
An earth leakage breaker wth rated capacty must be nstalled to
avod possble electrc shocks.
•
Don’ t nstall ar condtoner n a place where there s flammable gas
or lqud. It may cause fre or exploson.
•
If the power supply cord s damaged, t must be replaced by the
manufacture or ts servce agent or a smlar qualfed person.
•
The specfcaton of the fuse are prnted on the crcut bord, such as:
AC 250V/5A.
•
Don’t put hands or any objects nto the ar nlets or outlets.
Ths may cause personal njury or damage to the unt.
•
Don’ t touch the swngng wnd vanes.
It may damp your fnger and damage the drvng parts of the wnd
vanes.
•
Don’t attempt to repar the ar condtoner by yourself.
You may be hurt or cause further malfunctons.
•
In lghtng storm weather, please cut off the prmary power supply
swtch n order to prevent the machne from damage.

Don’ t use lqud or corrosve detergent to clean the applance and
don’ t splash water or other lqud onto t , otherwse, t may damage
the plastc components, even cause electrc shock.
•
Don’t operate the unt n a wet room such as the bath room or
laundry rooms.
•
Don’t touch the unt wth wet or damp hands or when barefoot.
•
Don’t pull the unt by the cord.
•
Don’t remove any part of the unt unless nstructed by an authorzed
techncan.
•
Don’t move the unt, unless the power has been cut off and the
power cord s ted to the bendng and wndng column.
•
Don’t operate the unt wth a damaged plug or a loose socket.
•
Ducts connected to an applance shall not contan an gnton
source.
•
Unplug before cleanng or mantenance operatons.
•
Do not use manuals to accelerate the defrostng process or to clean,
other than those recommended by the manufacturer. The applance
shall be stored n a room wthout Contnuously operaton gnton
sources (for example: open flames, an operaton gas applance or
an operatng electrc heater.) Do not perce or burn. Be aware that
refrgerants may not contan an odour.
•
The applance shall state the nsulaton of a resdual current devce
(RCD) havng rated resdual operatng current not exceedng 30mA.
•

Warnng:
Any person who s nvolved wth workng on or breakng
nto a refrgerant crcut should hold a current vald
certfcate from an ndustry-accredted assessment
authorty, whch authorses ther competence to handle
refrgerants safely n accordance wth an ndustry
recognsed assessment specfcaton.
Servcng shall only be performed as recommended by
the equpment manufacturer. Mantenance and repar
requrng the assstance of other sklled personnel shall
be carred out under the supervson of the person
competent n the use of flammable refrgerants.
Qualfcaton requrements of mantenance personnel
1. Specal tranng addtonal to usual refrgeratng equpment
repar procedures s requred when equpment wth flammable
refrgerants s affected. In many countres, ths tranng s carred
out by natonal tranng organsatons that are accredted to teach
the relevant natonal competency standards that may be set n
legslaton. The acheved competence should be documented by a
certfcate.

2. The mantenance and repar of the ar condtoner must be
conducted accordng to the method recommended by the
manufacturer. If other professonals are needed to help mantan
and repar the equpment, t should be conducted under the
supervson of ndvduals who have the qualfcaton to repar AC
equpped wth flammable refrgerant.
Inspecton of the ste
Safety nspecton must be taken before mantanng equpment
wth R290 refrgerant to make sure the rsk of fre s mnmzed.
Check whether the place s well ventlated, whether ant-statc and
fre preventon equpment s perfect.
Whle mantanng the refrgeraton system, observe the followng
precautons before operatng the system.
Operatng procedures
1. General work area:
All mantenance staff and others workng n the local area shall
be nstructed on the nature of work beng carred out. Work n
confned spaces shall be avoded. The area around the workspace
shall be sectoned off. Ensure that the condtons wthn the area
have been made safe by control of flammable materal.
2. Checkng for presence of refrgerant:
The area shall be checked wth an approprate refrgerant
detector pror to and durng work, to ensure the techncan s
aware of potentally toxc or flammable atmospheres. Ensure that
the leak detecton equpment beng used s sutable for use wth

all applcable refrgerants, .e. non-sparkng, adequately sealed or
ntrnscally safe.
3. Presence of fre extngusher:
If any hot work s to be conducted on the refrgeraton equpment
or any assocated parts, approprate fre extngushng equpment
shall be avalable to hand. Have a dry powder or CO2fre
extngusher adjacent to the chargng area.
4.No gnton sources:
No person carryng out work n relaton to a refrgeraton system
whch nvolves exposng any ppe work shall use any sources
of gnton n such a manner that t may lead to the rsk of fre
or exploson. All possble gnton sources, ncludng cgarette
smokng, should be kept suffcently far away from the ste
of nstallaton, reparng, removng and dsposal, durng whch
refrgerant can possbly be released to the surroundng space.
Pror to work takng place, the area around the equpment s to
be surveyed to make sure that there are no flammable hazards or
gnton rsks.
‘No Smokng’ sgns shall be dsplayed.
5. Ventlated area (open the door and wndow):
Ensure that the area s n the open or that t s adequately
ventlated before breakng nto the system or conductng any hot
work. A degree of ventlaton shall contnue durng the perod that
the work s carred out. The ventlaton should safely dsperse any
released refrgerant and preferably expel t externally nto the
atmosphere.

6.Checks to the refrgeraton equpment:
Where electrcal components are beng changed, they shall be
ft for the purpose and to the correct specfcaton. At all tmes
the manufacturer’s mantenance and servce gudelnes shall
be followed. If n doubt, consult the manufacturer’s techncal
department for assstance. The followng checks shall be appled
to nstallatons usng flammable refrgerants:
•
The charge sze s n accordance wth the room sze wthn whch
the refrgerant contanng parts are nstalled.
•
The ventlaton machnery and outlets are operatng adequately
and are not obstructed.
•
If an ndrect refrgeratng crcut s beng used, the secondary
crcut shall be checked for the presence of refrgerant.
•
Refrgeraton ppe or components are nstalled n a poston
where they are unlkely to be exposed to any substance whch
may corrode refrgerant contanng components, unless the
components are constructed of materals whch are nherently
resstant to beng corroded or are sutably protected aganst beng
so corroded.
7. Checks to electrcal devces:
Repar and mantenance to electrcal components shall nclude
ntal safety checks and component nspecton procedures. If
a fault exsts that could compromse safety, then no electrcal
supply shall be connected to the crcut untl t s satsfactorly
dealt wth. If the fault cannot be corrected mmedately but t

s necessary to contnue operaton, an adequate temporary
soluton shall be used. Ths shall be reported to the owner of the
equpment so all partes are advsed.
Intal safety checks shall nclude:
•
That capactors are dscharged: ths shall be done n a safe manner
to avod possblty of sparkng.
•
That no lve electrcal components and wrng are exposed whle
chargng, recoverng or purgng the system.
•
Keep contnuty of earthng.
Inspecton of cable
Check the cable for wear, corroson, overvoltage, vbraton and
check f there are sharp edges and other adverse effects n the
surroundng envronment. Durng the nspecton, the mpact of
agng or the contnuous vbraton of the compressor and the fan on
t should be taken nto consderaton.
Leakage check of R290 refrgeral
C
Note: Check the leakage of the refrgerant n an
envronment where there s no potental gnton source.
No halogen probe (or any other detector that uses an
open flame) should be used.
Leak detecton method:
For systems wth refrgerant R290, electronc leak detecton
nstrument s avalable to detect and leak detecton should not be
conducted n envronment wth refrgerant. Make sure the leak

detector wll not become a potental source of gnton, and s
applcable to the measured refrgerant. Leak detector shall be set
for the mnmum gntable fuel concentraton (percentage) of the
refrgerant. Calbrate and adjust to proper gas concentraton (no
more than 25%) wth the used refrgerant.
The flud used n leak detecton s applcable to most refrgerants.
But do not use chlorde solvents to prevent the reacton between
chlorne and refrgerants and the corroson of copper ppelne.
If you suspect a leak, then remove all the fre from the scene or put
out the fre.
If the locaton of the leak needs to be welded, then all refrgerants
need to be recovered, or, solate all refrgerants away from the leak
ste (usng cut-off valve). Before and durng the weldng, use OFN to
purfy the entre system.
Removal and vacuum pumpng
1. Make sure there s no gnted fre source near the outlet of the
vacuum pump and the ventlaton s well.
2. Allow the mantenance and other operatons of the refrgeraton
crcut should be carred out accordng to the general procedure,
but the followng best operatons that the flammablty s already
taken nto consderaton are the key. You should follow the
followng procedures:
•
Remove the refrgerant.
•
Decontamnate the ppelne by nert gases.
•
Evacuaton.

•
Cut or weld the ppelne.
3. The refrgerant should be returned to the approprate storage
tank. The system should be blown wth oxygen free ntrogen to
ensure safety. Ths process may need to be repeated for several
tmes. Ths operaton shall not be carred out usng compressed ar
or oxygen.
4.Through blowng process, the system s charged nto the
anaerobc ntrogen to reach the workng pressure under the
vacuum state, then the oxygen free ntrogen s emtted to the
atmosphere, and n the end, vacuumze the system. Repeat ths
process untl all refrgerants n the system s cleared. After the
fnal chargng of the anaerobc ntrogen, dscharge the gas nto
the atmosphere pressure, and then the system can be welded.
Ths operaton s necessary for weldng the ppelne.
Procedures of chargng refrgerants
As a supplement to the general procedure, the followng
requrements need to be added:
-
Make sure that there s no contamnaton among dfferent
refrgerants when usng a refrgerant chargng devce. The
ppelne for chargng refrgerants should be as short as possble to
reduce the resdual of refrgerants n t.
-
Storage tanks should reman vertcally up.
-
Make sure the groundng solutons are already taken before the
refrgeraton system s charged wth refrgerants.

After fnshng the chargng (or when t s not yet fnshed), label
the mark on the system.
-
Be careful not to overcharge refrgerants.
Scrap and recovery
Scrap:
Before ths procedure, the techncal personnel shall be thoroughly
famlar wth the equpment and all ts features, and make a
recommended practce for refrgerant safe recovery. For recyclng
the refrgerant, shall analyze the refrgerant and ol samples before
operaton. Ensure the requred power before the test.
1. Be famlar wth the equpment and operaton.
2. Dscornect power supply.
3. Before carryng out ths process, you have to make sure:
•
lf necessary. mechancal equpment operaton should facltate
the operaton of the refrgerant tank.
•
All personal protectve equpment s effectve and can be used
correctly.
•
The whole recovery process should be carred out under the
gudance of qualfed personnel.
•
The recoverng of equpment and storage tank should comply
wth the relevant natonal standards.
4.If possble. the refrgeratng system should be vacuumzed.
5. If the vacuum state can’t be reached, you should extract the
refrgerant n each part of the system from many places.

6.Before the start of the recovery, you should ensure that the
capacty of the storage tank s suffcent.
7. Start and operate the recovery equpment accordng to the
manufacturer’s nstructons.
8.Don’t fll the tank to ts full capacty (the lqud njecton volume
does not exceed 80% of the tank volume).
9.Even the duraton s short, t must not exceed the maxmum
workng pressure of the tank.
10.After the completon of the tank fllng and the end of the
operaton process, you should make sure that the tanks and
equpment should be removed quckly and all closng valves n
the equpment are closed.
11. The recovered refrgerants are not allowed to be njected nto
another system before beng purfed and tested.

Note: The dentfcaton should be made after the
applance s scrapped and refrgerants are evacuated. The
dentfcaton should contan the date and endorsement.
Make sure the dentfcaton on the applance can reflect
the flammable refrgerants contaned n ths applance.
Recovery:
1. The clearance of refrgerants n the system s requred when
reparng or scrappng the applance. It s recommended to
completely remove the refrgerant.
2. Only a specal refrgerant tank can be used when loadng the
refrgerant nto the storage tank. Make sure the capacty of the

tank s approprate to the refrgerant njecton quantty n the
entre system. All tanks ntended to be used for the recovery
of refrgerants should have a refrgerant dentfcaton (.e.
refrgerant recovery tank). Storage tanks should be equpped wth
pressure relef valves and globe valves and they should be n a
good condton. If possble, empty tanks should be evacuated and
mantaned at room temperature before use.
3. The recovery equpment should be kept n a good workng
condton and equpped wth equpment operatng nstructons for
easy access. The equpment should be sutable for the recovery of
R290 refrgerants. Besdes, there should be a qualfed weghtng
apparatus whch can be normally used. The hose should be lnked
wth detachable connecton jont of zero leakage rate and be kept
n a good condton.
Before usng the recovery equpment, check f t s n a good
condton and f t gets perfect mantenance. Check f all electrcal
components are sealed to prevent the leakage of the refrgerant
and the fre caused by t. If you have any queston, please consult
the manufacturer.
4.The recovered refrgerant shall be loaded n the approprate
storage tanks, attached wth a transportng nstructon, and
returned to the refrgerant manufacturer. Don’t mx refrgerant n
recovery equpment, especally a storage tank.
5. The space loadng R290 refrgeraton can’t be enclosed n the
process of transportaton. Take ant electrostatc measures f
necessary n transportaton. In the process of transport, loadng

and unloadng, necessary protectve measures must be taken to
protect the ar condtoner to ensure that the ar condtoner s not
damaged.
6.When removng the compressor or clearng the compressor ol,
make sure the compressor s pumped to an approprate level
to ensure that there s no resdual R290 refrgerants n the
lubrcatng ol. The vacuum pumpng should be carred out before
the compressor s returned to the suppler. Ensure the safety
when dschargng ol from the system.
Warning
Falure to follow the below precauton could result n electrcal
shock, fre or personal njury.
•
The plug must be plugged nto an outlet that s properly nstalled
and grounded.
•
Do not use an extenson cord or plug adaptor wth ths unt.
•
Don’t apply the cold ar to the body for a long tme. It wll
deterorate your physcal condtons and cause health problems.
•
Don’t block ar nlet or ar outlet, otherwse, the coolng/heatng
capacty wll be weakened, even cause system stop operatng.
•
Close the wndows and doors, otherwse, the coolng/heatng
capacty wll be weakened.
•
If the ar flter s very drty, the coolng/heatng capacty wll be
weakened. Please clean the ar flter regularly.

WEEE Warning
Meanng of crossed out wheeled dustbn: Do not dspose of
electrcal applances as unsorted muncpal waste, use separate
collecton facltes.
Contact you local government for nformaton regardng the
collecton systems avalable. If electrcal applances are dsposed
of n landflls or dumps, hazardous substances can leak nto the
groundwater and get nto the food chan, damagng your health
and well-beng.When replacng old applances wth new ones,
the retaler s legally oblgated to take back your old applance for
dsposals at least free of charge.
